Hey all! I recently picked up a copy of Space 1889 and I was wondering if there was anyone on here who'd be interested in running a game! I'm very flexible when it comes to the specifics, but it seems like a neat system and setting and I'd love to play it!

Which version of Space 1889? There's the original GDW system, the Savage Worlds version, and the Ubiquity version.

The original, I found it at a yard sale!

 I have both and would be well up for it!

It's an interesting setting and I'd be up for running a game. So long as it doesn't bother you I'd be GMing a PbP game for the first time, though honestly I think PbP will suit my GM style better anyway.

Any idea what style of game you'd like to play? Or what type of character you want to play?

I don't mind if it's your first time GMing on PbP!

As for style and character, I'm pretty flexible! I haven't played it before so it's hard to say

 Modestly set spacegoing shenanigans are fun - an inventor or two pooling resources with a beached captain and some friends to explore strange corners of the solar system, archaeological antics, high adventures on Mars...

 ...I'd only suggest set a limit upon how high ranked people can be (we had a Duchess last time - perfectly lovely character, but there are like a couple dozen of those in the entire British Empire and keeping them out of danger and away from adventure became half the plot) and require folks to have reasons to hang out together.

I’d be okay with a limiting noble titles to minor nobility or something like that.

As for the campaign suggestions, that all seems good to me! I’m also definitely not afraid to delve into the grittier parts of imperialism on mars

Alright I'll create a game and we can spitball some character concepts for you guys over there. Once we've done that it'll be easier for me to decide on what sort of campaign we are going to have and start fleshing out everything as well as opening it up for RTJ*.

Once we've got your characters down probably take me a handful of days to a week to get everything up and running depending on how much inspiration strikes me.

* I do think keeping the party size relatively small is better for keeping a PbP game flowing so I'll probably limit the game to a maximum of 4 players for now.
