Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

Sima made his way to the stadium. The audience was able to of course take a brief intermission from the last match to eat, use the rest room, mingle around, and for the Kages to discuss the impression of the village. One particulary proud had to have been the Hokage himself, Naruto, for his village was the only one left to make it this far.

Two Konoha Genin were to face each other in this match. They were both from the same squad and rumor had it, they are both rivals as well.

Sima made his way to the center of the stadium, staring at the Kages one by one from down below. "Will the two contestants make their way to the stadium. The last semi-final match is about to begin," he announced, with a microphone in hand. His message could be heard from the infirmary as well.

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

<<<Infirmary<<<

Sigmund made his way to the stadium, entering from behind and finding his way to the center where the Lighting Jonin waited. There was no sign of Nori yet. Likely she would be taking her time for the fact she was injured. He remained still and quiet for the time being. The half of the broken arrow he received from Nanami remained in his pant's pocket. He was still confused for its significance but he thought of it as more for luck than anything.

From his waist, he untied his headband that represented his village and held it tightly in his hand. He unzipped his jacket, pulling his arms out from the sleeves and tossing it on the floor. He already ruined it from his last match, he didn't want to further ruin it anymore than he should. Underneath he wore a white tank top. It was dirty. Full of old sweat, dirt, and his own blood plus Chisame's. His tank remained stained from his hardships so far.

He wasn't going to give up. He wanted this more than anyone. Nori may have her desire to show that he isn't so weak or looked for Sigmund's respect or even rekindle their friendship, but Sigmund wasn't interested in any of that. He wanted to win to make his family proud. He wanted to represent his village in the best way that he could. His ultimate goal is to work under the ANBU. He knew he can make it. He was always the top of his class. He trains like no tomorrow. He was very influenced by Sasuke Uchiha himself. Sigmund hadn't only heard the stories about him and as a little lad, he had only saw Sasuke in passing and that was it. It was one of the most influential moments in husband life.

He tighten his grip on the headband within his hand. His ultimate goal was to train personally under Sasuke and by achieving the graduation from the academy at age 11 and winning the Chunin Exams, he was bound to impress Sasuke enough attract his attention. He raised his hands to his forehead, placing the metal plate of his village insignia facing outwards and began tying the cloth behind his head. His face changed from determined to a face that he was guaranteed to win.

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

<<From Infirmary>>

Nori made her way to the stadium from the infirmary with the sound of her own footsteps echoing in the hallway and falling back on her ears. She closed her eyes ever so briefly, letting the sounds of the spectators in the stadium bleachers and her heartbeat mix together and resonate within her soul. She could only think back to the moments when she first started training at the academy and how hard she worked each and every day despite the obstacles that stood in her way. She could remember each and every second that she trained. Growing up, she had no friends. Maybe by her own choosing because she was such a tomboy. Since the beginning, she never thought of herself as just an ordinary girl. Most girls were repulsed by her and no boy wanted to be a friend to a girl who thought of herself as a boy...except Sigmund. Nori could remember the first moment she met him. He was the only person that didn't see her like the others did. He befriended her. Talked to her. Helped her train. Was friends with her. She really thought that out of anyone in the world...he was the only one that was on her side. Somehow, someway, she lost that support and it pained her. This was where they stood. They were from the same village, but on opposing sides. She knew that she was only obstacle for him to get through to reach his goals, but then again, the same could be said of her. Nori had her own things she wanted to accomplish with her life, but her main goal wasn't just to be a Chunin or a Jonin. She wanted to effect change. She wanted to be the inspiration to someone like Rock Lee was to her growing up. Maybe she didn't have to accomplish that with these exams. She couldn't die or else what difference would she have made?

Nori stopped walking once she reached the end of the tunnel. She could feel the wind blow the dust up and hit her face, causing her eyelids slowly lift up and reveal the black orbs behind them. They wondered across the stadium, taking in each and every person that was staring down at the person in the center. Her eyes drifted down, seeing Sigmund's figure standing there at a distance. She pressed her lips together tightly and just stared at him. It was all coming down to this moment in time where every second of training was coming into play. The Hokage from their village was here and he was sure to be watching intently. There was no doubt Sigmund felt his presence and wanted to do him and their village proud. He wasn't the only one... She took a deep breath and looked down at the arrow that Nanami had given her and Sigmund. She wasn't sure exactly what it was for, but it was still a sign that her friend was with her and apart of this fight. She twirled the broken arrow between her fingers before she slipped it into the side of her boot. In doing so, she began to make her way towards the center of the stadium. Her eyes stayed on Sigmund as the light breeze ruffled her hair and carried it off to the side. She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous or if fear wasn't running through her veins right now, but one thing was certain: the look of determination and strength in her expression. Nori dropped her crutch to the floor and began to limp her way closer to Sigmund and Sima. Once she was a good distance away from each of them, she stopped. The breeze grew a little stronger as she stared into Sigmund's eyes and clutched her fists at her sides.

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

Sima waited patiently as Nori made her way to the center to join her opponent. He noticed the limp; he felt bad that she would have to be in such pain while she fought against someone she personally knew. However the battles must go on. These battles were different. Everybody in Kumogakure was watching, but more importantly the Five Great Kages were now watching every move, every jutsu used, and every single genin specifically. However there was an extra Daimyo up there from the Land of Snow. This was the most important factor because if he noticed how great these exams were, word would spread and the doors would be open more for more Daimyos to come observe in the future. Once the names were matched, battles began one-by-one. They were life or death battles and Sima had the power to call it off or allow it to continue as he saw fit. They were all escorted to the huge stadium within the center of Kumogakure. This is where the legendary shinobi started. "Will the contestants come forward please," he instructed and waited patiently and then began talking again. "As you were told, these are life or death matches. I will only intervene if it seems hopeless, one of you collapses and cannot get up, or the obvious, one of you dies. If you cherish your life, surrender or else the battle goes on," he explained. "There are no rules. Now begin!" he finished and stepped back a couple of yards and enjoyed the show.

GM rules:

Sigmund:
Injury: Deep gash on neck; no healing time to recover; stitched however could possibly rupture. Taijutsu penalty.

Nori:

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

Sigmund remained quiet as the proctor told them the basic rules of match as per usual. Even though it was said it was a death match, he had no intent in making this particular match a death one so he would hate to disappoint his next opponent, Kotatsu. He stared into Nori's eyes. "I'm giving you one more chance to back down now, Nori. You don't stand a chance in this condition," he taunted her. He was being serious, but at the same time he was trying to antagonize her so she could put up the best fight she'll ever have to fight for.

The only downfall for the both of them is that they didn't have the eliminate of surprise. They both knew about each other and their techniques. However his advantage was distance and his kekkei. Nori didn't have one and was only a taijutsu specialist. Distance wasn't her friend. Sigmund specialized in both in order to execute his powerful techniques but he didn't have the eliminate of surprise because she would see every attack coming. Even though he knew he was stronger than her by far, it probably would prove to be one of his toughest matches yet.

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

Nori listened quietly as she heard Sima explain the rules to them of the match. Despite him saying that it was going to be life or death, she had no intention of killing Sigmund if it came down to it. She wouldn't kill anyone just to simply win a match like this. "I appreciate the offer, Sigmund, but you aren't fully recovered from your last fight yet, are you? Better be careful or else you may bleed out from that wound of yours," she told her teammate. She wasn't oblivious to the wounds that Sigmund had been inflicted with from his last fight. She had carefully assessed him when he first came into the infirmary. His body hadn't been able to fully recover, but then again, neither did she. She knew she had to be careful with this leg of her's and keep off of it as much as possible. She would have to rely mainly on the one leg with the most strength in this fight, but it wasn't impossible. Nori doubted that despite her teammate not having fully recovered that he was going to let that slow him down.

There were many different factors that were going to go into this fight. One being that both of them had injuries that could potentially risk this match for either of them. Perhaps that was an advantage for both of them. She knew it would be for Sigmund seeing as how he made it clear that he wasn't going to take it easy on her despite her injury. That was fine with her. Fractured bones and cuts would heal, but the inner wounds wouldn't. Nori knew what she had to do. Sigmund was great at fighting. That was a fact for sure. However, she knew she had advantages over him, too, in certain areas. Knowing him for a long time and knowing what he could do was in somewhat of an advantage for her, but the same could be said of him. He knew what she could do. What moves she had, but he didn't know everything and that was where she would surprise him. Nori closed her eyes briefly, letting her body slide into its natural fighting position. She could hear the chanting, the hollering, and the sound of Sima telling them to begin. This was it. Her hands slowly slid down her hips and to the kunai secured in their sheaths behind her back. Once her fingers touched the handles, her eyelids opened and stared at Sigmund with a fierce look of determination in her eyes.

Semi-Final Match: Akitoki VS Yamada

Nori had tried to scare and taunt Sigmund but to no avail. He didn't care about his neck. Hell, he would rather have bled out than to lose to Nori of all people. He smirked. "You don't scare me. I would rather bleed out from an entertaining fight rather than lose to you of all people. If I could, I'd rip this wound open but you see," he paused and moved his head from side to side, cracking his neck. His eyes seemed to change in the process. Instead of the beautiful dark blue he always had, they changed to a bright green. Underneath his eyes a red eye shadow seemed to have surfaced to the skin. "what fun would that be if I don't get to defeat you first?"

He took a stance, bending his knees and separating them. He extended his arms forward, pointing his fingers at her. He aimed directly at her fractured leg. He was going to immobilize her as much as he could because taijutsu users relied heavily on hand-to-hand combat which consisted of their hands and feet, their essential parts for their techniques. "Ten-finger Drilling Bullets!" he announced, as the horrid crackling noise could be heard and echoed within the stadium.

The skin opened up on his finger tips, poking out bright white bones shaped like gun bullets. The Hardened bones from the fingertips are shot at the enemy, in this case Nori was his enemy. With a spinning motion added to the skeletal bullets, they launched towards Nori and her fractured leg. 8 bullets were shot towards her to test the wasters. The bones could even break a Kunai knife, the one Sigmund knew Nori had behind her. She was always too predictable. A direct hit will excavate the skin, flesh, and bone. They needed to hit her leg just right. He was going for her fracture and her knee cap. That's all he needed to do.
