Seeking Rifts Game, Palladium or Savage Worlds

I would love to play a game of Savage Rifts!

I’m anxious to see how it’s adapted for the new SWADE edition of SW too....

I wouldn't mind a Rifts game.

I haven't done a Savage Rifts game yet. I had a character converted for the game but that one fell through.

Seeking Rifts Game, Palladium or Savage Worlds

I have been a long time palladium fan and just recently got into Savage Worlds rifts. I am willing to try to G.M. with the Caveat that I may need some assistance with rules mistakes. Also my track record as a G.M. is kind of poor but hey at least I will try.

I was considering doing a few solo games before I saw this thread, as too many players can become overwhelming, but if there is only a couple people interested o could probably manage up to 4. Though to be honest I would rather run two 2 player games then one 4 player. Let me know what y'all think

What exactly do you mean by moving into OCC and RCC? I get the sandbox concept, but where at in RIFTS World are you looking to place this sandbox and what kinds of sandboxy things is one trying to accomplish?

In my original idea the characters were from our mundane earth transported to Rifts Earth. Similar to the old D&D Cartoon, Image Comics new DIE series, Alice in Wonderland, Anime's Dual, El Hazard, Fushiki Yuki the Mysterious Play etc.

Since with Savage Worlds you create a character and then with Savage Rifts you place an Iconic Class on top of it, it's not too hard. I would like to go with SWADE the newest version of Savage Rifts so as new Savage Rifts books come out we are caught up. Though if the GM wished to go with Palladium Rifts or Savage Worlds Delux I would be ok with that.

I still like North America for adventuring. As for Sandboxy, seeing places, meeting characters, exploring the world and it's lore and the various places Rifts Earth and the Megaverse has to offer would be great.

In reply to CDragon (msg # 13):

Ok. In Palladium's system what you are wanting would be exponents harder than in Savage Rifts. That being said I don't have Savage Rifts and learning a new system is just beyond my time constraints at the moment. So I am gonna bow out. It sounds like a good idea and a great concept is half the battle.

For those maybe not familiar with any of the above examples. In the old D&D cartoon a college professor transported a group of gamers into the D&D world. They had classes, but no idea how to do any of the stuff. So the mage was always messing up and so on.

That would be better as I think the charm of Palladium is their clumsy old school system, but on second thought the last time I played Palladium it was as a Rifts GM here on rpol so I would rather be a player this time.

There are several of their settings I would like to try, as Splicers, Dead Reign, Nightbane, Palladium Fantasy etc.

Haven't played Splicers but have the book, Dead Reign is nigh unplayable unless you use Older Palladium weapon rules, Nightbane is fun and Palladium Fantasy is enjoyable.

Hmm never read a complaint about Dead Reign being unplayable.

Care to let me know why you think so?

From what I read so far, Nightbane seems to be a really nice and interesting game.

And Splicers, I really like the Terminator feel that it has.

Would really enjoy playing in any of these.

The big one is needing a Natural 17 roll to bash a Zombie's head in or to blow it's brains out. then there are some wonky rules about some types of weapons only doing half damage to the Undead.

Basically it makes it too hard to stop the Undead. In a good Zombie game the Undead are in small numbers easy to kill until you run into a horde of them. In Deadreign a 15th level Marine Scout/Sniper with their favorite sniper rifle has as much chance at shooting a Zombie in the head as a 1st level girlscout who has never held a firearm before.

Seeking Rifts Game, Palladium or Savage Worlds

I would interested in running a Rifts game. It would palladium, Savage Worlds is neat game but it will never capture the wholeness or nuance of rifts. You just can't pack nearly four decades of palladium into a nice neat package.

I would expect dedication to the game, a min of 3 posts per week between Monday and Friday. Weekends are optional, as long as everyone has posted the game can move forward. I'm not into your sexual fantasies, so I don't mind running a mature game but not an adult game. Sex is a fade to black thing.

Other than that it would be your usual game; no godmoding, no ego trips, no rules lawyering, no assistant gm, and no dueling to see who could win. I run the game, you run YOUR character.

All that said I am open to a lot. Rifts is a big setting afterall. As far a starting off as pre-rifts characters moved into the rifts earth, that would need a discussion.

Minimum of 4 dedicated players, will take up to six. I will not run two seperate groups on the same campaign at first. Maybe later if it goes well. The game will not be a complete sandbox, pc's can interact with the world freely but players cannot dictate how the world will be.

The game may carry a central theme or shtick and characters would need to fit in, there too is a discussion.

If anyone is interested use this thread at first.

I'd be up to give it a try. It's a mess of a game and of a system, but it's a fun and exciting  mess.

cool.

This will be a stock game using the as printed OCCs and RCCs. Anything at all outside the norm will have to be o.k. with the GM.

The setting will be in the Appalachian Mountains set near Lake Fontana, North Carolina. It is the home the 'Dragon's Tail', a twisting stretch of highway running through the mountains. It also home to unstable Rifts, Ley Lines, demensional beings, and a whole lot of magical-type-shit.

Right now I am thinking a campaign with a definite magical leaning. But, I am not looking for a game full of oddball, inter dimensional characters that can barely relate to one another. Rifts is already full of that.

I should have a game set up in a couple of days.
