Is there a limit on the number posts in a thread?

  there is a 'warning" when you approach 1000 posts.. I never  put a thread into achrives  until  a few posts after 1000.

   so? yeah, you can  keep going.. you can  shut down or selete a thread at anytime

The thousand-post "limit" is mostly to assist with archiving games, if you choose to do so.  If you archive a thread that has more than 1000 posts in it, you'll only get the last thousand posts...whatever's at the start of the thread is lost, at that point.

If you have no plans to archive your threads, or if you're treating, say, your OOC thread as 'disposable', you can have as many posts in it as you and your players are capable of producing (I'm in a game where the GM never archived the OOC thread, or worried about going over the limit...there's like...6,000+ posts in that thread, now...)

Also, if you go over the 1,000 post "limit", you will not be able view the whole thread using the "All" button (only a single page at a time), which makes it tricky to find a specific post that you might want to check up on.
