Chapter 4: Homecoming
Sasuke had remained quiet as Nanami prepared a thesis about their entire mission. He eventually sat down as he knew this was going to be awhile. He remained attentive and did not react to any of the subjects that were brought up. Particular names, incidents, and the overall mission at the end are what interested him the most.
He studied Nanami as she continued on through her various deep breathing and trying to conceal her emotions. He was more curious and interested in her emotional distress than the actual story. Towards the end, she began questioning him which made him stand back up from the desk that belonged to the great and current Hokage. "That is not your concern," he told her. This wasn't her place to start questioning him.
"As for the tissue samples you stole from your teammate without consent, unfortunately any information we find is off limits," he explained as he walked over to a filing cabinet, searching for Sigmund's name. After pulling it out, he showed a scroll instead of a folder with a black tie on it. The outside of the scroll read confidential and top secret on the other side; in smaller print Sigmund's name appeared. "We are aware of who Sigmund is and his background; we are also aware of who his birth parents are and how it came to be. However it is restricted information. His tissue samples will help confirm what we've been thinking," he explained as he placed the scroll away and walked back to the desk. "I'm going to need those samples," he demanded with his hand out.
"I know you were expecting a reaction from me. However I am aware of who Akasumi is. She is my great aunt; I've known this information for quite some time now. She's barely surfaced out of the blue, but I have yet to confront her myself," he explained. He wasn't one to share such personal information, but by confirming this, this would help ease Nanami's own doubts and put it to rest when it came to the Uchiha name.
"As for the overall mission: you all failed," he blurted out, pointing out the obvious. "It was clear that neither of you were to engage Kotatsu and yet somehow you all managed to do so regardless. You all lack being obedient. All of you allowed personal feelings and personal affairs get in the way of working as a team. You all lack teamwork. You also failed your objective as you, Nanami, destroyed the light beam tower the first time without gathering how it worked or what exactly it did. The second light beam tower is still standing," he went on as he continued to scold them all. "The only thing you accomplished was freeing the land of frost from the grips of the Snow and brought back little intel on them," he added as he still awaited for the samples of both Sigmund and from the snow shinobi.
"Your squad is suspended indefinitely until further notice. Neither of you are allowed to leave Konohagakure without my knowledge and sign off," he said. A suspension meant they couldn't take on missions or leave the village. "As for you, in the back," his eyes finding Shiroma's. "Tsuna Shiroma was it? Here," he said, tossing her a leaf headband. "You now represent Konohagakure. Your skills are impressive, however you are suspended with the squad you have chosen to tag along with. Once I have your new leader assigned, we'll be in contact, but until then you are all dismissed," he said, sending them away at this point. Nanami was now left to hand over the samples so the group could go figure out what they needed to do next.
