Continuation of a God Game
Around the beginning of this year, I had the rare pleasure of being in an RPoL game that had reached a satisfying conclusion. The big threat lay defeated and the story of our character's sacrifices would live on in legend forever and ever.
And yet... this spectacular event was just the concluding chapter in the first of what we were assured was a three act game. We had amassed artifacts of immense power, one-use powers that could single-handedly reshape the multiverse, and set in motion events to serve goals that would surely be talked about for eons. With the big extraplanar threat eradicated, the old worlds would awake and the politics of yesteryear would draw us into their tangled web. But we never got to see any of these happen; just as our stories were beginning, the game had ended.
So what is this mysterious, wonderful game, exactly? It is a freeform game where each player is a divine being with a realm unto themselves, one of their own creation and nuance wherein their authority and power are near absolute. While these worlds are separate, they are also connected in the branches of a vast world tree. The gods of each world gather and politick, bartering the extraordinary as mundanities to build influence and win favors amongst the court of the divines. There have been many such games on RPoL, and ours was but the latest incarnation.
Would you pick up the torch of this venerable tradition? Would you permit our gods to act once more? The rules of RPoL prohibit me from linking or naming the game publicly; if you are interested in reviving this concept, please rMail me for details. If you have questions, ask them here and I will answer as I am able.
