Star Wars: Rebel Yell
It is one year before the Battle of Yavin. The Rebel Alliance is growing in strength. They're still in hiding, mostly organizing resistance cells on hundreds of planets and striking Imperial convoys. The Rebel Alliance is still short on everything: weapons, ships, parts, food, materials. Everything is precious to them as they try to establish new bases across many worlds in an effort to spread themselves so far that the Empire cannot wipe them out with one superweapon.
Little do they suspect that such a superweapon is in its final stages of construction. Time is running out for the Rebellion faster than they think. Still they continue as they have before: building in secret, recruiting in secret, hiding their leaders, and spreading out their fleet.
Our story opens on the planet Taanab in the Inner Rim. It is an agricultural world of green meadows and farms that stretch for thousands of kilometers. Like all Inner Rim planets, it is poor in natural resources, which is why the Empire has developed it into such a productive granary. The Empire provides very little defense to their breadbasket. Only one small garrison exists just outside of the capital city of Pandath.
Recently the Empire has noticed more ships arriving than normal. There hasn't been a great increase in goods entering the local economy however. Suspecting Rebel activity, they shot down a Corvette as it entered the atmosphere that was not heading toward Pandath. After searching the wreckage they discovered construction materials. It appears that the Rebellion has been secretly constructing a base on Taanab. The Empire is breathing a sigh of relief as they have just stopped the Rebellion from putting a base within easy reach of the Core Worlds. Still, the job is not yet over. Where there is a Rebel base under construction there are sure to be Rebels. The local garrison is now determined to round up every traitor against the Empire.
