Can you identify these lyrics?

Hi folks, I’m not on any music forums, so I thought I’d throw this out here.

At a New Year party, I heard a female-fronted rock/metal track that included the choral line:

“I’m like a dirty little toy”.

I thought it would be fairly easy to find, but Google doesn’t seem to recognize the line (or chooses not to). Anyone know what it is?

At the same party, there was a different music video of what I assumed to be Amy Lee, playing a TV announcer role and wearing a blond bobcut wig. However, a review of Amy Lee’s songs on You Tube has drawn a blank, so maybe it wasn’t her after all.

Sorry the details are a bit vague, but hey, what do you expect for New Year’s Eve? I’m surprised I remember the music at all!

Any help with these two tracks will be much appreciated. :)

Can you identify these lyrics?

Nuno Mindelis is the artist - Top of Google search. Full lyrics to the song.

That was my first find when I looked, but the Nuno Mindelis song is a blues song with a man singing about his guitar.

The closest I was able to find is a metal band called Powersurge, from their album Aftermath.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFKscZH47EA

It's a man singing, and it says "I need a dirty little toy" instead of "I'm like a dirty little toy", but I can't find anything else that fits. If that isn't it, I think the song ico heard might have been from a smaller band that hasn't made it big enough to end up on a record label yet.

As for the music video... I'm afraid my powers are not mighty enough to help with that one.

Searching "I'm like a dirty little toy" (with the quotes) in DuckDuckGo brought some rather, um, disturbing hits.  Just be careful - this might be another form of Google Seppuku.

Are you sure you didn't mean Aimee Mann (aka Mrs. Gede Lee)?

Were both of these videos?  Bands like Kittie and Band-Maid leapt to mind for the first tune, but, alas, no.  The Runaways might have done something like that (they were a proto-girl-band from back in the late seventies, featuring Lita Ford.  You might also check Suzie Quatro's catalog.  Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I searched at a popular lyrics site, but no help at all.

Re: Can you identify these lyrics?

Sounds like we're all drawing a blank. :(

Yeah, I hit the blues track and a couple of dodgy results myself.

The 'toy' track was sung by a slim blond female, dressed in the tight leathers typical of a rock band.

The other one looked like Amy Lee, formerly fronting Evanescence, another rock chick, not Aimee Mann.

Both were videos, seen at a distance at an open air event. Could have been any post-video era.

Maybe I'll see em again sometime.

Thanks for the attempt, folks. :)

Re: Can you identify these lyrics?

Hey, this was sheer luck!
I was just searching again from annoyed desperation, and I stumbled across a picture attached to some hate message accusing Avril Lavigne of being a poor imitation of Amy Lee (go figure).

The picture showed Amy Lee in a pink (not blond) bobcut wig. (Either I wasn’t seeing colours right at the party, or the screen was washed out. I’ll go with the washed out screen...) Anyway, a few minutes of reverse image searching found the track I was looking for.

Evanescence - Everybody’s Fool.

It’s an old one that I’d not paid much attention to back in the day (it’s amazing what alcohol will do for your musical appreciation) but at least it confirms I was compos mentis enough to recognize the singer. I was beginning to doubt my own sanity for a while.

Now I just need to trace those lyrics for the other track...

In reply to icosahedron152 (msg # 6):

Ah, progress!  Now you mention Evanescence, yeah, I get it.

I just had a thought on the first tune:  Look for a nice blonde lady named Storm Large.  She had a band a while back called The Balls.  Even if it's not her, some of her stuff might just trip yer trigger.
