Solo supernatural-mystery game.

I'm looking for a solo game in a contemporary supernatural genre, please. I love mystery and intrigue, gods and sorcerers. Preferably with some sort of sorcerer and apprentice vibe... but the key plot would revolve around an intricate mystery of your devising. Other than that, I'm pretty open to ideas.

Preferably this would be free-form. I'm looking for something akin to an interactive story.

Thank you for your time.

Hi, I might be interested. Do you have an idea for the character? Location? The kind of sorcery your PC uses?

If we start this, I think I'll make up some system for magic, but you don't have to know the system, it can work black-box-style, if you're OK with that.

I like magic that has a price, and not some spell-slot or mana-point limit on how much a mage can do. You can do things, but reality bites back if you force it to do things that are not natural.

Are you interested?

I may be interested too... but I fear our views on magic may differ. My personal views are that magic is a natural part of reality. So energetically there will be a cost (for example a small-to medium working will leave the caster feeling something ranging from a little drained to feeling fatigued and needing to recover their energy through sleep). A larger working would need more energy which may include rituals and/or empowered Objects to counter the need for extra magical energy.

I am not a fan of having a "price" for magic which basically equates to a punishment. For example... the magician suffering pain just for using magic... or receiving bad luck for casting a spell (the exception to this rule would be if a character was studying evil magics). Another example is some of the 2018 Doctor Strange comics where there is a big emphasis on magic having a "price" - I do not like that.

If that's OK with you, then I will happily answer the questions you stated above.

Thank you for your interest.
