IC and Advice: College of the Damned? Or Soulsborne?
Hello everybody! My life had been pretty crazy for a while, but now I think I'm just about ready to start a new game. Right now I'm in between two specific concepts though, and I'm wondering what people might be interested in. Here are the two games...
University of the Damned: This is technically a redo of a game that I had planned before, but fell apart due to a few factors. That being said, I have a few ways to fix up the game and have a new and improved version! Currently I am planning to implement it through Savage Worlds, a very easy to learn, light system, but am somewhat open to others. This game would feature a group of college students who have undergone supernatural phenomena that threatens to turn them into monsters. Will they cling to their humanity and reclaim it? Will they give into their urges and become true monsters? How will they deal with the more mundane issues of their lives? There are a great many interesting stories that can be told, an I would be thrilled to explore them. Primary inspirations would include works such as Teen Wolf, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and various World of Darkness titles.
Soulsborne Style Game: This would be a Roleplay inspired by the Dark Souls games. It would feature the player characters as cursed figures who must explore and learn the secrets of a lost civilization, trapped in a horrifying cycle of death and rebirth. I was originally thinking of running it in Shadow of the Demon Lord with some homebrewed immortality mechanics, but I'm open to other options as well. I would add a slightly larger interaction component to the game due to its nature as a Play by Post roleplaying game.
I'm unsure of which concept to run, but I have plenty of ideas for both? Any Advice or suggestions?
