Chapter 1

The morning comes all to quickly for Nanami. She already threw a pillow at her father for trying to wake her up. But she knew she had to as Nanami was to meet her team formally for the first time. She had met them when they were assigned, but not yet gotten to know them. She gets up slowly walking into the bathroom. Nanami takes her time getting ready. She wanted a good first impression. But they had yet to tell her where to meet.

Nanami walks towards the door "Later Father." Shikamaru nods and watches her leave.

Nanami didn't grow up in the Leaf Village. She had moved there recently at her fathers request "I do miss the sun's heat." She said as she walked. Nanami hummed cheerfully as she made her way to the academies training yard. It had a small pond, she walks out into the center of it "I might as well get in a little chakra control practice." While not very proficient in Taijutsu, she did apply an aspect of it to her training.

Nanami takes a deep breath and with a single hand makes the signs and fire heats up the area around her. Then with the other hand she makes another series of hand signs and the wind picks up. She knew her elements worked in concert, she just hadn't figured out the best way to combine them. Her two jutsu however seemed like they were meant for each other. They wen't together seamlessly.

The aspect of Taijutsu she implemented was the movement, which was the only part Nanami really was proficient with. Dodging, ducking, weaving, dancing. Nanami used these movements and danced in-between the spaces the wind and fire had left open for her. She practices like this until someone appears.

Chapter 1

"Sigmund wake up! It's your first day with your squad and already you're late!" a woman's voice could be heard from upstairs to his bedroom. Sigmund still laid sound asleep in his bed. All he really heard was a feint voice. He was too busy dreaming.

  Sigmund's dream:

He wielded a bone sword, waving it around at bandits in front of his home. They had smug faces and his parents could be seen in the background, frightened. The first thug charged him with a blade of his own. Sigmund took a defensive position and blocked the attack and then swiftly countered just as quickly. He managed to not only slice the thug's arm off, but also managed to slice the other two bandits' arms as well. His parents looked at him with horror. They thought of him as a monster, but Sigmund felt good. He felt power...He felt...hungry?

Sigmund had quickly woken up. His breathing was heavy, but lighten in seconds. That was the second time I've had thoughts about power...but why? he asked himself. His thoughts were interrupted when his bedroom door slammed wide open.

"Sigmund! Your mother has been yelling at you for 30 minutes now! Get up and get ready! You're suppose to be meeting your sensei today!" his father scolded him for sleeping in.

A groggy Sigmund leaned all the way up, his hair a mess and his eyes only half-way open. His father just looked at him and shook his head before he closed the door to Sigmund's room .

He blinked a few times before swinging his legs over his bed. His feet touched the floor and he closed his eyes, letting the rest of his grogginess wash away. He rose to his feet and quickly striped his night clothes and dressed in his usual outfit: black tank top with a white button up and a black coat right over followed by his pants and ninja shoes. He combed his hair which fell a little over his forehead.

He gave himself a quick prayer of luck as he headed downstairs and quickly ate breakfast. His father had already taken off to his usual farming job. His mother always stayed home and sometimes conversed with friends later that day. He gave his mother a quick kiss on the forehead and he was out the door with a pouch in hand. He tied the pouch to his back on his waist and quickly like a ninja, headed to the said meeting their sensei has sent out earlier that week.

He came to the academy training grounds. Once he arrived, he finally took his time walking in and finding the actual grounds. From the distance, he could see a girl about his age 'dancing' around, or at least that's what it looked like to him.

He didn't right away walk up to her. He kind of just made his way her way, his hands in his pocket and head down, his bangs falling over his eyes.

Chapter 1

Akuma woke with a jolt ready for the day to begin. He was going to be meeting his new students today. It was going to be an exciting adventure seeing as how they were his first Genin. Of course he wasn't going to let them know that. Or would he? All the what if's raced through his mind as he hurriedly dressed and groomed himself for the day. As he raced through the door he said a quick good morning to his mother.

When Akuma arrived at the training grounds he saw that two young ninja were already there.
'Two out of three' He thought to himself. 'It'd be best if I see how they interect with each other and what I can figure out about them first.'

With that thought he quickly jumped onto the top of the academy building to watch the two students. One seemed to be performing a personal training exercise. He had to commend her on the willingness to work diligently. He then focused his attention at the other young man. It appeared that he was keeping his distance. Akuma was sure that the young man would quickly warm up to his companions. He sat up and waited for his final student to arrive.

Chapter 1

[Secret to Kenji Akuma: Your last squad member will be late due to the player being at work currently, so try to continue without them. They'll catch up.]

Sigmund just kept watching her with grace. It reminded him of himself with his own dance attack. He couldn't help but feel eyes on him though, but it was something he grew use to at this point in his life. Everybody had knew he was adopted and abandon. Usually people stared at him because he could be weird and odd, or for the simple fact that he was just a loner while females around his age stared at him to take in his handsomeness.

He finally got closer to the girl, who he believed was probably his squad mate. Keeping that in mind, he wondered if the final member would be here anytime soon. A feeling of relief washed over him because he at least knew he wasn't entirely late.

He tried to walk up to the girl, wanting to introduce himself so he can get it out of the way and then proceed to stay quiet after that.

Chapter 1

The Yamada Household

"Nori! Hurry up you're going to be late!" Nori Yamada's mom called up the stairs to her youngest daughter. Nori, a young girl of 15, had woken up late that morning having gone off and done a little extra training in preparation for today. It was finally the day that she would be meeting her squad for the first time, so she was anticipating just who she was getting placed with. "I'm cominggggg!" she called back to her mom from her room as she finished getting ready. She threw on a pair of black, cargo shorts, a burgundy tank top, and a pair of worn out shoes that she used only when training. She tossed her hair up into a ponytail and put on a black wristbands on each of her wrists before she hurried out of her bedroom and down the stairs. Her mom, already knowing how her daughter was, was at the door with a homemade bento and a few pieces of toast and an apple. "You better hurry. You don't want to keep your new squad waiting."

"Yeah yeah. I know. I'm sorry. I slept in on accident," Nori said as she took the bento and toast from her mom and opened the door. "Thanks for this. I'll see you later." Her mom nodded and Nori hurried out the door with a piece of toast in her mouth. It was about ten minutes later that she finally arrived on the training grounds. She saw two of her squad members already there and from this distance, she didn't recognize them. Then again, the guy with his back turned to her looked kinda familiar. Or at least his walking posture was. She would have to see his face first to make sure. "Sorry I'm late, guys!" she called out to them and hurried over to them.

Chapter 1

Nanami seems really into her training. Her comrades watching her would see as her hair would whip into the empty spaces in between the flames and wind. Her leg and arm follow suit. nanami dances through the mini tornado that surrounds her. But eventually her chakra slips enough to where she can't effectively control the jutsu and her body. Nanami comes to a stop and without realizing it forgets to keep the chakra on her feet maintained and falls into the water with a small yelp.

Nanami comes back up to the surface and that's when she notices the rest of her team was all watching her, she dips her head under the water. Blushing with embarrassment from falling in the water. Nanami's head sinks into the water, to where just her nose and eyes were above the water line. She waves at everyone..

Chapter 1

Sigmund watched the whole event unfold. He watched in awe for the whole thing until his team mate seemed to struggle with the chakra control and she eventually fell into the water. At that point, he just smirked and turned to his other squad mate. Great. I'm surrounded by women. He sighed and waited patiently for their jonin to show up hopefully. He couldn't help but at least worry about the girl though.

He moved towards the pool of water and squatted, his arms resting on his knees and looked at her. "You okay?" he asked her quietly.

Chapter 1

Nori stopped in her tracks as she watched, what was assumed to be her other teammate, dance within the small tornado that surrounded her. Part of her was in awe at the sight and the other part of her couldn't help but actually wonder if she was just showing off. Either way, she seemed interesting enough. She couldn't wait to see what else she was capable of. When she saw her male teammate look at her, she just stared at him. Wait a minute. Wasn't that the loner guy from the class next to her's at the academy? Akitoki or something, right? So he was going to be on this squad, too, huh? She didn't know too much about him, but was curious to know more.

It was then her attention was diverted to her female teammate lose control of her chakra and fall into the water. She set her bento down on the ground and went over to where her fallen comrade was. She also knelt down beside the male. "Yeah. Are you alright?" she asked before she extended a hand out to the girl. "That was a pretty nasty fall. Come on. Let's get you out of here before you catch a cold, huh? Can't catch one of those now, can we?"

Nanami accepts her hand and with Nori's help, she gets up out of the water. She takes care not to get her teammates wet. Nanami steps back and bows "I am Nara Nanami." She holds her hand out to Nori and her other hand to Akitoki. She was all smiles and quite chipper. Even after falling into the pond.

Nori wrapped her fingers around Nanami's hand and helped pull her out of the water before she let go of it. When the girl bowed at them, she couldn't help but blink at her. "Oh, uh, yeah. Hey. I'm Nori Yamada. Nice to meet you," she said and took hold of her hand again to shake it. She wasn't used to people being so nice to her much less come near her. People were always so intimidated to come near her, but she was always so fairly receptive towards others. True she did like to get into fights every now and then, but it was only when she felt she had to. It wasn't as if she just went up to people and started fights with them. That wasn't who she was, but she seemed to be perceived as such.

Sigmund moved aside to allow room for Nanami to get pulled out. Once on her feet, she had extended both her hands out to them and greeted herself with her name as did his other female mate, Nori.
He sighed quietly to himself before he extended his arm out and shook Nanami's hand. "Sigmund," he said quietly as he retreated his arm to his side. Now that the introductions were out of the way, he yet wondered where on earth was their Jonin.

Nanami bounces around both of them, she exceedingly excited to meet both of her teammates. She peers at Sigmund "The quiet tough guy, hmmm.." She looks around for where she placed her pack "Almost forgot, father packed snacks." she holds out a sweet bean bun to each of them. Even with her hands full, her mouth holds the bun she had taken for herself. It would be quite a silly sight. But this is just how she is.

Chapter 1

Nori watched Nanami bounce in excitement around them and couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at her. She certainly was all peppy and cheerful, wasn't she? It was foreign to her. She had never been around someone like that before. She had met people that were rowdy and annoying and she could only hope that this girl wasn't like that. She seemed nice enough. She then looked over to Sigmund. Him. He seemed like the quiet type that rarely spoke, which was cool. Kinda made him mysterious in a sense. Nori's eyes turned towards Nanami again and looked down to the sweet bean bun that was offered to her. Her eyes slightly widened as she reached out and gently took it from the girl's hand. "Oh, uh, t-thank you. I actually really love these," she said.

Chapter 1

Akuma smiled as he saw that the three students had finally started to warm-up to each other. Hopefully this meant that they would quickly learn how to work as a team. He started to stand when he saw one of the students pull out some sort of food. His eyes widened and his stomach rumbled loudly. If only he had actually ate before leaving the house this situation would be avoidable. All he could hope for now is that she would have brought enough to share with the class.

Upon this thought he stood on the edge of the building looking over his students. Then he jumped to the lake. As he landed on the water he focused chakara to his feet and landed quietly behind Nanami.

"I hope you brought enough for the class, because I am famished. Honestly, you would be surprised what forgetting to eat breakfast would do. I would not advise it at all. As a matter of fact that's lesson number one. Always eat at least 2 full meals a day. You'll need it."

She looked further into her pack "Of course father would make sure I have these awful tasting things." She takes a small baggie "Energy and chakra pills. He says I must take them daily in order to become strong." She winces as she eats them "Uck.. but he is right. It has boosted my chakra.. Mother made me eat them to. So I imagine they are a necessity." She then smiles at all of them.

Sigmund had only shook his head to the offer of food. Sweet treats were not hot thing, especially this early. After declining Nanami's offer, a strange man had decended onto the water from above and literally "walking on water." Sigmund knew how to do that. The trick was focusing chakra to the soles of your feet and evenly balanced it.

When the Jonin advised to always have breakfast, he rolled his eyes. He rarely ever ate breakfast. He never felt the need for it actually. He always woke up too late to have such things. He eventually started to listen to Nanami talk away. She was quite the chatter box he thought. Oh well he thought as he shrugged his shoulders to himself.

"Nice for you to join us, sensei," she said before she looked over to Nanami as she ate what appeared to be some pills. They were energy and chakra pills? She blinked. "Hey, uh. Either way he was going to get their training started. He wanted to get through this step and soon as possible and get them started on missions.

"I'm glad you've all gotten to know one another." He managed to mumble between bites. "I am going to be your squad leader. We're going to train today so I can gauge your abilities."

He walked off the water and and stood in the center of the small grouping. He turned around and looked each of them over slowly. Then he smiled gently and let out a quick chuckle.

"I'd also like to let you know that this is my first time training a squad of Genin. Hopefully we will all be able to work together and get through this safely."

She smiled again "So what do you have in store for us? The bell test, target practice, visual practice?" She went on to list another three or four things before being quiet. Nanami blinks "Oh yeah sorry Nori.. I have spare energy pills, but my father rations out the chakra pills. The energy ones have nearly four hundred percent of all of the vital daily vitamins. If you want, I can inquire with father about getting an extra ration of the chakra pills?" She tosses one to Nori..

Sigmund had just stood there quietly, hands in his pockets, and an expressionless face on. He wasn't pay attention to either of the girls the moment the Jonin has appeared. Nori had called him sensei so Sigmund assumed that this man was their squad leader.

Sigmund looked him up and down with his eyes, coming to the conclusion that he was awfully young and didn't seem too far from his age at all. His thoughts were confirmed when their sensei said this was his first squad he had ever trained. Great. He's new to this just as we are. Hopefully things will go smoothly. he thought to himself.

The girls continued to chat away and Sigmund honestly only wanted to start this already. He swallowed hard and barely above a whisper, he said,"What's are training for the day? I'm ready to get this started." He came off almost as impatient and he didn't mean to.

Nori bit into the bun that Nanami had given her as her eyes followed their squad leader come into the center of the small circle they had formed. So he was going to be heading this little group of theirs, huh? This was going to be interesting. He couldn't have been too much older than they were. She was curious to know what kind of insight this person could give to them. She was more than ready to show just what she was capable of. She had been training for this day and finally all her hard work was going to be paying off.

"Well, you are doing a good job so far, sensei. You managed to test our detection skills by keeping yourself hidden away like that," she said with a small smirk before she heard Nanami speak to her again. She turned her head and reached up her free hand to catch the energy pill the girl tossed at her. "Thanks, Nanami." She smiled and popped the pill in her mouth before she went back to eating her bun. Her eyes slowly averted back to Sigmund that had spoken up before she looked back to the man that was going to be their squad leader. "Ummm...I think before anything, shouldn't we know your name first, sensei? You know, just so we know what to call you," she said as she slightly tilted her head to the side.

He concentrated hard and when he finally felt both his feet had an even amount of chakra, he opened his eyes and walked forward. He slowly placed one foot onto the water's surface and his foot was literally hovering over the water. He placed his other foot onto the water too and he stood there. Once he knew he was okay and balanced, he walked forward towards his Sensei and was literally walking on the water's surface. He was ready to start running his laps.    Sigmund nodded his head and began running his laps once he was accompanied by Nori. He began running, pacing himself. He knew training was going to take a lot of energy and he honestly was excited. Eventually through his second lap, his jacket became a problem so he took a small 3-second break to strip and toss his jacket onto the ground, leaving him with his white button up which he also stripped off, and was left in a black tank top with an upside down cross on it.

It felt better without all the heavy clothing. He continued his laps without saying much to Nori. It wasn't that he didn't want to say anything but he was the silent shy type and was more focused on getting this done. After all, he viewed himself as the best and would continue to become the best.

He had finished his laps by now. He had beads of sweat streaming down his forehead and had quickly glanced over his other teammate, Nanami who still hadn't pulled off the task yet. He frowned and felt bad for her. She had just been performing some quick and unique moves and now she couldn't even do anything. He yet wondered if it were because of those chakra pills she took earlier. Those things always had side effects for people their age. Their body could only hold so much chakra in their system because they were still growing and learning to use chakra in new areas.

Sigmund made his way to Nanami and their Sensei and walked up to her, holding his hand out towards here. "Focus. Take my hand and focus. Focus on making the chakra flow to the soles of your feet and keep it here. Balance it and once you touch the water, release. You're not emitting enough if you're falling through," he tried to encourage and kept his hand extended out to her. "Use me so you won't fall in," he added. This was him being friendly now.

Nanami makes a serious face as she steps out. Her foot steps onto the water, her foot doesn't go through this time. She jumps up and down on the "Hmm, guess mom was right. A little help does go a long ways." Nanami smiles at Sigmund "Thank you Sigmund-kun.." She looks at her sensei as they walked out to the center of the pond. She takes a deep breath "May want to step back a few paces. I mean you can stand in the wind and fire with me if you wish to." She shrugs and brings up both hands "So you wanted to see what I did before, its my two offensive based jutsu used in combination. Wind and fire go together easier then any other combination. Well next to water and lightning."

She starts weaving two sets of handseals. Within moments a circle of flame goes around her. Then almost as soon as that finished, a gust of wind picks up and almost like fuel on a fire. It erupted around her. Nanami extends both arms and the space between her and the inferno around her widens "I suppose as well as trapping someone inside and closing the space, I can use it as a shield as well.." She was breathing heavier as the each minute passed "Holding it in place is draining."

Chapter 1

Nori nodded when Kenji told her and Sigmund to run ten laps around the water and she started to run along with Sigmund. This was why she was always constantly running and training. To build up her stamina and energy. She may not have even needed that little pill, but kf never hurt to have that extra little boost of energy, right? It was as she started to do her laps that her eyes glanced over to the male beside her. They slightly widened when she saw him start to strip away layers of his clothes and for a moments, she lost her concentration and the tip of her foot dipped into the water but she refocused her chakra and looked forward. She couldn't afford to have any distractions, especially from a boy.

The two of them continued running in silence, wanting to talk to Sigmund but it seemed like he wasn't interested in talking to her. He seemed like the quiet type that didn't say much, but it also seemed like he focused on doing this, too, so she didn't want to distract him. Within time, Nori finished with her laps and stopped to catch her breath but still maintained balance on the water. She turned her head and saw Nanami having a bit of struggle with getting on the water, so when her male teammate made his way over to their other teammate, she followed in suit after him. She stopped along with him and placed her hands on her hips as Sigmund began to speak. That was probably the most he ever talked. "He's right, Nanami. You can do this!" she said with an encouraging smile and when the girl finally did, causing Nori to lightly clap.

Chapter 1

Nanami was able to accomplish her water walking skills. He eventually pulled his arm back down to his side and just watched his team mate practically show off for their Sensei but she was instructed to so he guess that was okay. He just shrugged his shoulders and kept on the side, walking off the water and watch from the side. He didn't quite know what to do at this point. Their Sensei was busy but he was okay with that. Sigmund figured sometimes students need one on one.

Nori watched as Nanami made her way towards the center of the pond before she began to reenact what she had done earlier for their sensei. Deciding to let the girl have some space to do her thing, she made her way off of the pond and over to stand beside Sigmund that was now on land at the pond's edge. She clasped her hands behind her and turned around to face the water. There was a minute or two of brief silence before she smirked. "You're a pretty fast runner, Siggy," she said, deciding to give her new teammate a nickname. "You must train really hard to obtain that kind of speed and stamina. Do you work out or anything like that?"

Sigmund hadn't paid much attention to either of his team mates but he felt a bit rude when Nori had began talking to him and had called him "Siggy" which sounded God awful as it sounded. He didn't reply right away and he didn't even look up at her when he finally did. "I train like anybody my age should to be the best and get stronger. I train alone," he said quietly.

The nickname had sounded a bit funny after hearing herself say it, but she only hoped her new teammate knew that it was only a joke to lighten the mood. "Well, you do seem like the type to train or do anything alone," she said before she turned her head and looked over at Sigmund. "But I'm that way, too. I like to train alone, but training with other people can be beneficial, too. I don't know if you'll be up to it, but maybe you and I can try it together sometime." His answer was most likely going to be no just like it usually was when she tried to be friendly with someone and they gave her the brush off. At least with Sigumund he seemed relatively kinder than most boys she's ever talked to.

He smirked when she offered they train together. The thought of someone helping him out or trying to keep up with him was hilarious to him. "Could you even keep up?" he asked her. He only remembers Nori from an occasional classmate who he never hung out with, well not anybody for that. He did see her play with other guys but that was all. He never once seen her in action nor had he ever seen her perform any jutsus or fighting style.

"I think the real question is, can you keep up with me?" She smirked.

He didn't respond right away, as he thought it over. He was sure about one thing though: he could beat her without a doubt. He was fast and had probably opposite jutsus against hers. "Yeah, I could. I beat you in our laps, didn't I?" he pointed out, which was true. He had finished before her and although dripping with sweat from it, he still finished and still had some energy for something. With that said, he grabbed his shirt and jacket and put them back on, buttoning up his shirt only half way before placing his black jacket over and leaving that open.

Nori couldn't help but let out a light hearted chuckle upon hearing his response. "For being such a quiet guy, you are quite cocky, aren't you? You may have beat me in laps, but that doesn't mean you know what I'm capable of. A lot of people underestimate me, but that's a mistake," she said and looked over at Sigmund once more, not being able to stop herself from noticing his sweat drenched physique. We're guys their age supposed to look like that? She lightly blushed and cleared her throat before she looked back out towards the water. "I bet I could keep up with you. Try me, Siggy." It was true that a lot of people thought that she couldn't handle herself or be as tough as the next guy, but she was much stronger than people gave her credit for. Especially boys.

Chapter 1

At that point Sigmund didn't say much. He just let out a smirk as if the whole ordeal of them ever playing around and goofing off would actually happen. He didn't have time for nonsense, especially with a girl who seemed cocky and playful. He remained quiet and just looked at Nanami and their sensei, who continued to show off and demonstrate her earlier practicing when he had gotten here.

"Not now. You would be wasting my time," he had finally spoke after a few minutes of silence. It probably came out rude, but he didn't mean it. He was just a serious guy who didn't like fooling around too much. It was nothing against her, it was just he was more awaiting on starting their training today rather than challenge a team mate to various tasks.

Chapter 1

Nori noted the silence that Sigmund gave her when he didn't respond right away and she could already determine that he wasn't going to be an easy guy to convince. He probably didn't know that she woke up at dawn, ran, and trained hard every morning. If there was one thing about her that no one really knew it was that she was hardworking at everything she did. Sigmund seemed like a serious and determined individual when the came to training, but she was, too. Maybe she wanted to train with him to show what she could do and that she was capable of doing what he could, but then again, she had always struggled to be accepted by other people because she was much different than girls her age. Nori moved her eyes down to the floor and lightly pouted. "I didn't mean to imply that I wanted to train now, but fine. I was just trying to find something we could do to get to know each other a little better, but nevermind," she said in a low tone before she turned on her heel and with folded arms, started to walk along the edge of the pond.

Nori didn't know what if was about herself that made people want to keep their distance. Maybe she was selfish in thinking that she was the reason why, but every since she was a kid, no one was every really her friend. It wasn't that she didn't try, but a lot of girls didn't want to be friends with someone that acted like a boy and a lot of boys didn't want to come near her because she was nothing like a girl. Was it not okay for a girl to be tough and unique in their own way? What did she have to do to be accepted by others? Would she always be a loner for the rest of her life? Maybe it would be easier if she was. Nori folded her arms across her chest and lightly shook her to stop the tears from falling before she stopped by a tree and jumped up to sit on the large branch that overlooked the pond. A sigh escaped her as she brought up her legs and hiked them up to her chest before she wrapped her arms around them.

From the corner of his eyes, he could clearly see Nori's depressing reaction to his rejection of training sometime. He frowned a bit, feeling more guilty than ever now. He turned her way and watched as she had jumped into a tree and just pouted there. It looked as if she wanted to cry. He sighed heavily. He wasn't going to apologize, he knew that for sure, but he could at least lighten up, or at least make up for it.

Sigmund reached into his back pouch, pulling out a kunai knife. His hand was around the hilt. He just looked at it for a moment before he entangled one of his fingers in the handle hole and pulling his arm back and then quickly swished his arm forward, letting go the kunai knife, heading towards Nori. The kunai hit the tree branch she was in, making a small sound as the knife was stabbed into the tree. He looked straight her way. It was his invitation for a spare match. Nori just sat there looking down at Sigmund until he threw another kunai at the tree branch, causing her to unravel her arms from around her legs and stand up. Was this his way of being nice to her? She contemplated a few moments, watching him take off his coat and shirt until he was in his black tank top again. She blushed. Did he really have to do all that? She couldn't help but notice his physique and how much stronger he looked than her, but that wasn't going to stop her from backing off from a challenge. A smirk curved on her lips. "I think you're the one that's going to be taught a lesson," she said before she jumped off from the tree branch and floated down to the ground. She got into her fighting stance with one leg behind her and her left arm extended out with her palm up. She beckoned Sigmund to her. "Bring it on, Siggy."

She took her fighting stance, but he had better plans. Without another second to stall, he gathered chakra in his hands to create a ball of electrical energy. Nori took a few steps to her left then to her right, keeping her eye on the chakra that was building up in Sigmund's hands. This was her opportunity to go with a full frontal attack. She was fast, so she should be able to dodge it with no problem. It was just as she took off towards her teammate that she saw him launch the ball of electricity at her. Without being able to get away from it in time, she stopped herself in her tracks and braced herself for impact. When the ball hit her, she flung back but did a backflip in the air and landed on her feet. She charged towards Sigmund and quickly crouched down, placing her palms on the ground and bringing her leg around to swiftly deliver a roundhouse kick.

A small grunt could be heard from him as he landed on the ground.

He took a few seconds to get up before he leaned up and charged chakra into his hands again. She was too close for him to move away quickly, so why not blow her away from him again. It looked like she was going to have to stick to what she knew best, but...she may just have a few extra tricks up her sleeve that might work. She mumbles something to herself "That would hav been more fun then this." She seemed to be almost pouty in her exhausted state.

She stares up into the sky, wondering what to do next. Or waiting to see what their Sensei would have them do next. She attempts to weave a small bird out of wind chakra. But it fades "I will get this down at some point." She says quietly. Her head tilts back to Sigmund and Nori. Nanami watches curiously, wondering what will happen next.

Nanami looks over at him "And here I thought I might get a few minutes rest after tiring myself out." She shrugs and bring a hand up, she then vanishes and appears on a branch above Akuma. She swings down, hanging from the branch with her legs "So whats the training Sensei?" She asked in a somewhat tired and low voice "I hope your not expecting another five minute training like I just did."

Chapter 1

He looked up at Nanami and then back down to the other two. He really didn't have much in terms of training exercises, but he would figure something out. He furrowed his brow and took a deep breath in concentrating on all that he had gathered about the students this far. Then he took that information and formed a challenge about it. He smirked then jumped down to the ground.

"If you want a mission by tomorrow you all have to pass a simple challenge. I assume the three of you are up for the task?"

Chapter 1

Nanami looks at him and grins "You know instead of asking, maybe just tell us. Its not like we are going to say no, when you tell us we won't get a mission if we don't.." She sticks her tongue out and uses a finger to pull down her lower eyelid, making a silly face at Akuma. After which she swings herself back up to a sitting position, pulling out a piece of candy and eats it as she waits to see what will happen next..

Oddly she thinks about what will happen next a lot. Rather it be a hypothetical situation or a situation that had already taken place. Nanami's thumbs rotate around themselves, and her legs swing freely. Making sure of course not to hit Akuma.

Sigmund looked right at his sensei when he mentioned a simple challenge. "I'm ready, sensei. Just give me the word and I'll do it," he eagerly said and waited for a response. Although their sensei mentioned the simple, he had a gut feeling it was going to be much harder than what was said. Hmph. No matter, I'll get this done like it's an E-rank mission. he thought over and waited for further instruction.

Nori watched as Kenji jumped up onto the branch that she was on not too long ago and although she still felt a small tingling sensation in her leg, she stood upright and hobbled over a few steps towards the tree. When they were asked if they were ready for a challenge, she smiled. Finally! We're gojng to get started she thought silently and clenched her hand into a fist at her side. She looked over at Sigmund. She was going to get better and better him one day. He would see. "Bring on the challenge, sensei," she said and turned her attention back to Kenji. "What's it going to be?"

He hopped down from the branch he was sitting on and landed next to Nori. He smirked to himself and looked over his students again. He knew two things. The first was that his students were very eager to work. The second was that they were going to sweat. He tunred so that all three could hear him clearly.

" I think that we are going to start fairly easy. I honestly think that a simple kunai recovery test or a chakara control test is below the three of you. So I am going to as the three of you to follow me. There is a small building here withing the village meant for more elaborate tests and training exercises."

With that he began to walk away towards the building he had just mentioned.

Chapter 1

Sigmund looked at him in confusion. Well his sensei was right about one thing: a simple kunai or chakra control exercise was way below their skill level. They needed something better; they needed more of a challenge. Kenji-sensei mentioned a building inside the village where he planned to have them begin. Sigmund tried to pond over such a building, but he didn't remember any such building was in the village. He let a slight frown appear on his face and quietly followed Kenji-sensei, with or without his teammates. On his way to following Kenji, he picked up his coat and shirt from the dirt, dusting it off along the way.

They are amazing. But I want to be the best.. period. So I am aiming a bit high. But I want to be better then both of them combined."

Nanami smiles brightly as it seemed like she was recalling a good memory. Her ponytail swings from side to side, she starts humming, waiting to reach the destination they were going to find.

Nori watched Kenji landed beside her and blinked at him, listening to him speak about a building that was in the village that they were going to training in. She hadn't remembered such a place being in the village. With as much training as she did, she would have heard of a place like that, but she wasn't about to ponder over that now. If it was going to help her get stronger then she was going to do it. "Lead the way, sensei!" she said in an enthusiastic voice and a clutched fist as she followed in step with Sigmund. She clasped her hands behind her back and looked over at her teammate. "I bet you're really excited to start real training, huh, Siggy?"

Chapter 1

Akuma listened as the three genin followed behind him. He wandered for a while before coming to a rather residential looking building. That's because the building they had arrived to was none other than the home of their sensei. With permission from their Hokage he had built a large room under his house for him to train in and practice his crystal jutsu without disrupting the village. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a key before unlocking the door. As he opened it he turned around to the three.

"I'm going to ask that you do your best not to touch or break anything. I've spent quite a while gathering and collecting all of the items that are in here. Most of them are mementos from missions. I'd give you a tour, but you're here to train."

As he finished he turned back around and disappeared inside.

Chapter 1

Sigmund had followed with the group and they came to a large building practically in the middle of the village. It was huge! Sigmund was surprised how big it was because it was as big as the Hokage's building. The sensei had warned them not to touch anything or break anything because he had valuable items inside. Although Sigmund was a curious guy sometimes, he knew when to respect his teachers' wishes. He had nodded his head and followed pursuit and went wide eyed when he came inside.

It was incredible. All the items, all the glory; there were high value things here and he definitely wanted to touch or even ask about all his sensei's stories, but their sensei pointed they were here to train, not explore or get a tour. It dawned on Sigmund that this was definitely where their sensei lived.

She looks at each memento, as they walked. She's probably like the other two were, curious about the stories behind the memento's she saw. A grand variety of interesting and exotic things peaked her interest. Part of her would rather hear the stories, then train.

She wondered what type of training we would do in such a place. Being underground she could only imagine. So Nanami treated it like anything else and hummed and smiled as they walked.

When the group of them came to a stop at what looked like a residential building, Nori looked up at it and blinked. What place was this? Was this really where they were going to train? How was that possible? It looked like a place someone lived in. It was then that she saw him tags out a key snd opened the door. Her head tilted to the side to peek inside, but then their sensei turned around to face them, telling them not to touch or break anything because of its value and worth. "Maybe you can give us a tour later, sensei. I'm sure your home is really nice," she said with a smile before she saw him turn around and walk inside. She walked into the house after their sensei and looked around the first room they walked into. This place really was big and it looked like it held a lot of expensive stuff, too. She had to be careful that's for sure.

"Perhaps if you all do well I will even treat you to dinner alongside a tour. It really depends on if you have all succeeded or not."

He hummed to himself as he walked down several hallways. He would look over his shoulder every few feet to ensure that his students had not wandered or touched anything. He was a friendly man, but he did value his belongings greatly. Eventually he comes to a large door with several locks on it and begins to undo them all. As he does he tilts his head to the side a bit and informs the genin of what they are about to encounter.

"The first of your worries in this room is going to be the vast amount of crystal shards. They can be sharp and cause harm if you are not careful. On top of that there are typical things you should look for. Hidden pitfalls, air cannons which launch kunai, swinging blades, et cetera. There are 6 passages that you may venture into all of which will lead back to the center. All of which hold different challenges. I will hide an object in either the central room or one of the passages. I expect you to work as a team to find it."

As he finished he opened the door and held his hand out offering for the students to make their way down a dimly lit flight of stairs. Now all he had to do was decide what the object was going to be. Perhaps it would himself? What better training exercise than hide and seek?

Nanami listens and thinks. Her mind starts working, after he said "what" could be inside. Who knows if anything is. But she was certain this would be fun no matter what. She hummed a happy tune as she thought more and deeper. When their Sensei pointed down a flight of stairs. It made her grow even more curious "Sensei, I get to pick the place to eat. This will be fun." she makes girly happy noises. But behind her eyes the seriousness of her ninja way hides.

She didn't fully think it would be just a walk. She decides if space allowed her, she would walk on the ceiling. Once Nanami descended down the stairs like this "You never know, this could be the beginning of the test." For someone who acts as girly as she does, she definitely has her wits about her.

Chapter 1

Sigmund and the group had walked for what felt like forever in dark hallways that echoed with every step they took. His sensei would occasionally look at them, which Sigmund assumed was to make sure they still didn't touch anything.

By the end of their walk, they approached a huge door with many locks. Kenji-sensei unlocked them all and explained that the room contained even more crystal, but it could be very harmful if not careful. The mention of danger had his blood going at this point. The unknown was something he loved the most. Danger was his middle name.

Their sensei went on to tell them that there was practically traps inside, from pitfalls to cannons shooting kunais at them to blades that could potentially slice them all up. Sigmund's heart began to beat faster, his palms getting a bit clammy.

They were told about six passages that all lead to the same destination, but each was unique in their own way with different amounts of traps and the mass unknown. Their true goal was to find an hidden object within the passages, but that's where Sigmund grew confused. If he hides a object, how are we suppose to know which passage? What exactly is the object? What if we take the wrong passage to begin with? What if we don't find it in the first 5 passages? Many, many thoughts raced through Sigmund's head. The vast amount of questions he had certainly made him become unsure of this whole ordeal.

Teamwork is definitely going to go into play here, whether anybody likes it or not. The thought of teamwork was unsettling for Sigmund because he usually worked alone for the most part and having two 'weak' girls on his squad made him grown to the thought. Great; they'll probably be damsel in distresses. This is going to be so wonderful

"Kenji-sensei, what is the object we are to be searching for?" he asked curiously. He knew most likely their sensei won't tell them, because what's the fun in that?

Chapter 1

Nori walked behind their sensei as he led them through several different hallways. She couldn't help but wonder just what this place was like that he was taking them to. Somehow it made her seem a little uneasy, but he wouldn't take them to a place that could potentially get them killed, right? She lightly shook her head. That wasn't possible. He wouldn't do that...would he? Then again, maybe he would. Whatever it was he had in store for them, she was ready for the challenge he was going to face them with. They soon approached a rather large door with tons of locks on it. She blinked at it and quirked an eyebrow. Why did it have so many of them on there?

Nori watched as their sensei undid the locks one by one and heard him start to explain just what to expect when they passed through this door. Crystal shards that could potentially be fatal should they not be careful enough. Hidden pitfalls. Air cannons with kunai inside. Swinging blades. This wasn't going to be easy, wasn it? Then again she didn't expect it to be. This was training and it was never an easy thing to do. When he had told them that there would be something hidden in either the center of a room or one of the hidden paths, she couldn't help but tilt her head to the side and think just what it was that they were going to find. This was a bit fun the more she thought about it, though. It was almost like a scavenger hunt with a prize at the end. What was it going to be?

Just as she was about to speak up about what their hidden object would be, Nori heard Sigmund ask the question first and she looked over at him. He looked curious but had that determination in his gaze. She couldn't but wonder what was going in his head. Somehow she felt that he was thinking her and Nanami were going to get in his way in this challenge. He was the type to do things alone after all. Nori knew she was going to have to give this her all so she wasn't a burden to either of her teammates.

The light that was activated by his action lit up a large cavernous room. In it were the large shard of crystal he had warned about. Some even forming as stalagmites. The pathways could been seen circling around the rooms. As he allowed his students to take it in he finally spoke.

She pauses for a second "These hallways, that are trapped. What measures are we allowed to take. Typically when I train to defend against ranged weapons. I use my wind jutsu or substitution jutsu with a paperbomb attached, just in case one is a ninja in hiding. But in an enclosed space it would probably cause a bit of damage."

Sigmund remained quiet once his question was answer. That left him with planning, picking the right passage so they don't have to retrace their steps, and whether or not he'll be in the form of an object or himself and whether he would be migrating constantly or remain stationary. He decided to plan while the other two kept asking their questions. He was one to plan first then execute. This training would definitely require some teamwork after all.

Chapter 1

He moved to the center of the large room and raised his voice so that his students could hear him. He smiled and then formed a shadow jutsu of himself.

"I am going to hide in a single place. I will not move after I decide my spot." He then pointed to his clone "This handsome guy is going to let you know when I am ready. I'm going to transform in a piece of crystal. It will be roughly the size of a fist."

He then looks up and points to the crystal protruding from the walls and ceiling.

"As you can see the color of my crystal is red. I'd advise to look for something different. Also, this entire room and cave system are built so that nothing short of a tailed beast can destroy it. Just be careful to not harm each other and all will be well."

With that he took of down one of the many halls. He found a good spot to rest and stopped. When he did the clone spoke up and let them know before vanishing in a cloud of smoke. Then with little to no effort he became a fist sized purple crystal laying on the ground. If the genin were to notice the gem was almost shaped like Akuma's face.

Chapter 1

The three Genin watched their Sensei vanish, leaving them with the choice to pick which passage to take first.

The first passage was on the far left of them. It seemed completely dark as if no light was  present at all.

The second passage was right next to the first on the right. Peering inside, it looked like many crystals surrounded almost the whole passage way, leaving the contents inside still a mystery.

The third passage was directly in front of them and next to the second on the right. Noises could be heard from this one, as if many traps traps were inside. Hardly any light emitted from this as well, so the contents of where and what was exactly there was still mysterious.

The fourth passage which was on the right of the third one, did seem to have anything in it from the looks of it. A few torches could be seen but it looked like the torches were close to going out. What laid within was unknown.

The fifth passage seemed way different compared to the others. Almost as if it was too good to be true as it looked simple. It had wire strings everywhere. The only problem seemed to be what exactly were those wire strings attached to.

The final and sixth passage looked like a maze of Crystal. Hardly any light was present and it was completely quiet. Very cold air emitted from this one.

The Genin had to choose.

Chapter 1

Nanami looks down each hallway "Now there are several ways to go about this. Since I can supply light, and I am probably the slowest speed wise. I can illuminate the dark ones. Well most of them. That cold passage might prevent that. But we may just want to pair off based on what the possible challenge would be." She looks at the hallway covered in wires "That way looks vastly easier then the rest. But somehow I think it is probably the most challenging. With my wind jutsu I can cut through all the wires and set off whatever traps there may be."

She peers down the third hallway "Now say we think of it as a mental test, as much as it is a physical one. This dark one, with the many noises may be the least difficult. But made to appear the most difficult. The crystal one, well I don't know much about the crystal release. So I can't say for certain what the crystals may do to us."

Nanami looks at Nori and Sigmund "So this way will take longer, but it will ensure we are all covering one another.. And Sensei did not give us a time limit. So lets take each path carefully and as a team."

Chapter 1

Nanami had examined each passage way and so did Sigmund. While she pointed out many things about them and he took note of each of her observations, he collected his thoughts as well. She suggested to them all to work together and he simply nodded. "We should stay together and cover everyone's flank," he agreed with her and looked at them both.

"Each passage has to be different in one way or another. But also take in consideration that that may be some way to distract us as well to throw us off," he began to explain. It was probably the most they had heard him speak.

"There's a one and six chance we'll actually pick the right passage that contains Kenji-sensei, but that's our second objective. The first objective is getting through these passages together and safely," he continued to explain.

He grew more serious now. "This place looked built specifically for him to train so these traps are going to be a jonin level course, meaning it's going to be more dangerous than it should be, but that's okay," he said as he walked passed them and faced the last passage way, peering through the dark hallway of the cold, crystal maze.

"I'll take lead of this mission. I'll think of the plans and execute them and help enforce saftey and offensive if possible. Nanami, you will be our light source and our defense, but you're gonna have to conserve chakra as well. We have six passages and you don't want to exhaust yourself by the middle of all this. And Nori, you will be the main fighting ninja. You're gonna have to help execute attacks if needed. You'll be our flank so keep your eyes open," he assigned roles to everybody and turned around to looked at them.

"Are you girls ready?" he asked as he began to roll his neck, hearing bone cracking sounds.

Chapter 1

Nori followed Kenji down the stairs where they came upon a room that was now lit up by a switch that their sensei turned on. She looked about the crystallized room, having never seen a place like this before but it already looked like this challenge wasn't going to be an easy one. Somehow she was glad that she wasn't going to have to do this alone. Not that she was scared or anything. She was sure that she would be able to get through this and that they would be able to find the object they were going to be looking for: their sensei. Now this was interesting. She listened intently to what he was saying while at the same time, looking at the pathways that circled around the room. So there were six passages, huh?

She folded her arms across her chest and listened to Nanami ask questions towards their sensei about whether he would be immobile or moving and whether or not he would be transforming into an object that they needed to find. She watched him move to the center of the room and make a clone of himself. Nori turned her head and looked over at figure as their sensei spoke. So he was going to stay in one spot and was going to be taking the form of a red crystal. It was obvious that they were going to have to look for something different looking as it would be too easy for them to just find him. Oh no. It was going to be much more complicated than that.

Sorting out what passages to go through and which ones to take were going to have to be thought out carefully and precisely or else who knows what consequences laid in store for them. Once their teacher disappeared and the clone told them that their sensei was ready, Nori unfolded her arms and placed her hands on her hips. Okay. So this was it. The challenge was beginning. She turned towards the passages and took in each one of them as Nanami started to speak. Teamwork was key here. They all had their strengths and their weaknesses, so in order for this to work, they were going to have to make sure they covered each other.

It seemed as though Nori didn't need to say much as what they were both saying made complete sense and she was going to do whatever she could to hold her weight. If one of them messed up, it could mess everything up, so they had to be careful. She turned back towards them and looked over at Sigmund. So he was going to be taking the lead, was he? It seems he really knew how to take charge when need be. "Right! I got both of you covered, so just leave it to me," she said with a pumped fist.

Nanami chuckles, but lets Sigmund's enthusiasm lead them. It wasn't the boys personality that made it ok for him to lead. Its the fact nobody else spoke up, and she didn't really mind not being in the leadership role. Her eyes look at Sigmund, then to Nori. Then she looks down the hallways "So which one first Sigmund-kun." She was interested to see which one he would pick and which path they would end up going. Either way her job was the light source and defense in these tight quarters. She also noted how Sigmund viewed women in general. He seemed like he thought we were a a bother or hindrance.. Or worse, weak. But Nanami knew that would only last until their first mission. Then he would see the capabilities of a ninja who trained in two different villages.

Her thoughts realigned themselves and refocused on the task at hand. Her gaze locks onto Sigmund waiting for his choice.

Chapter 1

Sigmund turned around once more and pointed ahead, choosing the crystal-like maze passage way. "This one. This passage probably has traps in every corner possible. It'll prepare us for the rest of the passages," he explained and then smirked. "And it looks the most dangerous," he had added.

With that, he walked in alone, knowing they would follow him shortly after. It was dark inside, and once he passed the door way, they entered a huge room of nothing but a crystal-like maze. Sigmund walked up to the entrance of the beginning of the maze. He extended his arm out and touched the crystal with his fingers. It felt like marble to the touch, but not quite smooth. It had a bit of a rough feel, meaning it could do harm just like Kenji-sensei warned earlier to them. "Be careful. Try not to touch the crystal. This can easily slice us up if we are careless," and once he said that, he winced and looked at his fingers. They had been sliced already, but it was minor. It felt like a paper cut.

It was also extremely cold to the touch just as the air was cold to where when they breathed, it stung his lungs and their breaths could be seen in the form of semi-fog. "Try not to breathe too hard. Our lungs may not be able to handle all this cold at once, so steady, long breaths. Panicking may cause us to feel incredible pain," he pointed out as he steady his breathing patterns.

"All right, we need some light. Not too bright though. The brighter and longer you hold it, the faster you'll be exhausted," he explained to Nanami and then he closed his eyes, focusing small amounts of chakra to manipulate his calcium in this bone in his shoulder.

Suddenly, a bone crackling sound could be heard from him as if his bone was breaking apart. Because the room was filled with the crystal, the crackling sound echoed throughout the whole passage. The bone tore through his shift and coat from his left shoulder and to others, it was gruesome and gore, but to him, it was normal. He reached to his shoulder with his right hand and pulled out the extended bone. It was in the form of a thin, but very sturdy bone-like sword. He gripped the hilt tightly. This will be my weapon of defense. he thought over to himself.

He reopened his eyes and with the sword in hand, he walked into the maze, hopefully his team following right behind closely. He felt himself get anxious as he walked alone for a few seconds. Mazes were so uncertain to him. Anything could happen in every corner or they could simply get lost. Once he reached the end of going straight, he had a choice of going left or right. He waited patiently for his team.

Chapter 1

When Nori saw Sigmund point towards the passage with the crystals, she turned her eyes towards the opening and lightly sighed. The most dangerous one first, huh? This guy was a risk taker. She turned her eyes towards her male teammate. He looks like he is enjoying this she thought as she saw the smirk on his face. Just a few seconds after Sigmund walked ahead, she followed into the darkness after him only to enter into a huge, crystalized maze. She stopped short a few feet behind him and looked at the crystals. They looked smooth to the touch, but dangerous should they try to mess with them.

"I would hate to be pierced by one of these things," she said. "They're really sharp." It was then that she saw Sigmund reach out and touch one of them only to be cut in the process. He just barely touch it. Nori wanted to ask if he was alright, but it seemed that he wasn't the type of guy to frit over such small things, she just kept her mouth closed and folded her arms across her chest. Damn. It was cold in here. She noticed she could see her breath come out in small yet visible clouds, so she took a guess that the temperature was at least in the negatives. They had to keep moving to generate some type of heat or else they might be feeling some form of numbness and they would need their hands should they have to protect themselves, especially her if she would have to execute their attacks.

Nori focused on her breathing and keep it long and steady like Sigmund said. It was way too cold in here, so they needed to conserve as much air as possible and not panic like he said. They could very well run out breath before they knew it and it would be painful if they did. "We need to get moving, guys. This cold isn't good for us. We-" she started to say before she heard a loud, cracking noise. "What was that?" She looked around the room until her eyes landed on the bone that was coming out of Sigmund's shoulder. She took a step back. "Oh my god. Sigmund. Your bone. It's-" she began to say before she saw him reach out and take it out. Only it wasn't really a bone anymore. It was pointy and sharp. Like a sword almost. Nori put a hand to her mouth. He did not just do that, did he? How did he do that? Is this normal When saw that it didn't phase him and just walked into the maze, she just stayed immobile. She simply turned her head and looked over at Nanami. "This guy is something else, huh?" she said before she looked forward and walked into the maze after Sigmund.

Chapter 1

Nanami listened to everything that was said. The cold bit at her the moment she stepped into the passageway. She thought for a moment, as she walked. She made a partial handseal.. Fire wraps around her left arms kind of like a snake. This not only produced light, but a small amount of heat. For her it was enough to make the air feel less sharp, and the cold lost its bite. As she walked up she took note of the bone crunching sounds. She also then saw sigmund pull a small bone sword from his shoulder.

She kinda winced at it, but knew it must be a Kekkai of some sort. She looked at the crystal with a small bit of amazement, she had heard of this release from her uncle. But always thought it was a fairy tale. But it was there for her to see, right in front of her. She ran her hand carefully over and edge. It nearly cuts her "You are right, this place is not going to be easy on us. We move wrong, we can easily get shredded by the crystals." Her eyes look around at what her light lit up. She seemed slightly in awe.

Nanami then looked at Nori and shrugged "He is a guy, they like to be the leader. I don't mind. My aspiration isn't to become hokage. My goal is something completely different." She smiled calmly at Nori as they caught up to Sigmund "So which way Sigmund-kun?"She tilts her head looking at him curiously as she waited. She had a small shortsword at her back. But she needed the hand free in case she needed to defend her team..

Chapter 1

Within the maze several tasks awaited the young ninja. If they were to turn right they would be greeted with a much wider path, but hidden along it is a pressure plate that will cause the walls to start moving in. The crystals are much duller here and will only cause small cuts. If blood were to touch these crystals the walls would stop. If they turn left they will be greeted with a very narrow passageway. The crystals grow sharper here and the temperature drops even lower. Along the bottom there are wires attached to paper bombs. This chamber is meant to numb the limbs so ninja won't feel the wires.

Chapter 1

Sigmund took a moment to look both ways, and didn't seem so confident with his decision. Both ways consisted of crystal walls, some sharp and the other dull. Nanami had asked which way they would proceed and he finally decided to go to the left. "We're going left," he said as he turned on his heel to the left and started walking in that direction.

With a steady breathing, his body felt threatened with the sudden temperature drop. His chest began to hurt slightly. The colder the air, the harder it would be for them. He had hoped if they could through his side quickly, perhaps the temperature would rise again.

"Try to take slow, deep breaths. The air is colder here," he warned and stopped in his tracks. He didn't notice anything out of the ordinary just yet. "Get some light over here, Nanami, please," he asked her as he waited for his team to catch up.

Chapter 1

Nanami nods and holds up her arm like a torch so about twenty feet around them was illuminated. The air would warm enough to make at least Nanami warm enough to not be affected the warmth would extend about five from her. She gazed down the long hallway. Her eyes danced from side to side "Sigmund-kun, I have a suggestion. Sensei said there would be all manners of traps. While my wind jutsu would not affect pressure plates. It could effect tripwires and mines. Which I doubt sensei would be that mean, but you never know."

She touches the crystal walls noting the dullnees, and change to them being sharper then normal.. Nanami looks at Sigmund wondering if he was really cut out to lead. He seemed to overthink things. Over thinking can be just as bad as not thinking enough. Nanami walks to Sigmunds right side as she waits for his answer.

Chapter 1

He listened intently Nanami's suggestion. He looked over the dim lighted way she had exposed for them, and noticed some trip wires. He couldn't see what the trip wires were connected to though. That's what made her suggestion scary. "I wouldn't, if I were you. We don't know what these wires connect to let alone if we set one off, if could possibly set all of them off," he warned and stepped over one carefully, but noticed another had been placed right in front of his chest.

He took a deep breath, the cold air stinging his chest a bit, and he ducked under it. They didn't have much time in this direction. He was starting to get goose bumps from the colder air around them. He had hoped the next direction wasn't this bad. "For all we know, they can be paper bombs. If the sensei had this place specially build just for him, I wouldn't doubt at all that this had complicated traps and explosions," he explained as he came across another wire at his feet, but because he was talking, he didn't see it in time and set it off. Shit! he thought and then-

Chapter 1

Nanami listened, but was more concerned with her surroundings.

She blinked, and pivoted her foot the moment she took note of him crossing the threshold of a tripwire. Twang went the wire.. Nanami didn't hesitate, she grabbed Sigmund by his shirt. Her leg sweeps behind Sigmund's as she sweeps him. But as she swept his leg, her hands and body rolled hard in the direction of the intersection, throwing Sigmund away from the hallway, and hopefully out of harms way.. Nanami's body rolls with the throw, she was leaving little to chance as she would roll with Sigmund. Trying to get herself some distance from whatever might happen..

As all this happened she yelled to Nori "Take cover!"

Chapter 1

Nori stopped after Sigmund as they were met with the two paths they could take. Neither one of them looked pleasant. In fact, each one looked like it was going to be a challenge to get through, but that was to be expected. It didn't seem to matter which one they took. When Sigmund chose to go to the left, she followed after him. The temperature instantly dropped dramatically. Even normal breathing seemed hard to do as it made it a little hard to breathe, but upon taking slow, deep breaths, the pain became a little less in her chest. She soon stopped just a few feet behind Sigmund and tucked her hands underneath her arms, but that didn't seem to do any good. She knew she had to be able to use her limbs should she have to attacks, but she just hoped that her hands or feet didn't become too numb. The cold was supposed to be stimulating, but that didn't seem to be the case right now.

A light soon emitted from Nanami and the one dark path became lit. Nori's eyes took in the sight of the crystal walls. Was it just her or did this pathway seem a bit...narrow? Was that on purpose? Such narrow walls could make their breathing a bit constricted, especially if one was claustrophobic. The cold didn't exactly help, either. Cold, narrow walls. Wires. Sharp-... Wait a minute. Her eyes darted down to the ground to see there were wires. When Nanami suggested using her wind on them, she looked over to Sigmund and then over to her other teammate. "Siggy is right. We don't know what these wires connect to. I don't think it would be a good idea to use that specific ability here. It could be dangerous and trip one of them up. We have to find another way to get over them," she said

Nori looked back over to Sigmund as he took a step over a wire, but saw him stop abruptly when there was another one right in front of him. She lightly gasped, causing a small pain to go through her chest. Just as she was about to say something, she heard a twang like sound. Her eyes widened and looked down at Sigmund's feet. Oh no she thought silent before she saw Nanami quickly grab their male teammate and tossing him away from the hallway, rolling after him in the process. What exactly did that wire trigger? She didn't want to find out. She did a flip, then a leap before she tumbled in his direction.

Chapter 1

The wire had triggered a paper bomb, causing a massive explosion in the narrow little way, but that also caused several other wires and more explosions. Crystal shards broke off on the crystal hallway. They were glass-like and were thrown everywhere. Nanami had just grabbed him in time away from the explosion. He had quickly grabbed onto her arm to drag her with him, causing them both to roll out of the hallway together and back to where they started. Shards had managed to spill across the ground with Sigmund. He ended up being penetrated with somein his arm. A large shard had managed to stab his forearm though.

Sigmund had closed his eyes as he saw Nori dodge the explosion. The explosion alone caused a loud echo throughout the entire building. He was sure their sensei could have heard it. Once him and Nanami ha stopped rolling, he was on his back and she was next to him. He felt stinging in his arm and when he opened his eyes and turned his head to the left, he noticed his left forearm had gotten injured with crystal. Shit. he thought to himself. He leaned up, his elbows propping him up and he grabbed the shard, and pulled it out. His blood began to slowly spill out, but it was only minor. "Well that sucked," he said and sat up all the way. "Is everybody okay?" he asked them, brushing off the rest of the shards on his coat and looked at the girls.

Chapter 1

Nanami had several small cuts on her arms and pretty large gash on her shoulder which caused a bit of bleeding "Yeah once I take care of this." She sits down cross-legged and takes out a needle and thread. She looks at her shoulder, pulling a few shards of crystal out, causing a small amount of blood flow. Nanami heats up the tip of the needle to sterilize it. She then loops it through the eye of the needle. She winces each time the needle pops through her torn flesh. She seems very proficient with it. It took a minute or so and she finished the final stitch. She pulled it taught and held out the strong "Can you cut it here Sigmund-kun?"

After it was cut Nanami takes out a some gauze and medical bandages from a pouch on her belt "Mother said you can't always rely on your teammates to have time to patch you up. So she took some time and showed me how to stitch myself up. The upper back is the only place I can't reach to be effective." She finishes bandaging the wound "There we go, just like new." She still had several small cuts, as Nanami hadn't dressed in her combat gear for training.

Nanami stands and smiles "Well round one to the crystals. How about we take round two, but this time Sigmund-kun, watch your footing." She teased, but it can be heard in how she says that it was meant to motivate, not to discourage..

Chapter 1

Luckily the three of them managed to get back to where they first started before there was a loud explosion triggering other smaller ones. She rolled close by to where Sigmund and Nanami had stopped and stayed immobile. She lowly groaned as she brought her arms down that were shielding her face and head. She could feel small tinges of pain in her arm and leg and it caused her to open her eyes and slowly prop herself up with a hand. Her eyes shifted down to see some gashes on her arm and leg. Damn those things were sharp. "Yeah. I'm alright. Just some cuts," she said with a sigh and turned her attention to see that Sigmund had been pierced with a crystal in his forearm. Her eyes widened slightly. "Sigmund! Oh my god. Are you-" she began to say before she saw him pull it out with ease. How did he do things like that? It was like he felt no pain. Nori sighed. At least he was alright.

"Looks like we chose the wrong path, but I don't expect the other one to be any easier," she said as she sat up all the way and looked over st Nanami. She was going to ask her if she was alright, but she seemed to have it covered with the way she swed herself back up like that. Nori let out a sigh and floors herself back down on the ground. "I think we failed that one for sure." She pushed her hand through her hair and turned her head to look over at the second hallway. "Looks like we only have one other choice." She looked back over to Sigmund. "Are you sure that youre alright to continue?"

Chapter 1

Akuma heard the explosion, but he remained in his crystalline form. He trusted that his Genin could handle themselves. Yet, the explosion told him several things. It included which path they had taken and what challenge they had just met and failed. If he remembered correctly they now had several options they could pick from. They could go down the wider path, return to the main room, or take the path they had just come out of. The latter was only an option due to the heavily reinforced walls. The only worry they had from that hallway now was the miniature shards of glass on the floor left from the explosion. He was curious to see which way they would choose.

Chapter 1

Sigmund had helped Nanami cut the thread as she stitched her own self, then proceeded to explain that you should always learn to attend to yourself if ever injured because you never knew what could happen. Once he was finished with that, the girls advised him to watch himself this time and then Nori asked him if he was really okay. She was starting to get annoying, constantly asking him if he was all right and being scared when something happened to him. It was as if she had some sort of crush on him.

"I'm fine, Nori. Stop worrying about me," he told her and looked at the other hallway, then back to the one they just escaped from. The explosions from the tag traps had warmed the air around them making it easier for them to breath and it felt good. The only thing he disliked was the smell it left behind. Nanami's light was still around and he noticed all the shards on the ground that could potentially be dangerous. He walked passed the girls and faced the direction fully of where all the shards were at.

He began to sign the Dragon, Tiger, and Hare then said,"Water Style: Raging Waves. Water gushed out from his mouth like a waterfall and washes away the shards. One can freely control the power of this technique with the amount of chakra one releases. He began to push the water further down the ways, completely washing away the shards. He didn't release too much water at all only because he knew he could fill this room up and they could drown in no time.

Once he knew the shards were gone, he stopped his jutsu. "We're going back in there. We didn't fail. Failing would be avoiding this way again. I just need to be careful and not distracted again," he explained and walked back through. All the glass shards were no longer present and he was able to walk freely through without any wires around too. Once he came to another way, they could only proceed to go right and so he did. He knew they would follow so he wasn't worried about them.

Once he turned right, he came across more wires, but without Nanami's light to emit more visibility, he wasn't exactly sure what else was there. From the looks of it though, he noticed the flooring had changed as if they were pressure plates.

Chapter 1

Upon hearing Sigmund say that he was okay and to stop worrying about him, Nori flicked her eyes down to the ground. Did he really have to say it that way? It was as if he was irritated with her or something. She was just concerned. Was that really a bad thing? She lightly shook her head. She couldn't let any of that get to her right now. They had to get through this training. She just stayed silent as she slowly stood up to her feet and brushed away any dust or debris that got on her during the explosion before she saw Sigmund do his Raging Wave jutsu, causing the water to wash away the leftover shards of crystal that were on the ground from the explosion as well as any debris. She looked down the hallway that they had just come out of and saw a clear path for them to get through. I guess he's right. There's no use in not trying to go down this path again she thought silently before she started walking after him.

She followed Sigmund down the pathway and they soon came upon another one that would lead them to the right. However, Nori stopped abruptly behind him, noticing that there were wires once again on the ground. It was only a matter of time before they came across them, though, so it was no surprise to her. Only would there be more bombs this time around or something else? She couldn't really tell since it was a bit dark. Maybe she could help with that. "Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique," she said aloud and used her Rat to Tiger to Dog to Ox to Rabbit, and then to Tiger hand signs to create a small fireball within her hand. She didn't release the flame, but rather controlled it with her chakra so that they at least had a little light until Nanami met up with them.

Chapter 1

Upon emitting more light, it was shown that there were multiple wires that were attached to who knows what. Pressure plates had been place everywhere, blending in with the regular constructed floor. It was definitely noticeable that the floor was weird in a way. The hall way was wider then the other ways they walked through. It was an 8 x 10 tile surfaced floor, some with pressure plates and some without. There was only one correct path to get through it without activating the pressure plates but they also had to worry about the wires that ran across from all to wall.

Chapter 1

Nanami takes a cursory glance down the lit hallway. Much like her father, she has learned not to jump into things without thinking about them first. Nanami makes mental notes of the distance and angle of the tripwires. Then the snake of fire extends down to her finger. She starts doing some math right there on the floor. This may take a minute or two as she finishes "Well judging by the space, and length of this section. There are twelve pressure plates and roughly a hundred or so tripwires. There are safe spots from each, about two feet apart. There are a few rough patches though where some fast movement and leaping will be needed." She points out ahead and to several spots among the tripwires, where if they looked hard they could see several areas where there aren't any safe spots.

She spends a little more chakra to lighten it up even more. The crystal around Nanami act as an amplifier "Traps are a part of my ninja style. So I know them well. It was a good thing we didn't set them all off, this many paper bombs, and god knows what the pressure plates trigger. It would have been messy.." Nanami looks to Sigmund "Your the team captain.. Orders?"

Chapter 1

In this room the Genin have to worry about two separate things. The first being the pressure plates. If any of them were to be stepped on it would launch a barrage of wooden training Kunai from the walls where the person is standing. It wouldn't cause severe bodily harm, but it would cause short sharp pains and bruising. The second of the challenges is the wires somewhat densely covering the room. These wires do not detach from the walls, but activate mechanisms that remove certain tiles in the room revealing pits of acid underneath.

Chapter 1

He had listened carefully to Nanami and kept in mind everything she said. The measurements in particular. When Nanami asked for captain's orders, he just stared at the situation. "We'll have to go one at a time. The other two will have to help keep a lookout for the one who is crossing," he advised and looked at them. "Nanami, you first. Nori will keep her fire lit to keep the light and youcan freely use your arms and legs or whatever you will do while crossing. You say traps are your ninja style, so this is your time to shine and show us noobs how to get through this without messing up," he explained, making fun of himself from last time's job.

The little fire Nori kept alive actually kept the air still warm, so the painful breathing actually went away for the time being. The only thing he was concerned about right now was what exactly those pressure plates would do once someone stepped on them. He also was nervous about the trip wires too because the last ones had explosive tags, so he was anxious that these ones had some too and could be even deadlier than the others. If these were explosive, there would be no way any of them could escape, especially the one who was crossing. They could possibly die.

He shook the negative feelings off though and put all his faith in Nanami. She was a sophisticated ninja and was the brains of this team. She had to be a good example of how to get passed this challenge. He faced the hallway again, towards the traps and looked at them, scanning for any potential openings and easier ways. "There has to be a pattern to this. When you're out there, try to observe them closer without tripping off any of the wires too. The pressure plates have to be more abnormal looking them the others," he explained. The added ,"Once the pattern is found, it'll be easier for us two to get across." He turned around and looked at Nanami with a smirk. "Now get out there guinea pig," he joked.

Chapter 1

Nanami looks at Sigmund almost in surprise. She wasn't expecting him to actually open up and try to make a joke. That made her happy, bu also made her even more competitive. Nanami smirked and nodded "Well first before I wade into this jungle of wires. I need to know what they do. The wires are to dense and close together to be paper bombs, and I am tired of surprises from this place. So if you feel the need to stand back do." She gives them only a second to decide. But she continued on none the less..

Nanami looks down the hall looking for a wire near the middle. She throws a senbon and tags one of the wires. It doesn't snap. Instead it twangs like a musical string. She then takes note of one of the tiles falls and then splashes, some sizzling and steam rises "Well now, glad I know what happens when you touch one of these wires. So the point of this is to maneuver without touching anything. This won't be easy, but it is manageable. I'll mark safe points, there are two points near each wall. They will be a pain, as you kind of have to kick off the wall and go over, or you have to dive between them. These two points will be harsh. I am sure we can manage it though. Well here I go."

She steps between the first set of strings, she very carefully marks the first pressure plate. Then Nanami looks around for a moment. She ducks and steps over another set of wires to the right. She stops suddenly as her foot almost catches on a wire. But she manages to not pull on it hard enough to trigger the wire. She reaches the point where the tile had fallen she looks down "Sensei is a bit hardcore, seriously." She gazes into the pit. Now she has an obstacle in her way. She looks around and notices a space just big enough for her to duck under and around the tile that had fallen. She continues on, she is about halfway at this point. Nanami conitnues on. Ducking and maneuvering through each wire.

Nanami then stops faced with the part where there is no room. Only carefully jumping up and over to the final few feet. Nanami's feet glow with chakra "Careful Nami, we can't make an error here." She takes a few moments to center herself and chakra in her feet and hands "Here goes nothing." She places her foot and hand against the wall. Her body relaxes as she pushes off and doesn't quite clear the highest wire. It twangs and a tile falls down and splashes into the pool below. She lands and takes a very long deep breath as all she had to do was duck through a few more wires.

Once through and onto the other side. She looks back at Sigmund. The girl was sweating and looked mentally tired "Ok all pressure plates along the path are marked, do not step on one of them. I have a sinking feeling the pressure plates cause the entire floor to collapse. So please don't step on one. Now there is a new issue. The last wire caused one of the tiles along the path to fall away. So you will have to detour around it there aren't any pressure plates along the detour. So don't stray, I would like us to survive training." She smiled and then stepped away from the finishing area and sits down.

Chapter 1

He allowed her to take the lead on this one and watched her test one of the wires. He prepared himself to already bolt from the area, but when the wire didn't snap, he was puzzled. Instead, he heard like a twang sound and all of a sudden, one of the tiles fell into the ground and a loud sizzling sound. It sounded like acid.

She maneuvered through the wires as smoothly as she could. When she commented on their sensei's tactics of the acid, he couldn't have agreed more. "Seriously. What would he truly do if one of us actually had gotten burned from this?" he commented and watched her jump off the wall and even triggered another wire at the end. He watched that tile fall as well.

She had marked each safe spot, figuring out the pattern that he and Nori could take carefully, one at a time of course. Nanami was smart and he liked that a lot. She was able to quickly think this all out and have a strategic plan faster than he could have done on this one.

She also warned them that the last wire she triggered caused a tile to fall on the path she marked for the and suggested a detour and that the detour was safe, but advised them to be more careful too.

He was ready to accomplish this now. He took a quick glance at Nori. "I'm going next. After I get across you make your way across. It should be easy from here," he instructed and with that, he bagn his own journey across the plates carefully.

With carefully timed steps, he was able to maneuver through the safe zones and with careful timing, he was able to not trigger any of the wires this time. He truly did not want to know what those plates did, but whatever they were, they couldn't be too dangerous as acid. He took the detour Nanami advised earlier and nothing was triggered. He was able to land perfectly next to Nanami, not even breaking a sweat like she was.

"Two down, one more to go," he said and sat across from Nanami. He waited patiently for Nori now. "She's going to dispel her jutsu, so can you bring some more light so she can see?" he asked Nanami so Nori could cross without exerting her chakra for her own light source. As he sat there waiting, he actually was surprised he was talking this much with either of his teammates. He hardly ever talked. He frowned to the thought. It meant he was going soft on them and he actually didn't like that. He felt a bit weak if he was getting softer. Hopefully after the training of this building, he could go back to being the man with little words.

Chapter 1

Nori kept the fireball in her hand lit as she watched Nanami maneuver her way through the wires so effortlessly. She was able to mark all the pressure points that her and Sigmund shouldn't step on when it was their turn to cross. Somehow she felt like she wasn't contributing much to this team at all. It was like she was the anchor and those two were the captains of the ship having to steer her in the right direction. What was wrong with her? She knew she was more capable than being so dependable on others. She had to do her best to show them that she wasn't just a weight on their shoulders. She wasn't going to be a burden. She was stronger than this. Once Nanami finished passing through the wires and got safely to the other side, Nori let out a relieved sigh. Now it was just her and Sigmund. She knew he would probably get through it no problem. She turned her head and looked at him when he spoke to her and it made her lightly scowl. "Yes, sensei," she mumbled before she looked away from him.

Nori couldn't hear anything go off as Sigmund crossed, which meant that he got across safely just like Nanami did. She looked back towards the obstacle and down to the pressure plates. She memorized which ones to not touch and which wires to not trip. She also kept in mind of the detour that Nanami had told them about and to be careful even with the pressure plates marked. She lightly sighed and nodded. Once Nanami had held up her hand and lit up the small space, she put out her fireball and rubbed her hands together. Now it was her turn to cross. She stepped up close to the first wire before she quickly and gracefully made her way through the trap without pushing down on any pressure plates and without tripping any wires. Nori was quite flexible and was good under pressure, so with having her teammates strategy in her head, she managed to do a backflip over the last wire and land in front of her teammates. "And done," she told them.

Nanami stands after resting for a bit. She thinks on the size of the first hallway, then this room. Then she recalls the size of the house as they entered "Judging by how Sensei house is laid out, and how much of this is actually natural. I would guess this maze could be anywhere from half a mile, to two miles in length. These are just estimations from evaluating the size of Sensei's house, and the cavern areas we have seen in here. I hope its the former and not the later, or we could be here for a long while."

She starts walking down a normal hallway. Nanami keeps her eyes moving from one place to another. She stops and kneels down. She had found a series of plates. No it was worse then that. The floor into the next room was covered in barely perceived Japanese characters, under each is a pressure place. Out of the twelve only three had characters that were repeated "Well it seems we have to find the correct character to get across this floor and into the next room. Again I hate surprises.." She takes out another Kunai and flicks it at a pressure plate. The moment the force from the throw strikes it. There is a large surge in lightning and it shoots up like a bolt of lightning.

Nanami blinks "Well now, and I thought the acid pit was hardcore." Then another thing happens, the characters changed "Well, that is tricky." She scanned them again and noted which ones were more prominent "How to handle this, this is going to be a pain." When she says that she sounds a lot like her father. Nanami's head tilts to one side "Odd.." She counts all of the characters again "Something isn't adding up." She then blinks "Its not the ones that are the same, it is the ones that are different. But the way they are spread. It will be a pain. But it will also be fun. Shall I go first again, or does one of you want to?"

Chapter 1

Sigmund had allowed Nanami to take point on this one again. However, once they came across the new obstacle, he observed with curiosity of this new puzzle presented to them. Nanami was even having a hard time figuring it out, but it dawned on him when she tossed her kunai at any of the pressure plates, lightning emitted. That's when he grew an idea. Observing the characters again, she mentioned they changed and were all different. He figured there was a pattern at which each character needed to be in order to cross safely without the fear of getting electrocuted.

"I had an idea. I learned this at the academy actually," he spoke up. "Those with an affinity for something, can not only cast elemental jutsus, but can also use the natural element as well, controlling it," he explained further. "This should be easy to get through because I can control lightning, natural or not. I just have to redirect it somewhere else. If i stand in the middle and we just cross and lightning shoots out, I can easily manipulate it and just redirect it into a kunai or something, without harming myself or us," he explained his plan, but knew it could be risky only because he wasn't sure how long he could keep it up or if he could even have a sure grip on the lightning, but it seemed to be the quickest way to get this done.

The temperature had dropped back down once they got out of range from the first explosive tag surprise they encountered before and there was no way in hell they could go another hour of this. They would be lucky if they could survive this cold for another two hours. Keeping them warm not only wasted time, but also drained chakra because somebody had to cast fire and that was Nori. He wanted to be done with this test already, wanting to find their sensei as quickly as possible.

Chapter 1

Once Nori was across with her teammates, she rolled back her shoulders and cracked her neck. Ah yeah. That felt better. She looked over to Nanami as she spoke before she looked forward. "Sensei sure does have a lot of time on his hands if he is able to create something so big that's just for himself. He must like to train and put himself under pressure a lot. Then again, this kind of thing must not even phase him," she replied as she followed after her female teammate before she stopped abruptly behind her. She looked down as Nanami knelt down and observed the floor. From what she could see, there were Japanese characters in different spots. Were these pressure plates again? What was going to be underneath them this time? When she heard her teammate say they would have to find the correct character to get across the floor, Nori lightly sighed and placed her hands on her hips. "This is just like a puzzle, isn't it?" It seemed as if their sensei wasn't going to go easy on them. He was challenging them both intellectually and mentally which, when thought about, was actually pretty smart. It was requiring them to use not only their intellectual abilities, but also their own set of specific skills to get them through each challenge.

Each of them contributed something different to this team and Nori was sure that their sensei knew that. Now it was just getting through these challenges together to see if they could work together as a team. Not just one person could get them through this by themselves. Nori saw Nanami flick a kunai again one of the plates, lightning omitted from it. Well, now this was interesting, wasn't it? First it was acid and now it was lightning. Just how were they going to get through this without getting electrocuted? She looked back down to the floor. There was obviously a pattern to this. Now they just had to figure this out. It was then that Sigmund spoke up about redirecting the lightning somewhere or to something so that nothing would befall onto any of them. "I don't know, Sigmund-kun. What if you can't control it for a long period of time? It's a bit risky and you could slip up. We would all have to get through this part fast since we are unsure of how long you can hold out," she said.

Chapter 1

Nanami pats Nori's cheek "There is another option, the hallway is approximately twenty feet long, and twelve feet tall. We could launch one another across. I mean at worst you get shocked, at best you land perfectly on the other side. It more or less safer, and I can use my wind jutsu to give you a nice amount of boost to your jumps. Then I suppose it crosses your mind. Who will throw me, well I can cross this without much trouble. But trying to control, who knows how much chakra each jolt will have might be very risky. The trap may be designed to counter that."

She pauses and takes a deep breath "I don't mind this risk, as I have a few tricks up my sleeve to avoid the dangers of the traps. But.." Nanami stops and thinks for a moment "The body flicker technique may be a good thing for this test. We also are assuming the trap won't trigger regardless which plate we step on. We are over thinking this." She takes four kunai and launches them at random plates. One spews fire, the other spews water, the next fires off a pressurized gust of wind, the last one a crystal spike pops up..

Nanami pauses and blinks "I think this is one of those, get across without touching them things. So going back to what I was saying before about using my wind jutsu to carry you through this or launch you across might be the best. Unless we all now the body flicker technique? Thoughts?"

Chapter 1

Sigmund allowed them to discuss what they should and shouldn't do. He wasn't worried about the concerns of him not being able to control the lightning bolts that would burst. He was confident and skilled. Nanami explained that there was no trick puzzle to this and it was just a simple walk across kind-of-thing and he was perfectly okay with that. "Let's go with the body flicker technique. We learned it in the academy," he favored and looked at the girls.

Chapter 1

Nori stayed silent as she listened to Nanami give options about what they should do to get across the pressure plates this time. It seemed simple enough she supposed. Just get across without getting electrocuted. The idea of being carried over to the other side by wind didn't exactly appeal to her, so using the body flicker technique seemed to be the best option. She looked at Sigmund as he gave his opinion to use the body flicker technique and she nodded. "Alright. I'm good with the body flicker technique," she said and looked over at Nanami.

Chapter 1

Nanami nodded and looked over the entire layout. She had to make sure she calculated her movements int time with what could happen. Nanami's mind raced as she went over several variables. She takes out a small notepad and begins running through things mathematically. here eyes danced as her hand moved at a rapid pace "So after running things through mathematically, the safest way is the body flicker technique. There is something I didn't take into account and I didn't notice it until now. But the cold is very slowly draining our chakra, not enough to be noticeable at first. But I am starting to notice it now. So time is of the essence."

Nanami plants her foot and makes a handsign. She vanishes and then reappears, she made a slight error in calculating her distance and she touches the edge of the last pressure plate. A jagged shard of crystal shoots up, it slices into Nanami's other arm, near the elbow "God damn it!" She sighs as she quickly bandages it up "Careful with managing your distance. I was off by less then an inch. So watch yourselves when you land." Nanami says it with a positive tone.

Chapter 1

Sigmund had felt his chakra pool lessen as she mentioned the cold draining it. It felt terrible for not noticing it sooner. He was doing terrible as leader right now. He remained quiet and with all in agreement to the body flicker. Nanami had went first and she miscalculated, activating a pressure plate that had injured her other arm with a giant crystal. Sigmund was not at all surprise crystal was used for all these traps at this point.

He nodded his head she said be careful and shoot for a longer distance. "In all honesty, I'm not going to be surprised if one of us dies in here because all these traps seem to be underestimated by us," he joked with a smirk on his face.

He made a sign as he walked up the beginning of the trap. He vanished, a puff of smoke was replaced where he use to stand and reappeared next Nanami, having dodged her miscalculation. "You all right?" he asked her, remembering she had hurt herself.

Chapter 1

Nanami nods "Its just a scratch. I'll make sure to have both wounds looked at when we are done here." Even though it was easily seen that it was more then just a scratch as the blood could be seen through the fresh bandage. But she seems as bouncy as ever. Neither the pain, traps, cold air, or the intensity of the test seem to have much effect on her cheerful demeanor. She looks at Nori and waits for her to cross before looking into the next and hopefully last room before finally being able to search someplace for their Sensei. Nanami seemed eager to get the test over wth as quickly as possible.

Chapter 1

When Nanami had mentioned that the cold was slowly depleting their chakra, it had only confirmed what Nori had originally thought in the beginning. So it looked like it was true. They would have to get through this as soon as possible. She saw her teammate vanish to the other side, but found that she miscalculated and injured her arm. "Are you okay, Nanami?" she asked aloud before she heard her tell them to be careful or else they could injure themselves if they didn't manage their distance. Nori turned her head and looked over at Sigmund, giving him a small frown but before she could say anything to him, he made a hand sign and disappeared to the other side with Nanami. It looked like she was the only one that was left...yet again.

Nori walked to the edge of the trap and looked down at the pressure plates that were in front of her and let her eyes trail up to the other side where she saw her teammates. She inhaled a sharp breath before she released it to calm herself. There was nothing to this, but she knew had to be careful not to make a mistake or else she might injure herself, too, and that was the last thing that she needed. She brought up her hands and make quick to make the proper hand sign before she, too, disappeared and reappeared on the other side with her teammates.

Chapter 1

Nanami smiles at Nori and Sigmund "It is a big confidence booster, knowing I have you two watching my back. So lets see where these final hallways take us shall we." She hooks both Sigmunds and Nori's arms and drags them along. Nanami was unusually upbeat. She kept her eyes open and looking in all directions. Just incase something might jump out to surprise them. But as she thought that they came to the entrance to the next room. Which this room kind of makes her eyes go quite wide. As opposed to every other room, which was cold as hell. This was one was the reverse..

Nanami gazes over what one could call a burning room. It almost looked to simulate a burning building, but with the kicker of crystal shards protruding from all over the place "So this one is more of an obstacle course of not getting burned or cut." Then suddenly various spouts of flames went off "Oh, and I didn't think it could get any better." She laughs and keeps her head up so to speak. Nanami stands there watching the patterns of everything unfold. The pattern of the flames. The easiest routes. Which were few and far between. Especially since each route no matter how she figured it, was no less dangerous then the other, due to the spouts of flame.

She looks at Sigmund and Nori "This one looks to be the hardest one. At least I hope it is. But there is no safe route here, and you have to keep moving. That is the dangerous part. Those flames won't wait for you. If I go last, I can lower the flames if they get near you. Don't let that sidetrack you from the actually stuff that's on fire and the shards. This will be tough to manage, but doable. As I recall though Sensei has safety protocols set. So taking this into account. Nothing here will actually kill us, or I hope thats the case. So thats my assessment of this room. One last thing, due to the debris and the crystal. Both body flicker, and the replacement jutsu won't be useful here."

Time Skip

Three weeks have passed since Akuma was assigned to three fresh genin. Taking in each of their abilities, he knew he had to test them greatly if they were to be of value for him to approve for the Chunin Exams. Not only did he witness the powerful skills of the only male student, Akitoki Sigmund, but he also witnessed what females could unleash as well. Although Nori appeared the weakest of the group, she was the one who improved the most during his training exercise for them. However, Nanami proved to be her rival, constantly keeping ahead of the group in smarts. Nanami was special and Akuma could not put a finger on it, but he had high hopes for her the most for she was the smartest and could be deadly being the swiftest.

All three students had demonstrated their raw power on their first meeting, more so Sigmund and Nori, who appeared to have been old classmates, but did not let that get in the way to start a rivalry in the beginning. A jealous Nanami had envied the relationship and proved her worth throughout the next couple of weeks.

The group of students were tested in Akuma's training course, from trip wires to bombs, to pit falls, to crushing walls, all the way to deadly encounters of poison, toxins, and almost near death, the group never gave up and only proved to be worthy to be Akuma's personal genin squad. Their smarts and their strength was tested, but so was character building of teamwork. Not only did the group conquer the course with hard work and almost near death, but they also learned to work together and combine their jutsus and brains if they ever needed to stay alive in any situation.

After taking each cave/path in Akuma's course and succeeding every time, they were able to find the hidden object which was Akuma's in disguise. Akuma never doubted this students one bit and was very proud of the group for not dying. He did not apologize for being hard on them and had explained to them that it was all test from the get go. The test being to learn to work together in the most deadly and worst conditions out there and keeping each other alive and sane.

Days had passed after their session and Akuma was assigned several small E and D rank missions around the village to further the groups' character building. Although neither Sigmund, Nori, or Nanami approved of these simple missions, they knew not to argue and just be done with it. After a handful of minor missions, Akuma took each genin one by one for 4 days at a time to train and work on a new jutsu come time for the Chunin Exams. Akuma never mentioned the Chunin Exams right away until every student of his had successfully learned a new jutsu.

Before the kages started packing up for their meet and greet in one of the villages, Akuma finally mentioned the Chunin Exams to his genin....their decision was left to them.

All three genin learn .2 to add to either Intel., Speed, or Strength.

Akitoki Sigmund has leanred a new jutsu.

Yamada Nori has learned a new jutsu.

Nara Nanami had learned a new jutsu.

Sigmund, Nori and Nanami each have earned +1 in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Strength, Intel., Speed, Stamina, and Hand Signs.
