Is there any way to use a mic to generate my posts?

If you have some kind of talk-to-text software, yes.  I had a friend who crashed his motorcycle several years ago, broke both arms...he used...Dragon Speaking, I think it was called?  A dictation software that would take his spoken words and turn them into text.  (More details than that, I don't know...he lives in Korea, so it's not as though I was closely involved with any of the events.  I only knew about it because he said, in some of his social media posts, that he was working with the software...)

Okay, I will look into that. Does anyone know if it has to come with the mic, because I bought a cheap one, and it was just plug and play.

I had wondered if RPoL had put in some such functionality. I thought it was unlikely, but it seems at least once a month I find some new cool thing I can do that I was unaware of.

Grrr, why doesn't spell check recognize that i is not a word, and auto-correct.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking's a little expensive.  Windows 7 has this functionality built in, but I haven't tried it:  http://windows.microsoft.com/e...nition#1TC=windows-7.

Here's a list of software to try:  http://www.capterra.com/speech-recognition-software/

Speechnotes (http://www.capterra.com/speech...otes/Speechlogger%20) and Speechlogger (http://www.capterra.com/speech...hlogger/Speechlogger) both look like they have good reviews, and they're free to use.

Speechnotes:  https://speechnotes.co/
Speechlogger:  https://speechlogger.appspot.com/en/

I tried using Siri, but it wasn't very satisfactory to me.  For one thing, I write differently that I speak, and my speech is far simpler.

Wow, they shouldn't call you Mad Mick, but Extremely Helpful Mick! Thanks for the suggestions.

I just found out i could do it with my phone and have been having a blast. Not sure if it will work for me on RPoL, pretty much for the same reasons you mentioned, but I  thought I might try.

Again, thanks...

I regularly use my iPhone to post speech-to-text on RPOL. It takes some training to get it to come out right, but I've got mine to where I hardly have to edit misunderstandings anymore.

Is it difficult to deal with things like italics and private messages? I love sending texts by talking already, and I've only been doing it for a day. Given that it is already difficult to type on the phone, even if you avoid those things it could worthwhile.

Dragon has mor functionality to be able to highlight text to apply codes to, but if you want to take the time to spell things out for Siri, it can work there, too. Honestly, I usually go without special formatting of posting from speech, or turn my phone sideways and use the shift-lock and arrow keys to highlight the sections I want to apply a formatting code to -- it's easier than trying to double-tap and then drag the sliders to cover the section.

Sounds like a good option for playing, probably not that good a way to GM. Thanks for the thoughts.
