Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nori saw the man gasp for air and and look at them. She just stared back into his eyes and lowered her own at him. "Well, if you like living, I suggest you start talking. My friend here has plenty more where that came from. Right, Nanami?" she said and leaned forward towards him, grasping his wrists again and tightening her grip. Was he still sensitive to pain? "Now tell us where we can find the scroll or else this isn't looking good for you, mister."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nanami chuckles "Blame your proctor, he said by any means necessary. Not our fault." She grins and walks over to the truth serum. She pulls out a medium sized dose "Seeing as your weakened, medium should be plenty.. Or you can just tell us where the scroll is?" She injects the serum into the mans arm "We'll wait for that to take effect. Unless you want to talk now?"

He smirked at them when they questioned him about a scroll. "What scroll? I don't even know what you're talking about. And who is this proctor you mentioned? Is this my boss or something?" he asked.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nanami brings up her hands and makes a hand-seal.. Winds pick up and swirl around them "Well okay if you don't want to die, tell me about the scroll. All it takes is another handseal and things go from bad to worse for you. But not just you, our ninja have provided us with detailed information about your family and friends. I would hate for them to be brought in to undergo the same drug I just used on you. So I will leave their fate to you."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nori turned her head and looked at Nanami as she brought over the medium sized dose of truth serum. She looked back down to the man in front of her. It should work, shouldn't it? He was in a weakened state. "Don't play dumb. We may be young, but we're not dumb. We don't want to hurt you or anyone else, but you're not really giving us much of a choice at the moment," she said as she looked straight into his eyes and leaned forward again. "Don't make my friend here inject you with that drug again. She was generous enough to bring you back the first time, but if you keep pissing her off, you're as good as gone. You don't want to die, do you? Not if you have family back home. Do you have children? You want to see them again, right? They won't like it if daddy doesn't come back home because he refused to cooperate."

The man smirked, not impressed with their threats this time. "Ha! As if. If that's true, how many children do I have? Boys? Girls? What's my wife's name? Where do they reside? Where am I from? What do I do? Hell, what is even my name?" he raided them with questions and began laughing. "I don't know what the hell this scroll you're talking about is though. Seriously, that's the truth," he told them.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nanami thinks for a moment, and takes a a syringe of the anti-truth serum "I guess if you are telling the truth, then this will make you lie. So if you were to hide a scroll, where would you hide it?" She injects a medium dose into the man.

Nanami looks at Nori "So do you know what happens when a heated Senbon is inserted into the eye? It slowly boils until it explodes. So I will first take your eyes." She takes out a senbon and uses her flame to heat it until it is red. She grabs the mans head and inches the heated senbon towards the mans eye "Five seconds until you lose the eye." She leaves the needle to a point which the man could feel the heat on his eyeball "Next time I ask, and you refuse, you'll lose your eye. Then I will ask again. If you fail to tell me, you lose the other eye. Then the needle will go into your ear, deafening you. If you think I am bluffing call my bluff."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

An intercom was turned on, a voice could be heard throughout the room and it was none other than Sima's:

"Congratulations. After observing your tactics, you proved unsuccessful to gain the information asked for and even failed to execute simple instructions. The man presented to you needs real medical attention now after already killing him. The point of the test was to test your interrogation skills. Heading straight to violent methods is sometimes not always the way to go. You as a squad failed because none of you worked as a team as well. Enjoy the shock within the room."

The metal door from the other room swung closed and locked behind them. The floor began to charge up and in a matter of seconds, the entire squad and the man included received a 10 second long shock for failure of the obstacle.

"You have been penalized for 5 minutes. Please stand by and the door will open soon."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

After the intense shock, she looked at both Sigmund and Nori "Please put aside your differences. I am no interrogation specialist. I needed guidance. The very little training I have had was with more violent tactics. Sigmund if you want to become ANBU you better get your head out of your ass. Because even in ANBU you will still have a team most of the time."

She sighs "I am also to blame, but I needed support and the captain I look up to wasn't there. He was off letting his past hurt the team. To be honest, I can become strong without becoming a Chunin, its nothing more then a title. It won't stop me from learning, training, and gaining more powerful jutsu. But this is besides the point." She walks over to the man "I apologize for nearly killing you."

She takes out a vitamin, and chakra pill and eats them. She makes a sour face as she does. Eventually she swallows them. She takes out her bow and uses a healing arrow on the man to at least help him recover a little. She then moves over to the door frame and waits for the time to pass "Now we wait."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Sigmund had continued to watch in silence and then an intercom with the proctor began speaking. He scowled as they were told they failed because they lacked teamwork and didn't acquire the information like they were suppose to. That's when the shock came. The door behind them swung close. He heard electrical charging starting from the floor and then it burst, shocking everybody in the room. It was so intense and caught him off guard so he feel to his knees. "Son of a b..." he trailed off as he closed his eyes, taking in the shocks. It lasted forever to him then it stopped. He caught his breath and reopened his eyes as he stood up on his feet, leaning against the wall. That's when Nanami started lecturing him like this was all his fault.

"This isn't my fault. Stop blaming me. I had this taken care but SHE had to be the drama queen about this. I don't give a rat's ass what happened between us. SHE'S the one making the big deal about this. If you want to keep blaming me, then fine. I don't care," he snapped. For a brief moment, because he was angry and upset, his eyes had turned green and the red under lining of his eyes appeared. It remained, even after he spoke.

Nanami looks at him as she still leans against the door's frame "No, you let it get to you, and I am not blaming you. I was saying I needed you. But you let something personal come before your team. Who gives a damn!" She shakes her head "She just stated how she felt. You both have issues. I have no idea what caused the rift between you two, and its none of my business."

She starts stretching as the shocks had caused her muscles to tighten. She doesn't say anything for a while "Just know, I do take a lot of the blame. But some of the blame also falls on you and Nori. You both need to be on the same page, I don't plan on failing another test, and we will have a ton of time to make up for. So we will either have to come together and act like a team. Or there is no doubt we will fail."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nori turned her head and looked over at Nanami when she saw her heat it up and hold it towards the man's eye. "Um, Nanami. Wait. You really aren't going to use that, are y-" she began to say before she heard Sima's voice come over the intercom telling them they failed the test because they fight work as a team to get the information. She loosened her hold on the man's wrists and looked down at him. She lightly sighed, but before she could speak, she could hear the door slam and lock behind them. It was then that they felt an electric shock that coursed through her body. It felt like forever, but it only lasted ten seconds before it stopped. It was enough, though. She held onto the edge of the chair as she slowly stood up from the ground in time to hear Nanami tell them that her and Sigmund needed to put aside their differences.

It was just as she was about to say something that she heard Sigmund speak up and naturally he blamed it on her. "Of course you're going to blame this on me to make yourself feel justified. I think out of between the two of us, you're the one that needs to grow up," Nori said with a scowl. "I'm willing to take the blame and own up to things I may have said or done that effected our results for this test, but I'm still not going to let you think it's okay for you to belittle me and treat me like I'm beneath you, Sigmund. We're all in the same boat right now and not one of us is better than the other, but we're all part of this team and we all have strengths that we can contribute. As a leader, you're supposed to inspire Nanami and I to do better and as a team, we all need to bring out the best, not the worse, in each other. I'm willing to put everything aside and focus on what matters: passing these exams." Nori turned on her heel and made her way over to Sigmund before she stopped a few feet in front of him.

"Look, Sigmund. Ever since we were kids, I've looked up to you. You were strong. You were smart. And you were the most knowledge hungry person I knew. I was so proud to be your friend, but we're older now and although you choose not to be my friend anymore, I have to respect that. I am going to let go of the past and stand on my own two feet. I just ask that as your teammate, you treat me with a little bit of respect and make me feel like I am apart of this team. Don't just dismiss me and what I have to say because I do matter. If you can do those things, I will follow you as a leader until the end," she said and held out her hand to Sigmund. "Deal?"

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Sigmund just looked at her without no sign of any emotions in his face or any sort of body language. She kept ranting whereas he kept quiet with really nothing to say. She wanted to make up whereas he wanted to just be done with her. He felt he didn't do anything wrong. He also felt he had no need to apologize and seriously shake her hand for something incredibly stupid. It was two against one regardless. As she held her hand out, he didn't even move an inch or a muscle to even both bringing his hand up. He just continued to look at her, before he finally stood up, bringing his hands to his pockets and moved passed her. He walked towards the bolted door, placing his hand on it. "I just want to be done with this and that's it. After these exams, I'm leaving," he told them.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Challenge 3:

It was only moments before the bolted door unlocked and swung open. The group moves forward onto the next room. Once they're in, the door immediately closed shut, the bolts locking into place. The one thing they notice as they enter is the temperature dropped and they could hear water, but the water isn't in the room, not yet anyways. On the ceiling a large tube was half way in this room where water could definitely fill this room up. Another opening in the wall looked like it connected itself to the other room on the other side allowed water to flow out of the room like a suction cup. Across the room, there is a metal plaque that lights up and has instructions once again on the metal bolted door.

"You better love water because you fishes may be swimming. This room and the other room are connected in terms of this challenge involving water. The water is extremely cold due to the cold temperatures so you may freeze to death. Injector chamber is this room and container chamber is the next room. The current status of injector chamber is at 0 of 3 million sangen. Container chamber is at 0 of 5 million sangen. Unstable at 4 million sangen. Pressure would rupture chamber seal, causing both rooms to empty out and you can safely move on. There is a control panel in front of you that works well underwater if need be. Be smart and don't drown fishes.

The control panel was right under the plaque and looking at the options, they had multiple options. It would seem there will be a pattern for this challenge and if done wrongly, they could drown and fail.

The first options are:
-Fill Container Chamber
-Fill Injector Chamber
-Or do nothing.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

When Nori saw Sigmund not make an attempt to reach a truce with her and just brush past her like she was invisible, it honestly hurt her but at the same time, didn't surprise her. She slowly lowered her hand down to her side and looked down to her feet. She smirked. "Yeah...maybe you should," she said in a low tone as she curled her hands into fists. "You were going to leave anyway, right? You don't need us. All you ever needed was yourself." It was then that the door opened and she turned around to look at it. So the next challenge was beginning. Nori walked over towards Nanami, taking her hand and giving it a small squeeze before she led her over to the door where Sigmund was standing. She brushed past him and instantly felt the temperature drop when she entered the room.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Sigmund didn't bother with her attitude anymore. He ignored her. She continued with her drama and her sarcastic remarks, and even insulting ones, but he didn't even allow it to get to him anymore. Why should he? They were better off without him anyways because they both had some serious issues with him. He watched them brush passed him and he just shrugged to himself. For the time being, he would stay back. He would continue to allow Nori to be the hot shot here. Unfortunately, Nanami would just have to deal with it.

He entered the room last and when he did, he noticed the temperature drop and he heard running water, but it wasn't in the room. Just then, the door swung closed behind him, locking shut. Great. he thought to himself. He saw the plague light up and it seemed that would be there instructions. He walked up to it and read it over once, before stepping aside and moving towards the back, memorizing the plague for future reference.

Nanami probably does the last thing anyone would expect in this situation. She walks up to Sigmund and gives him a gentle hug. Nanami then steps back "Sigmund-kun I'll make a deal with you. If you are so dead set at becoming ANBU or like him. I'll help you. But first you will have to man up and be the leader we need you to be. In return, after these exams I'll speak with father about putting in a good word for you to the ANBU commander. No promises. But I will try to get you in the door."

She smiles "Your two personalities are completely opposite. I got to see the real you up on that roof. A you that smiled, cared, and even laughed. That's the Sigmund I like. Your impersonation of Sasuke will do one of two things it will cause you to become a rogue ninja like he did, because you will realize the reasons you became an ANBU ninja were not your own. Or we will die right here in this chamber. I'll give you a minute to decide before I test out one of those levers." She walks back to the levers and waits for his response.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nori knew that Sigmund was only going to dismiss everything she said as being dramatic, but that wasn't the way she was trying to be at all. It was just easier for him to think of it that way than really deal with what were her real feelings. She was willing to start over clean, but it wasn't going to happen. She wanted to just get these exams over with already. She stopped in the middle of the room and turned back to look at Nanami, but then she saw her walk over towards Sigmund and give him a hug. The action surprised her, but Nori knew Nanami was just trying to be the peace between them and she was grateful for that. If her and Sigmund were alone... She just shook her head and looked away from them before she walked over to look down at the plaque. So the point of this was not to drown. She sighed. Great.

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Sigmund was in shock when Nanami hugged him and went on to tell him about how he wanted to be in ANBU and like his idol, Sasuke Uchiha. She promised him a good word if he continued on with the exams as their leader. That wasn't even the issue though. It was more so the issue between Nori and Sigmund. He loved being a leader but how can you lead a team that is constantly at your throat. He made no movement to hug her back. She also explained that he had two different and completely opposite personalities and that she liked the Sigmund who laughed and smile as oppose to the quiet, insensitive one. He just sighed, thinking about all she said before looking at Nori. "Stay out of my way," he told her before going to the plaque and reading it over again. "Lets just get this done. We fight again and then I am done. You'll be on your own," he warned them.

Looking over at the instructions and the control panel, he wanted to figure this out before they did anything. "It seems like if we overload the seals, the rooms will drain and we are free. But in order to do that, we may have to endure some water," he explained.

At hearing Sigmund's voice from beside her, Nori turned her head and looked over at him. She stepped off to the side and just stayed a few feet away from him. She never wanted to fight with him to begin with, but she just bit her tongue. "Fine. Let's just all work together as a team to get through this," she said before she clasped her hands behind her back and looked back to the plaque from a distance. "So, do we have to overload the seals by balancing out the water proportions in each chamber?"

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nanami shook her head "Its more or less a math problem. He said the seals would burst if we managed to create enough pressure. First thing we might want to do is figure how much water is released with each go of the lever. We need a total of four million to cause the seals to burst and the water to flow out. So I would suggest trying the one that floods the other room. Also if it is only so much with each go. We can use our water walking training to stay dry for a little bit. This room maxes out at three million, the other room five million. So we have to reach the four million range. But then there is this odd -Do nothing- lever.. Its very curious. It may be whats stops the water flow into a room."

She pauses and looks at Sigmund "Your thoughts?"

Sigmund looked it over and just shrugged. "I highly doubt that. Just leave that option alone. It says do nothing and perhaps that's honestly what it will do," he explained as he checked the pressure from each chamber. "Like you said. It's a math problem and we just have to think this through because at some point, this room is going to need filling and we are gonna have to get through the cold water and manage to hold our breaths and also react with a new option quickly," he explained as he started rubbing his hands together, trying to keep them warm. He didn't like the sound of it but it was true.

Nori nodded in agreement. "I agree. Let's just leave it alone for now. It may or it may not do anything. It could say 'do nothing' but it may actually be our only viable option," she said and folded her arms across her chest to keep her hands warm before she looked from chamber to chamber. Now we just have to figure out how much water we're supposed to release into each chamber without us actually drowning."

Chapter 2.7: Exam 2

Nanami ponders "Well here is the only issue I have with what he said. He said four million would destabilize the seals. But if it was only four million on one side that would be to easy. We could fill the other room with four million and solved. Well enough theorizing, we are not even sure how much water is released when we use this control panel. So start with the other room? Lets not completely ignore the -do nothing button.- It may be just a distraction, or it may be the key to our survival. So which one shall we try? This room, the other room. Or maybe even hitting both simultaneously?"
