Most of the time I don't notice. Like for April Fools Day. Some days it reminds me, oh yeah today is Saint Patrick's Day, or Halloween. Which are just normal days for me, but affect me if I go out.

Then most Christmases I'm not even on RPoL. So I don't think I've ever had the chance to see it for but a glance. I like the wreath and tree. I think they're cute, and cheery, but in a cool color scheme. So it made me all fuzzy and relaxed when I'm all alone. It sort of my me a little warm inside, especially on a white Christmas. :)

It was the sudden holiday themes appearing that made me aware we even had a choice of colour schemes.

Me too. ^_^ Years ago. I make other pleasant discoveries be accident every now and then.

I won't complain, but I will not be on tonight from the house, so by the time I get back to things here, my Dark Red scheme should re-assert itself.  If not, I know what to do...

So it overrides preset themes but not custom themes?

It's because some people used to complain every time about the fact that their chosen theme would be overridden three times* per year (Three times!  Outrageous!), and demanded that they be given an option for it to not happen.  Custom themes are that option.

*Christmas, Saint Patrick's Day, and April Fool's Day.

My only gripe with the Christmas theme is that I'm mildly red-green colorblind...so the lighter greens in it look, to me, more like greenish grays, but for an hour or so, one day a year?  I'm more than willing to endure it for the sake of someone else's holiday joy.
