I'm interested in a game of 5E D&D but with the flavor of Chinese wuxia and/or Japanese chanbara films and stories. Basically using 5E mechanics but with Oriental Adventures flavoring.

Anyone running or willing to run something like this?

I'd love to run one but don't have time to DM right now. Be willing to play in it though

Curious about the rules to use. Is there an Asian 5th ed set available ??

If you're just looking for the flavor of an Eastern DnD setting, there's the Oriental Adventures from 3.5. The exact numbers in the stats of monsters and such may not match 5e exactly, but the lore is there.

Honestly I think this could actually work pretty well with 'vanilla' D&D 5e as written - obviously the Monk is an East Asian fantasy class to begin with and the other characters don't need much reskinning. I think the DM's Guide even has an entry on giving Wuxia flavour.

Clarification - I'm not looking for a 1E or 3E OA game. They're both fun, but not what I'm looking for. Also not looking for extra supplements.

What I'd like is a straight 5E game mechanically, only we call our characters xia, samurai, ninja, wu jen, etc. Similarly, many monsters would be renamed/re-skinned to fit a setting based on East Asian myths/legends/pop culture.

I've been looking for the same for such a long time, but have found no interest.  If a potential GM does bite, I would love to play.  Surely, there are fans of both anime and D&D that are willing to combine the two!

Everyone seems to think you need an Asian supplement, but you don't just reskin some of the already existing things.

Hmm... I've always wanted to DM a game of D&D 5E inspired by Asian myths and legends. Today is my algebra final but I'll put something together. Who's interested?

I have no real experience with 5E but I think I would love to play in an Oriental Setting. I have played both 1E and 3E Oriental Adventures and Rogukan D20 and I always loved the scenery.
