[1.02] Party Crashers

Small children tasked with being town criers ran through the streets announcing that the opening festival was about to commence. The crowds slowly started to drift away from the merchant booths and carnival games and drifted towards the space in front of the cathedral.

A small stage had been set up and several officials were standing around ready to deliver speeches that would kick off the feast. Even as people stood around waiting for the politicians to finish talking their eyes were drifting towards the trays of roasted meats and spiced cakes that were tickling their noses and tempting their stomachs.

Mayor Deverin takes the stage first.

"Good morning everyone. I see everyone's arrived. Even Larz Rovanky has left off tanning hides to be here. I'm sure his workers are glad it's not their hides getting tanned, at least not today."

There was a polite smattering of laughter and jeers towards the grumpy tanner who was standing in the crowd.

"It's wonderful to see so many of you here to join us on this proud day, and I'd like to extend my welcome to the many new faces I see in the crowd. As Mayor, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the town. I hope you all are enjoying your stay here in Sandpoint and I sincerely hope that you're having a wonderful time. Our town has much to offer and I hope we can consider you as new friends. Spend some time in Sandpoint and you’ll grow to love it like we do. And even if you don’t stay long, spend your money while you’re here!"

More laughter from visitors and townsfolk alike.

"And to all of the old faces I see, thank you for coming and thank you for everything that each of you has done to keep this town strong. Thank you especially for all the time, sweat, and love you've put into building this fine cathedral. The loss of the old church was quite the tragedy but now I feel with the opening of the new cathedral we can finally put that unpleasantness behind us.

Anyway, I can smell the lunch our tavern keepers are cooking already. A round of applause to Ameiko, Garridan, Cracktooth, and Jargie! I’m sure Father Zantus can spare an extra prayer that they don’t burn anything before we get to eat it. Now, since you have three more of us to stand there through, I’m going to sit down. Today as mayor I am declaring a town order to have fun!

"Without further ado, let me welcome our dutiful Sheriff, Belor Hemlock to the stage!"

The crowd gave an enthusiastic applause for their beloved mayor, the upcoming sheriff, and especially because with one speech down there was only a few more to go before the festival officially kicked off.

A dark-skinned, bulky man, clearly of Shoanti descent, wearing his armor and armed with a prestigious looking sword climbed up, giving a nod to the Mayor on his way.

"Thank you, Mayor. First off, let us have a moment of silence."

He bows his head and the crowd does likewise before he continues speaking.

"Let us remember the memories of those friends and family members who lost their lives in the tragic blaze that made our new cathedral necessary. Cherish those memories and may the blessings of our Gods see them happy and well in the Afterlife."

He raises his head and stands in silence for a moment scanning the crowd.

"Over the next three days all instances of wrong-doing will be dealt with swiftly and to the fullest extent of the law. No exceptions. As the sheriff of Sandpoint, I, Belor Hemlock, would also like to welcome everyone to enjoy themselves today, and you may or may not be aware of the planned bonfire at the beach tonight... it looks to be a promising festival. Do trust that I will be monitoring the level of safe conduct late into the evening. I am trusting our fun will lean to the side of caution. If you are a militia member, remember where your duties lay, and help Sandpoint keep the peace. Thank you."

With that the sheriff steps back awkwardly and beckons with his hand, for the next speaker to approach.

The next speaker is quite a contrast to the Sheriff. He is brightly dressed sporting a well-groomed goatee and seems to be thoroughly enjoying the day. As he reaches the center stage he loosens his collar a bit, winks into the crowd before speaking with the silky smooth voice of a stage actor.

"Well, thank you Sheriff for that uplifting oratory. Don't worry I doubt there will be any fun for you to stress over today. If things get out of hand you can ask Ameiko take the stage and put as all to sleep with one of her stories."

The crowd responds with a combination of chuckles and offended heckles.

"What about the story of your last flop at the theater? I'm almost done with my newest ballad, I call it Cyrdak the Unimpressive! Who wants to hear?"

The crowd responds with laughter and cheers.

After the noise finally quiets Cyrdak continues with a forced smile as if nothing happened.

"We can all agree that this is our time to celebrate! I know this town has been through some hard times, but we don't lay down easily. Look at what we've accomplished!"

Cyrdak pauses to gesture dramatically towards the large cathedral behind the stage.

"And I'm telling you, they spared no expense with this place. Father Zantus' chamber pot? It's solid gold and comes with a singing choir standing nearby. It's no doubt our neighbors and nobles put a pretty copper into the construction of this joint. To think they wanted nothing in return, but to enlighten us and our taxes for many lifetimes to come. But worry not about your coin purse, I've heard from father himself that the gods are getting their gold together to help pay for this place. Any day now they will show up and pay us back for all the sacrifices we've undertaken in their names. Any day now, I'm sure of it."

He pauses, grinning as a few in the crowd chuckle at his rapid fire "jokes". The general silence though does little to discourage him from continuing.

"Don't take it from me, let me hand the stage off to the man who knows whose in charge here. But before I let him get things going I'd like to take this opportunity to extend my personal invitation to each and every one of you to the new production of The Harpy’s Curse starring the world-famous Magnimarian diva Allishanda as Avisera as the Harpy Queen! It's all premiering tomorrow evening and continuing throughout the next two weeks at the Theater. Come see it, it will be fabulous! And now join me in a bit of applause for his holiness himself, Father Zantus!"

Cyrdak gave a suitably enthusiastic applause as he exited stage left to make way for the final speaker. The crowd cheers and while it seems they do like Father Zantus and are happy that Cyrdak's speech is over, most of the crowd is stealing looks at the delicious trays of food just waiting to be eaten.

The young priest looks noticeably abashed at the reception set up for him. He wears the traditional ceremonial robes of a priest of Desna and a shiny silver holy symbol about his neck. He smiles and tries to calm the crowd down, eventually speaking when the applause has subsided.

"Thank you. Thank you Cyrdak. And thank all of you for coming to join us on this most Holy day. Today ushers in the new Fall season. A season I have always thought was named appropriately, as today was the day Desna fell from the heavens during battle with Lamashtu. Though all the world wept for the loss of the goddess, in truth she survived. She was discovered on the rocks of a beach by a blind orphan, forgotten and cast aside by the rest of the world. Though the orphan didn’t know who she was and could do little for the wounded goddess she still stayed by her side holding a vigil on the beach tending to her as best she could and praying to her god, Desna. When other followers had abandoned Desna, the orphan empathized and held hope in her faith. Through the care of this orphan Desna recovered and revealed herself to the blind girl. In return Desna transformed her into an angel and offered the girl ascension to Desna's palace in the heavens. It is now there and forever that they shall remain."

Father Zantus motions toward the newly finished cathedral, the sunlight glittering off the stained glass windows.

"This story reminds us that tragedy is just a setback, not an end. Though our place of worship was destroyed and our previous priest, Father Tobyn, perished in the flame we have preserved as Desna would desire and built anew. Today is our day of new beginnings. Our day of ascension. Friends of Sandpoint, I declare the Swallowtail Festival officially..."

[1.02] Party Crashers

His speech is interrupted by the crack of thunder. It reverberates through the air, echoing off the buildings around town. Instinctively the crowd looks up trying to catch sight of the rain clouds but the sky is clear and blue.

There is another blast of thunder, and another. The lightning strikes should be right on top of the crowd and yet the air is still clear. Confused the crowd starts drifting apart trying to figure out where the source of the sound is coming from.

A little boy calls out from the crowd.

"I saw something! I saw something! Over there!"

He points towards a nearby merchant stall. Several guardsmen draw their weapons and cautiously approach. More thunder cracks out from around town and the crowd of townsfolk begin to panic. Some are whispering that the gods are displeased, probably with Cyrdak's comedy routine, and have cursed the town.

Just then a figure emerges from beneath the cart, an old stray dog that had crawled underneath the stall to sleep out of the sun. Even with the sound of thunder continuing to blast around them the guardsmen relax, laughing and resheathing their weapons.

Then the screaming starts. The dog collapses onto the ground and a pool of blood starts to form out around it. Then the smell of smoke hits the air, a smell not coming from the cooking fires. More screams start to echo out around town in between the blasts of thunder that continue to strike the town.

"FIRE!"

And then another voice from around the corner

"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! ALARM!"

Another blast of thunder drowns out the next few screams but finally it subsides enough to hear it clearly.

"GOBLINS!"

Faeli's heart jumped into her throat at which crack of thunder which sounds around the village but when the cry of "GOBLIN" rang out, she was drained of all color. The gnome's eyes darted nervously around the crowded area but all she caught was the midsections of most of Sandpoint's townsfolk.

Perhaps this was a good thing? Faeli though, her mind grasping for advantage against foes which she knew to be treacherous, cunning, and ruthless.

Perhaps I will be able to see those little monsters before they cut through the crowd. Faeli thought to herself.

That is, if I do not get trampled first...

Talitha was enjoying the different speakers and how they were mentioning one another. It was clear that in Sandpoint the people knew each other enough to make inside jokes with the whole town. That was nice, bit she least her small village to look for adventures, so it was still early to think about settling down in a place like this.
She was entertained with these thoughts when she heard the shout. "Goblins!" She should worry about the civilians around her, but she couldn't help but draw a smile in her face. She'd spent to long in the road with no action, so this would be a nice change.

And obviously, the best way to defend these people was with a strong attack. Win-win situation.
She looked around looking for the creatures, but so far her sword and shield were not yet in her arms, and that was a problem.
She hoped she would have time before they stroke.

Tristen was a bit disappointed that he didn't get a closer spot when the speeches began. The disappointment dulled when it was apparent that a stage had been created for each speaker. He joined in on the humor and clapped with the others. He appreciated that the sheriff reminded the crowd that law and order would be maintained during this celebration. He craned his head and viewed the people that made the crowd. Each were good town folk and farmers. Abadar blessing would surely bless Sandpoint and its citizens.

He was ripped out of his silent prayer with the crack of thunder. He looked up expecting rain. But quickly realized it was something else as one town folk after another gave shouts of alarm, until someone finally shouted.

"GOBLINS!

"There! To the east! Three of them!!"

Kaddock enjoyed the games and food and had taken advantage of many of the booths and exercises of skill or luck.  He was currently munching on a stick holding roasted meats and vegetables as he listened to the speeches with amusement.  The ways of the city peoples were different  but he felt a growing bond with the friendly and enthusiastic people of this town.

When the cracking of thunder ripped through the town he looked about warily and moved closer to his erstwhile comrades.  As the creatures swarmed out into the town he called out as well.  "Goblins!  Goblins!  Get the women and children to shelter!"

The goblins pull out crude and cruel looking pieces of jagged metal, dogslicers as they often call them, and leap forward cutting into guards and townsfolk alike. All of them begin to take up a song, discordant and chaotic, as they begin their deadly work.

"Goblins chew and goblins bite
Goblins cut and goblins fight
Stab the dog and cut the horse
Goblins eat and take by force!"

Three goblins charge in at the two guardsmen to the north. Luckily their chainmail seems to take the brunt of the attacks but the goblins still draw a bit of blood.

To the west the goblins pounce on a young man trying to run away. Two goblins each grab his feet tripping him allowing the third to scamper up his back and slit his throat.

To the south instead the goblins use their daggers to cut down a young girl, stabbing her repeatedly as she falls to the ground.

The crowd screams and panic ensues. The only seemingly safe place to flee to is towards the Northern gate and that is where the crowd begins to surge towards.

OOC: Initiative order is

2. PCs w/ 18
3. Goblins w/ 15
4. Civilians w/ 10

Round 2

Round 2
Talitha draws her giant sword and swings but the goblin ducks backwards, stumbling flat onto its back and her swing goes high. Faster than she can bring her sword back to bear, the goblin scrambles back to its feet and readies itself to strike back.

Faeli pushes her way through the crowd and unleashes her spell on the goblins. Her sparkles catch the goblins full in the face blinding and dazzling them.

Razyll draws his shield and sword and pushes his way through the crowd.

Tristen draws his sword, running down a goblin and piercing its chest with his sword.

Arialis rushes forward but her goblin sees what is coming and dives to the side avoiding being skewered.

Kaddock fires his arrow but with all the civilians running around his shot is spoiled.

Townsfolk begin fleeing all around trying toe escape the goblin's deadly attack. The musicians stop playing and flee to the north, the Sheriff draws his blade and steps in front of the mayor and other dignitaries and creates a safe bastion for commoners over by the front door of the cathedral as the cleric tries to unlock the front doors.

With only one road as a safe exit though the townsfolk quickly get bunched up into a tightly packed mob as too many people try to squeeze out along the road.

"Everyone, hold! Don't panic, stay calm!"

The sheriff is trying to maintain order and prevent people from being injured from being trampled by the panicked crowd.

Round 3

In the south the goblins are slowly shaking off the effects of the spell.

In the North the goblins all go into a scurry chasing after the crowds of civilians and hoping to escape the blades and clubs of seasoned warriors in favor of easier prey. They scatter among the crowd but there is quickly a cry as one of the goblins jumped on the back of a traveler and stabs her repeatedly in the back until she collapses.

To the West the goblins keep shifting around and both of them end up stabbing at Arialis. Teaming up against her they overwhelm her defenses and she ends up taking dozens of tiny stabs that start to really add up. A slash at her hamstring here, a stab into her abdomen there. If she was a lesser fighter it would be likely that overwhelming attack would be the end of her.

OOC: The two goblins end up dealing 13 piercing damage to Arilias as part of their team-up attack.

The two guards chase the goblins into the crowd and while they take a few swings with their clubs there is too much chaos fighting among the civilians and the goblins avoid taking any strikes.

[1.02] Party Crashers

Round 3
Razyll moves up and cuts down a goblin still stunned by Faeli's blinding blast.

Faeli flings a plate and knocks the goblin at O6 unconscious with a solid hit to the brainpan. She looks around for Koya but doesn't see her. Thinking back she didn't think that Koya had left her spot in the market further to the south and was likely busy with goblin raiders in another part of town.

Talitha crosses, chasing down a fleeing goblin and nearly cuts it in half.

In a blur of steel Arialis cuts down another goblin, flashing blades and burning anger turning the goblin into chunky salsa.

Tristen slices down another goblin, taking the time to retrieve his shield.

The last goblin, penned in by the guards, is shot down with an arrow through the chest by Kaddock.

For a brief second the din dies down as the goblins lie dead or dying (except for one blinded goblin wildly swinging its dog slicer around in the air. There is a pause as the crowd collects it collective breath and things seem to be turning in their favor. The priest unlocks the front door and the crowd starts pouring into the new cathedral and while there are sounds of fighting and fire coming from throughout Sandpoint the local area seems clear.

...then the chilling song starts again.

"Goblins race and goblins jump
Goblins slash and Goblins bump
Burn the skin and mash the head
Goblins here and you be dead!"

From the now abandoned food tents in the south comes a group of goblin commandos who had been crawling into position for an ambush. Now popping up to sing their song and brandish torches. Four goblins armed with dog slicers spill out, two heading for Faeli and Razyll while the other two are heading for the now screaming civilian crowds again.

Two more holding nothing but torches also appear and in the middle of their "formation" is one that seems to be leading the others in their song.

Round 4
The blinded goblin flails about wildly and while it ends up bumping right into Kaddock none of its wild swings come close at all to hitting him.

The newly arrived goblins can see and are much more keen on inflicting damage. One warrior each rushes up to engage Razyll and Faeli. The one facing Razyll slashes upwards with its dogslicer but Razyll deflects it with his shield.
OOC: Warrior O5: A1: Move A2: Attack - Miss A3: Attack - Miss.

The other goblin runs up onto the buffet table, kicking aside trays of freshly cooked meats and bread and it charges down and does a flying leap into the air at Faeli. It lands onto her shoulder using its dogslicer to dig a horrible gash into her shoulder and down her back as its weight slides it down opening a gaping wound.
Warrior M11: A1: Move A2: Attack - Crit! 8 damage A3: Attack - Miss

Meanwhile two more warriors dive into the crowd, cutting down townsfolk as they flee for cover inside the cathedral. They start stabbing with reckless abandon and two more festival goers are cut down like wheat in the field.

The goblin singer spills out over the food table onto the ground near Faeli and somehow manages to keep its wretched rhythm.

"Chase the baby, catch the pup
Bonk the head to shut it up
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed
We be goblins! You be food!"

To conclude it's stupid song it fires an arrow at Kaddock but buries it in the dirt at Kaddock's feet.

Warchanter K11: A1: Move A2: Goblin Song A3: Firing bow @ Kaddock - Miss
Razyll and Faeli are distracted by the goblin song and take -1 to Will saves for next round

Finally the two torch wielding goblins get into position. One of them reaches into the torch and pulls out a ball of flame. It cackles wildly and then throws it at Faeli before tossing it right in her face. It catches her hair on fire as it bursts onto her.
OOC: Pyro L12: A1: Move A2 & A3: Produce Flame - Crit! Faeli takes 3 fire damage and will take 2 more fire damage next round.

On the other side the other goblin torch bearer puts the torch up to his lips and blows out a jet of flame that engulfs several of the townsfolk still trying to crowd through the doors of the church. The sheriff is also engulfed but thanks to his armor and shield he is able to block most of the flames.

The guards both move back down to engage the new goblins but fail to connect with their clubs. The sheriff likewise steps forward to eliminate the goblin pyromancers but he swings wildly due to his eyes being seared from the flames.

Round 4
Arialis cuts down the blinded goblin.

Razyll cuts down a goblin next to him and his divine healing binds all of Faeli's wounds.

Faeli moves and lets loose another blast of colorful sparkles that catches the three goblins square in the face.

Tristen cuts across the battlefield before slashing one of the goblin pyromancers.

Talitha likewise cross the field of battle and cuts down a goblin.

Kaddock fires three arrows, and ends up killing the last goblin threatening the fleeing townsfolk.

The last of the civilians in the area cram themselves into the cathedral or flee away from the combat. From the Northwest where a large group of them had fled there is the sounds of screaming and more fighting, fairly close to where the adventurers are currently fighting.

Round 5
Most of the goblins are too busy clearing their vision to do anything. The one functional goblin pyromancer steps back and blows out another gout of flame encompassing Tristen and the guard. The guard is very badly burned but stays in the fight.
Goblin Pyro (L15) - A1: Step to L15 A2/A3: Burning Hands - 7 fire damage to Tristen

[1.02] Party Crashers

Round 6
Talitha moves to withstand the incoming goblin charge.

Tristen stabs at the blind goblin pyro in front of him and while he lands a solid hit the goblin is still a dangerous threat flailing wildly around with its burning torch.
OOC: FYI I did this a little wrong but I don't think it matters. If you are blinded it stacks a lot of conditions
- You cannot Step
- You stride at half speed
- You are flat-footed

Kaddock aims at the goblin commando but misses.

Razyll stabs and slices but the frantic goblin proves too difficult to hit.

Arialis finishes off the goblin singer and then rushes off to meet the incoming goblin war party.

Faeli dashes behind the stage.

The goblins charge forward, swarming over the line of guards and adventurers. The guards raise the shields, letting their wooden shields take the hits from the goblin dogslicers. Arialis ends up taking several hits as she ends up being flanked and swarmed by a pair of goblins that jump on her and stab her repeatedly.

Then the goblin pyros come over and oblivious to their own warriors they bath the guards and adventurers with fire! Two goblin warriors and a guard go down to the indiscriminate flames while further down the line another guard gets engulfed when a goblin torch bearer pulls a ball of flame from the end and tosses it right in the guards' face.

The goblin commando on his goblin dog charges forward and the pair of them bear down on the Sheriff and he collapses under their combined attack.

OOC: In the end -
Arialis: 14 damage
Talitha: 6 Make a DC 16 Dex save or take 12 damage (6 for half. Let me know if you want to react and take it on the shield).

2 guards are dead. 2 goblin warriors are dead. Sheriff Hemlock is disabled.

Meanwhile the blind goblin tries frantically to find Tristen, swinging its burning torch around wildly but it cannot find where anyone is anymore.

[1.02] Party Crashers

Round 7
Talitha brings up her shield to catch the flames.
OOC: The way it works:
1) When using energy damage against an object (that isn't vulnerable to that energy type first the damage is halved: 6 -> 3
2) Subtract hardness (3-5 = 0)
3) Any remaining damage is split between your shield and you.

FYI Shields are REALLY strong for front line fighters.
Fire vs. Wood is no good.
Acid vs. Metal is no good etc.

The shield blocks the gout of flame and while it licks over the tops and bottoms the momentary blast does little damage to her shield or herself. She moves up to defend the fallen elf and kills off one of the goblins almost as an afterthought.

Tristen runs up and uses his divine energy to heal up Arialis before raising his shield in defense.
OOC: Talitha killed that goblin and nothing else is in range so bringing the shield up.

Razyll hammers down on the blind goblin but the tough wiry creature just won't stay down, spitting up curses in between coughing up gobs of blood.

Faeli flings a bottle but it misses. She then withdraws back farther from combat.

Kaddock eyes up one of the goblin torch bearers and fires two arrows at it, clipping the monster with one of them.

Arialis gets back to her feet and double strikes the goblin riding the dog nearly killing the goblin rider outright...but not quite.

The goblin torch bearers surround the party and bathe the heroes with more gouts of flames from their torches.
OOC: Make 2 reflex saves vs. DC 16.
Burning Hands #1 is 7 (3 on a successful save)
Burning Hands #2 is 7 (3 on a successful save)

One of the goblins works his way around Arialis to attack Tristen,
Goblin Warrior (I15) - A1: Step A2: Strike - Miss A3: Strike - Hit - 1 damage

The goblin rider swings its large horsechopper at Talitha

Goblin Rider - A1: Strike - Hit - 7 slashing damage

The goblin rider then clicks his heels into the dog and it jumps forward before it suddenly rears back, scratching its hind quarters rapidly showering Tristen and Talitha with a cloud of dry dead skin flakes.

OOC: Tristen & Talitha must make a DC 17 Fortitude save or be Sickened 1 (-1 to all checks, can't swallow potions.) Can be cured by spending an action to retch triggering another Fort save opportunity.

Talitha covers herself from the attack of the goblin rider. She manages to protect herself from most of the damage, but some of it ends up landing in the shield and the arm that is holding it.
Unfortunately, that means that the two torches that come out of the hands of the other goblins hit her on in her torso and another in her back. She screams in pain.
"As I said, someone please take care of the %8£$#@ pyromaniacs!"
She turns towards the goblin rider and she hits him hard with her bastard sword.

Round 8
Talitha brings her shield up to protect herself from the flames but still ends up taking a fair amount of damage.
OOC: Shield blocks all of a burning hands no damage to it so 14 damage in total, 0 to shield

Talitha tries to cleave the goblin rider off the back of his dog but the dog jukes to the side and the sudden itching is enough of a distraction to throw off her aim. Preparing for a counterattack she raises her shield again.

Razyll misses the blind goblin but drops healing energy onto Talitha.

Arialis slashes at the goblin torch bearer but the wiry bastard just won't stay down. Even as it is choking on its own blood it spits out curses and at her and scrambles back to its feet.

Arialis is engulfed in flame but thankfully Tristen's divine protection shields her a little bit.
OOC: Stepping in on this. Arialis would normally have gone to 0 from the burning hands despite making both reflex saves but Tristen who is adjacent to her can use his Retributive Strike to prevent 3 damage and save her.

Faeli sends a projectile that finally knocks the blind pyro out of its misery.

Kaddock continues to fire into the melee but fails to peg a single goblin.

Tristen shakes off the effects of the dead skin and his shield likewise takes the brunt of a flaming spell, although his wooden shield isn't nearly as resistant to flames as one made of steel.

Tristen is badly burnt but is able to move past Arialis, kill the wounded torch bearer, and then move back to pin down the last pyro so they are not burnt alive from behind.

Next to Kaddock the nobleman, Foxglove, pulls a dagger off of one of the fallen goblins and throws it, hitting the goblin warrior behind Arialis and killing it.

The goblin torch bearer actually runs away from Tristen after watching him dispatch its companion and instead it nearly bumps into Kaddock and Aldric Foxglove. With another big breath it engulfs the pair in flames from its torch, spitting out yet another fireball.

OOC: Make a DC 16 reflex save. 8 fire damage (save for half)

The goblin commando is giggling for joy. Even though its warband has been decimated it thinks victory is at hand. It chops at Talitha with its horsechopper which Talitha takes on the shield.

The goblin then uses its hooked chopper to try and sweep Talitha off her feet but she jumps over the sweep. Finally it kicks its heels in and the goblin dog snaps at Talitha but she blocks it with her shield.

Goblin Rider - A1: Strike - Hit - 7 damage -> 2 damage to shield/Talitha A2: Trip - Fail A3: Command Animal -> Strike -> Miss

When he gets to Arialis he pauses, his hands lingering a little longer on hers than the others.

"I saw how you sacrificed yourself to save me...to save everyone. I have never seen something so brave before. You were like an elven angel in battle cutting down the enemy like wheat in a field. If only a bard had witnessed your deeds, I'm sure they could craft a sonnet to capture your prowess, and beauty of course."

He suddenly seemed aware that he was lingering and nervously smiled before moving on.

Father Zantus can you heal?" moving within range of the fallen man Razyll will ensure that he is stable shunting just enough positive energy into his form to shuts death's door (Stabilize Cantrip).

Razyll would like to attempt to help as many people as he can, using the tables from the festival as medical triage stations while helping Father Z.

Talitha looks up and realises the town main square has become a bloody battlefield.
"Fuck! Ok, tell me what to do, I'll follow."
Talitha tells Razyll, as he obviously know better what to do in this situation. She has some field experience in first aid healing, but clearly the better prepared here are the clerics.

She'll follow his instructions to better help everyone that has been wounded in the attack.

She looked towards Aldren Foxglove and smiled softly, she was still obviously wounded but not the type to show it. She would look at his hands lingering on hers, raising a delicate violet brow. "No thanks is needed sir. I only did what I would hope others would do if I found myself in your shoes." She said softly.

When he realized he was lingering, Arialis just offered him a smile. Then offered a nod when he moved on. Finally, when he done so she would collapse to her knees, using her longsword to balance herself and stay upright.

Father Zantus and his acolytes were the first out of the the cathedral. Skilled in healing but not the ways of battle they set to work treating the wounded. The sheriff and his men, including Vorn, were able to be saved but many townsfolk were not so lucky having been killed or bled out during the battle. In the end despite the early horror only five townsfolk lost their lives in this part of town.

She too has a few cuts and scratches and her boots have a considerable amount of goblin blood splashed over them.

<b><green>"I heard that you lot were responsible for defending the cathedral. Well done, heroes! I would wager we were attack by nearly fifty of the little buggers so looking at the pile here I'd figure you're responsible for about half the defense of town just here alone.

I'm not an official mayor or anything but while the mayor is busy getting the town back in order let me say on behalf of everyone here how thankful we are for your heroism. If any of you care to stay you are welcome to stay at my inn, on the house. All the food and booze you can stuff inside yourself is on me.

If it isn't too crass to suggest, I suspect that Sandpoint is going to need a lot of help in the coming days so to lay all the cards on the table I'm hoping to keep you as my guests of honor so that you're around just in case we need a few more acts of heroism in the coming days."

If you ever want to come visit you will of course be guests of honor for what you have done although right now I would ask you wait until my renovations have been completed. Razyll smiled. "Barely a scratch" the half-orc lied as he started to work on the wound which the elf presented. His hands were sure and surprisingly gentle as it cleaned the wound of the detritus left by the goblins ill maintained blades.

"I am just clearing away a present that your dancing partner left for you in her, this may hurt-just a bit." Razyll said as he finished cleaning the wound and applied cleansing ointments. He stitched the wound with trained precision as he looked over his next patient and planned his healing approach.

"See..." Razyll said as he turned his attention back to Arialis. "...that wasn't so bad."

OOC: Totally forgot that Razyll has Battle Medicine! He could've used non spell based healing.
Razyll rolled 24 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 16.  Treat Wounds (Arialis).
Success The target regains 2d8 Hit Points, and its wounded condition is removed.
In my Pathfinder group, the healing is kindda a gift so the person healed rolls the recovery dice. I am not sure it matters overly much who rolls but it seems more neat to me.  I assumed the DC to be 15 but the target number can be modified due to circumstances by the GM. If the Treat Wounds roll was a critical success Arialis would instead recover 4d8 Hit Points, and the wounded condition is removed.
