The Eaves of Mirkwood
I'm now recruiting players for an 'Adventures In Middle Earth' game - Cubicle7's open licence Middle Earth setting for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. It will work through the Eaves Of Mirkwood introductory scenario, and hopefully beyond.
This is my first time GM'ing but I'm familiar with roleplaying games, having played Traveller, D&D and Runequest way back in the 1980s.
By profession I'm a copy writer so I will hopefully create a nice narrative that players will feel engaged with. To help the style remain coherent and consistent, I'd ask that all potential players should be native or fluent English speakers, with the ability to write good narrative without spelling or basic grammatical errors.
Experience of D&D5E is helpful but not essential, but a knowledge of Tolkien's Middle Earth - either from the films or the books - would be very useful as I intend the game to be played in a similar style; gritty, serious but not without the odd injection of humour.
Six players are required, each playing one of the following pre-generated characters:
lifstan, son of Ieiknir – a Barding Warrior
Beran of the MountaIns – a Beorning Warden
Beli – a Dwarf of the Lonely Mountain and Treasure Hunter
Caranthiel – an Elf of Mirkwood and Scholar
Trotter – a Hobbit Wanderer
The Bride – a Woodwoman of Wilderland and Slayer
If you're interested in participating, please PM me with details of which pre-generated character you'd like to play and any experience you have playing PBP games.
