Strange Ports

As Arryn get himself excused, a dwarf move closer to the group location in a non-threatening way. Staying a few feet away from the barmaid, whom he eye cautiously, he looked back to the group

"Dear adventurers, I am sorry but I couldn't help myself and heard some glimpse of your conversation about this place. I do not know any of you, nor anyone here, but I know that this thick fog feels unnatural and I can't seems to recall how I arrived here. Its already been two days since I arrived here and I recognized nothing, its as if I am in a new city... I was praying to the great god these past two days that everything would go back to normal... and it seems I will have to explore this city. I am not a coward but I believe in strength of numbers and that coincidence are opportunities to be seized. Seems to me that we may had the same "bad luck" of ending up here and that maybe we could help one another by working together. What are your thoughts?

Reghar shoulder relax just a little after he finished talking, he was under heavy stress since his arrival and this was his best opportunity to try to get answers.

Hopefully these adventurers will agree to travel together, even if it's just for a short while.

In reply to Reghar Blackcrow (msg # 61):

"Pull up a barstool my good friend!"
Stoney motions to a seat near him.
"Seems we are all in the same boat together, probably keeps a fine establishment like this open, too!"
Stoney is not a very suspicious person, and a friend to all.
"You need to relax my friend. Grab a drink for yourself.  Tell me where you are from?"

"I am glad to hear that"

Taking a bar stool, eghar bring his pint of beer. Everyone in the tavern can hear him move around thanks to his full plate being noisy as hell.

My name is Reghar and I used to live near Saratoga. The pirates in my region were all murderers, thieves and slave raiders. I as trying to pursue them and bring justice and suddenly I found myself surrounded by thick fog and the next thing I sa was this place.

Since the last two days I was wondering how I should explore the region. Seems there are mysterious evil force around here and we must be careful, hence I woul dprefer company to explore. What about you? ow many people in your group? Do e have any other person of faith?

Reghar watch the small man and the rest of the group.

"Of course since you already agreed to let me in your group, we could always discuss in more details tomorrow after the sunrise, I will let you decide, I do not want to keep you awake more than necessary.

"Faith?  I'll raise a cup to that!"
Raises his glass & takes a drink.  Wiping his mouth free with his sleeve.
"I myself am an initiate of faith. Teaching the townsfolk, and continually praying and working off my sins with the brothers of my order."
Takes another drink.
"The fog took me, too, which I suppose is a test of my faith.  To see if I can help the folks around here, or maybe one of you, or maybe yourself.  Who knows, the Gods speak in riddles and metaphor."

"Well met Reghar.  You're welcome to join us if you wish." the barbarian stated taking another drink.

"Men of faith?" he said smiling."The gods test us for their own amusement. I honor the gods for their creation. But I put my faith in this."he added, resting his hand on the pommel of the 2-handed sword resting at his side against the bar.

Morning breaks across the town of Strangeport, although none of you could tell as the tavern is indeed boarded up tight.  It is not until the doorman begins loosening bolts that you awake, and rather rudely as he then proceeds to throw open the entrance door, flooding the dark chamber in rich but blinding sunlight.  Slowly but surely the other patrons begin to stir, groaning and belching and scratching their way into coherence.  Peering outside it would appear as if nothing you had been told the night before was true.  The sounds of people, both young and old, can be heard echoing down the streets and there is no sign of any fog.  The barmaid left a note…

“Head to the towns gates to the north, ask for Captain Rasmir.”

OOC: You can either head straight for the gates or you can roam around town, if you prefer.

"What about some food, before we leave?  Hero's are entitled to a free breakfast and drink, aren't we?"
HEad tilted, trying to be  coy as he says it to the barmaid.

While the barmaid you spoke with appears to not be present, someone is manning the bar and you can definitely smell something delicious wafting in from the back somewhere.

Onyx wasn't sure if it would be better to make his way on his own or stay with the others.  The days might bear fruit but it seemed like the nights would spoil far too fast for his own safety.  Then there were the imps.  The thought of those things being free and killing the locals made his skin crawl.  "We need to see this Rasmir and decide our course before it decides for us."

As usual, Reghar woke up at 5am in the morning for his regular praying session. This was his preferred moment of the day, closest to his god. After that two hours, he came down to eat his fill and gave a tip to the waitress.

Seeing that everyone already had eaten or was gone, he decided to follow members from the group he saw yesterday. HE wasn't aware of much, except of mysterious disappearance, dark mist and goblins.

OCC: "I will just follow the group to the Captain or go alone if the group is already there."

Strange Ports

As you all gather outside, breathing in the crisp, salty morning air, you are indeed quite surprised by how pleasant everything seems.  The fog has completely retreated leaving behind a rustic yet bustling town.  With the sun now clearly shining, you can see that you aren't too fair from the pier you came in on (you believe anyway).  The town itself, while small, is quickly filled with the usual noise and chatter one would expect to find.  The markets open for the day and soon people begin filling the streets with vendors hawking various wares to any passerby.  You notice many individuals heading down to the docks to fish but strangely, no one seems to be sailing out for any reason.  In fact, except for 3 larger ships, nothing beyond the size of dingy can be seen.

Making your way to the northern most gates of the town you find a standard stone built archway with large oaken doors held shut by a large plank and several bolts.  On top of the wall archers can be seen pacing about in their duties while a handful of soldiers busy themselves with daily, mundane tasks...oiling armor, feeding the horses, etc.  Peering around, however, you begin to notice that perhaps only a small number might actually be soldiers.  Many look young...far too young to be serving in any military capacity.

As you approach the small training area, from one side of the stone archway, a door opens and a grizzled looking gentleman steps out.  His head is shaved down close to the scalp, revealing a plethora of scars.  His face shows signs of age and wear and his beard, while long and thick, is showing heavy signs of white throughout and a large section is bare; a large visible scar covering the patch.  His armor is simply leather, old and tired yet clearly polished and taken care of, despite the numerous holes and patches.

Captain Rasmir grabs Larzanders' hand with a firm grip; you are reminded of the feeling of worn and cracked leather.

"My apologies if I seem a tad agitated.  Been a lot of trouble around here lately and quite frankly, we're just not equipped enough nor have the man power to deal with it."

Looking towards Stoney then back to Larzander...

"I see your friend is a touch special.  Are you certain you are fighters?", asking in a quizzical tone.
