Help with editing.

First off, if this is the wrong forum, my apologies.

Here's the problem. Whenever I'm editing here, say like with a character sheet, my arrows are not doing what they are supposed to be doing. Here's what's happening. If I hit up, it goes to the start of the line. If I hit right, it goes to the end. If I hit down, it goes down two spaces (or one if there's not two). If I hit left, it goes to the end of the line right above.

This is only happening when I'm editing. Is something wrong here, or on my end? If it's my end, how in the world do I change it? This has gone from a minor annoyance to a major pain in my apple.

If it helps, I'm running Windows 10. Please, no comments about my OS, just answers to my question. Thanks.

Are you using a standard keyboard with dedicated arrow keys, or are they multi-function?  Since right now it sounds like the keys you're pressing are set to function like Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys.

Standard keyboard with arrow keys. They don't do this with anything else.

I can get my arrow keys to behave similarly (not exactly but very close in Firefox,  less so in IE) by holding down the control key at same time ... any chance your Control is sticking ?   I tested in Word as well, and the control key didn't seem to affect the arrow keys, so might be something that's just Browser related.

At work, Chrome. At home, Edge. It does it no matter what computer I'm on.

If it was just one computer - I would venture a guess that you had a scroll lock function activated.  But, multiple computers?

Check against browser settings and see if you use any similar "add ons" that might affect form/forum functionality.

You said you're using Windows 10, I assume that means you're using it both at home and at work?

Are you signing in with the same Microsoft account on both machines?

Windows 10 now has options to sync certain settings across machine when you sign in using the same account.  So it could be an OS setting you accidentally turned on that is being carried between the two machines that are causing the issue.

Just double checked my work computer, and it's not doing it. So it must be only my home comp. How do I check to see if my arrow keys are set wrong?

I don't know if you can do it in Win10, but in Win7 there is something called On-Screen Keyboard that allows you to see exactly what particular keys on the keyboard do. It is particularly useful when you use different language settings for the keyboard, but I suspect it may also help in your case.

If, of course, there is something like that in Win10.

Try Ease of Access or Accessibility settings too - there's something in there called Sticky Keys (or at least that's what it's called in Windows 7), which could be causing the problem.
