Giving the DM monster advice? Bad move!

But, hey, could be fun! I am sure that there's at least one group that's had fun with a TPK, right? Technically, we did have a blast with Tomb of Horrors and a TPK back in the day but I wouldn't say it was FUN, just a very challenging module. My poor thief!

As the ground ceases shaking, the dust begins to settle & some vision returns. Still dusty down there ... I rolled initiative for Anneth & Wulf to get us moving along.

07:11, Fri 22 Mar: Anneth rolled 20 using 1d20.  Anneth - Initiative. – 20

I actually rolled Initiative, but forgot to link it from the Dice Roller!

Oh, no, I think you're giving the dice ideas!  In a Labyrinth Lord game, I got three twenties, I think it was, or at least two in a row to procure adventuring equipment, and then on my first attack roll?  Bupkis!  Naught!  Nuttin'!  Bunk!  Sluggo's I.Q.!  A first-level cleric's spells to cast!

While I get my post out, I'm going to be making offerings to gods of luck... Who've we got, here... Tymora, Tyche, Beshaba, Avandra, The Complete Priest's Handbook vagaries... Olidammara...?

Oh, I was just joshing, really!  Over on the old site, I'd either score on, like, the absolute ends of the bell curve, seldom any in-betweens, it'd seem.  This one, I trrrust...?  For now.

The new page design took away the "Last visited" dates on The Cast list for players apparently, but it looks like you might have lost Wulf and Artisia entirely and Clayton may or may not be running late.  Might be time to set a post-by time limit and NPC those who can't make it in time.

Agreed.  On that note, sometimes my job does get hairy in terms of workload, so if you'd like an "NPC Script" for me for those times, Dungeon Master... lemme know!

The DM has that column that HE CAN see even if we can't. But yes, if they haven't been here in that length of time and didn't tell you, assume they ghosted! How rude! Advertise for replacements!

OK, seems like the snake will be taking out some players then. I have to do another shift of shoveling, then get down to what's happening. 12 inches of snow arrived today. Weather forecasting, legalized gambling ...

A shift in tactics!?  Artisia bravely leaps forward to distract the snake and throws herself into the snake's mouth, blocking it from using its fangs on any other PC.

I can't remember the stand-up comic's name but the line was something along the lines of weather forecasting is the one job where you can be right no more the 50% of the time and still be hailed as having a fabulous record.

Oh, brother... Tell me about it.  I lived in Florida from 1997 to 2011, and there were so many times I'd hear, "Ahh, that Tropical Storm isn't gonna be NOTHIN'!  Don't you kids worry!".  Then, all of a sudden, everyone aboard the ISS says that they can see a HURRICANE, and it's got fists at the end of its arms, and it's punching the weather station before everything else!

I live in Vermont, in the Green Mtn foothills ... So always a bit more snow than Burlington, VT gets. No, I do not downhill ski. Would love to try cross country though.

I lived in Florida from 73 to 95 and my parents still live there so I understand what you mean.  I now live in the very northwest edge of the US's Pacific Northwest and our major weather challenge is generally how much and how long will we be blanketed by smoke from Canada's wildfire.  It's gotten so difficult to predict that even the experts write in their posts how much uncertainty they're dealing with in the prediction models. Essentially, "I think this is going to happen but I'm not really sure because X, Y and Z are unmeasurable effects on what might actually happen."

*shakes fist at Jim Cantore*  I'm in the Pacific Northwest, too.  Where I am, all we've got to worry about right now is pollen!  I use that pollen(dot)com website, but if anyone knows a better resource that isn't loaded with ads, I'm all ears.  I've been using the NOAA website for weather.

It takes a lot of reading into things but I've been using earth.nullschool.net to look for regional and larger scale weather effects.  Not good for looking for pollen counts.  I ginned up an Arduino-based particulate monitor to look for wildfire smoke leaking into our house.  I wonder if the same would help you with pollen counts in your immediate area.  If you'd like, feel free to PM for what I did.

Sure!  Thank you, I'd greatly appreciate that... even if I end up scratching my head at it, I know someone who would eat that right up.
