Bartja casually looks over the door wondering if there might be a security system in place.  "Looks safe enough" he announces.  "Shall we go in and see who's home or shall we knock first?"  It's meant as a joke, but the thought might actually be something to consider.  If anything lived down here, especially if the creatures that took Jaimeson live down here, it would be wise to knock first.

Desiraye lends a hand to getting Dulob and Inta out of that room and to the next door where the robot stopped.  She watches as Dulob goes through his routine and offers a hand to help, "I don't think I'm anywhere near your skill Bartja but, I'll happily lend you a hand!"

There does not appear to be any kind of alarm system.  The doors are quite antiquated, as well as the caverns and rooms.  They look to have been built at about the same time as the ruins above ground.  The walls and ceiling, and even part of the doors, are covered with lichen, fungus, and mold.

Another door and another opportunity for Bartja to expose his skill to his companions.  If Inta didn't come out of her stupor soon, she was going to miss all of the excitement!  Bartja bends down to study the door latch mechanism, trying to determine if perhaps this door is locked, trapped, or has some other ancient security mechanism in place.  He winces with the effort, the injury to his side still fresh, sore, and probably seeping again.  It seems highly unlikely that there's anything to find and with all the moss and mold on the other door, he doubts that these have seen heavy use for any length of time - either that or the new occupants weren't particularly fond of cleaning.

Dulob opens the door to the south and goes in.  He is still very hyperactive.  "Let's just do it.  Maybe if we run through the halls it'll be safer."

You enter a 20 meter by 30 meter chamber with a large number of weirdly shaped crystals.  There is another door in the western wall.  Like the rest of the complex you've seen, this place appears old and dilapidated, with fungus, mold, and lichen on the walls, and slightly ruined walls and ceiling.

As Dulob makes his way to the door on the west side, two crystals suddenly begin to move and fire upon him.  One of them hits him with some sort of energy attack.  (23 dmg)

Well, there's the security I was worried about Bartja thinks as he draws his laser pistol and takes aim at the crystals.  He directs the robot "attack the crystals, ATTACK THE CRYSTALS!"  He hadn't expected to have to program them to recognize inorganics as a threat and if they were not directed to do so, might assume the energy blast was normal and expected.

For his own part, Bartja takes careful aim at one of the two rogue crystals, and fires, hoping to NOT hit Dulob in the process.

With his gyrojet busted, Dulob takes aim with his needler at the nearest crystal and fires.

The two strange crystals release energy bursts, both directed at Inta.  One hits her (17 dmg).

Everyone fires in a maelstrom of activity.  Everyone but Bartja and the robot hit the nearest crystal, and it shatters.

The other crystal is moving closer for another attack.

Bartja takes another carefully aimed shot at the crystal, hoping to do better this time and still waiting for the robots to react to his verbal commands.  There's definitely going to be another adjustment to the programming after this!

15:06, Today: Bartja Nemuco rolled 3 using 1d100. Attack. 

This time, he's much more satisfied with the accuracy he coaxed out of the laser beam!  (Set to 5)  Realizing the clip is now empty, Bartja hurries to eject the empty and replace it with is last clip - a half-full one that remains from a previous battle.  Hopefully he won't have to use those last few precious SEU's before they locate Jaimeson.
