I discovered Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine last week and it seems perfect for play-by-post gaming with the right people. I'm impressed by the focus on character arcs and quests and the number of genres it claims to promote, each in very distinctly flavored ways.

That said, I've read a big chunk of it but having some trouble wrapping my head around some of it. Has anybody been involved with a game using it here that would allow me to lurk at how the actual play went?

There's a pay-what-you-want release for Chuubo's which contains examples of play. Maybe that will help?
