Chunin Exams: Updates

Summoning animals during the fight work right?

Well of course you can. It's your jutsu. Take in mind though summoning does take a lot of chakra, so do know you can only summon once per battle.

Chunin Exams: Updates

Questionnaire is now closing. Threads will now be opening. Roll to see who goes first and label it as 'coin flip.'

Secondly, before engaging in battle, write a post about what's been going on. Meaning, you need to respond to the Raikage's post and Fujii's (mine) all in one as will your opponent. Once that's done, the person who won the coin toss/die roll, will begin the battle and it goes from there.

I will be monitoring the battles. I will intervene when needed. I am trusting players to battle fairly and reasonably. Die rolls will be logged and recorded and if I see that is not happening, disciplinary action will be put in place.

These battles are all based on your own pace. There is no rushing so take your time.

Any other questions or concerns, well, keep it quick and post it in this thread for any Chunin Related things.

Let the battles begin!

Chunin Exams: Updates

Just reposting my question here since I think it got missed in the OOC thread:

I noticed you said that you can use ninjutsu or taijutsu to defend against taijutsu, but can only use ninjutsu to defend against ninjutsu.  Is it possible to try and, for example, dodge a ninjutsu attack or defend against it with taijutsu?  (Assuming it makes sense in context.)

Unfortunately no. The die roller is set the way it is.

Re: Chunin Exams: Updates

I realized that it was an afterthought, but what happens in combat involving ninjutsu that focus more on effects instead of damage? Would such ninjutsu be able to stay around for longer than a turn?

Re: Chunin Exams: Updates

After observing the dice roller log, two problems have been brought to my attention.

First: NO SECRET ROLLS! It's misleading to your opponent and it is a way to cheat against your opponent. You will receive a penalty even though I can see the secret rolls, your opponent cannot.

Secondly: NO REROLLS if you forget to put the reason for the roll. That is no need to reroll because it can change the outcome of battle, ether giving you an edge or even a disadvantage. As long as you label it within your post, you're okay. Just try to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you reroll, you will receive a penalty. The only time it is okay to reroll is if you literally forget to add a modifier ect or you and your opponent decided to break a tie breaker.

DO NOT FORGET THESE NEW RULES!

Preliminary Round Winners

Out of curiosity - what happens to your rolls if you decide to focus entirely on defense and not roll anything for attack?

Then that means your defense roll becomes your attack roll and your opponent has to have a higher attack for their post in order to succeed.
