"I know -- you put 'em full of holes, right?"  Cora dropped Annica's bow and pull her pistol, taking aim as the pirate ran towards the boat.  She pulled the trigger, and a thunderous crack filled the air.

"Valdon!  Get the runner!" she yelled, trusting the bard to get the job done.  She felt the weight shift in the gun as the mechanism Don had added reloaded the weapon automatically.

Don rushed forward to join the melee. As he ran, small chains of arcane runes began to move behind the scales of his mail armor. Small wheels turned beneath the epaulets, like miniature wagon wheels with too-long spokes, drew the arcane rune-chains through the armor and filling it with the power he'd infused into the suit.

Annica saw the whole debacle with the deception plan and the runner going back to get reinforcement. "Oh no you don't, can't allow that, can we? Valdon can you stop him? " With an arcane word, a small ball of fire appeared in her hand and she looked at the runner "No, too far" Changing target, she lobbed the ball at the half orc, the swarm dissipating around her, reappearing, biting and clawing at the half orc, before teleporting back around her. Saying another word. she made her staff glow green and moved forward, weaving around her allies.

Fyn was often a man of few words, and he was often direct. In this case, he didn't head towards the gangplank to get to the enemy. He headed on to and then off of the bow of the ship down on to the enemies below there on the dock. His sword was in both hands and raised up to take advantage of the momentum to swing down on one of their foes!

And he landed...somewhat gracefully, actually. With a loud, hard thump to be sure, but he didn't falter, he landed on his feet. And the sword swung down as he did so.

Shaking herself back into reality, she realized she may have put Valdon in danger. She lets out one more whispered "fuck" before she moves to the corner of the pier and throws an eldritch blast at the pirate closest to Valdon.

Valdon breathed a quiet sigh of relief as the pirates were seemingly still fooled by his disguise. Looking around at the runner, he retrieved his flute from his inner pocket. After letting out a trilling snippet of melody, he cleared his throat, "Why did the man fall down the well? Because he couldn’t see that well!". Not waiting to see if the spell took hold, Valden also set off after the guy, drawing his rapier as he did so.

ROUND 1
LOCATION - Pirates Hideout (Docks)

Every moment seemed to blur into the next as most of the pirates began running for the ship. Echo seemed to hesitate, still in her 'red' disguise, she held her hand out summoning a bolt of purple tinged wind, as it flew and stuck the human, they staggered with a grunt, looking at the woman.

Don ran surprisingly fast with his armor on, overtaking Echo and came face-to-face with the human and half orc.

Wilfred stuck his head up from the ship, and quickly calculating the human as the greater threat to don being closest to him, sent a bolt of fire slamming into the humans shoulder. The half orc looked and snarled at the wizard for hurting his captain, promising death if he reached him.

Fyn's warrior instinct kicked in and with sword in hand, ran for the front of the ship and with a leap, jumped off landing behind the half orc. the drop down hurt his ankle a little but he stood with a smile as he slashed the orcish warrior. Even though the hit was solid, the half orc kepts standing, his eyes red with rage

Annica likewise followed suit, though her fire was less a bolt and more a summoned ball, she lobbed it and the half orc who watched as the fire hit him in the chest. The half orc cursed but kept his eyes on fyn.


Valdon could not see the one who escaped, having ducked around a corner, so he aimed his spell at the human, telling a joke. The human frowned and looked at him. "Stop tellin' jokes and help us here!" She muttered

Cora decided that subtlety was overrated and dropped the bow, taking out her firearm she took aim and fired. The shot was devastating, hitting the human in the head shortly after she spoke to Valdon. Her head all but exploded with the impact, the body falling to the ground

Oblivious to his human counterpart, the half orc was fixated on Fyn and came in with his fists, punching him twice. The blows were like thunder, taking the wind from Fyn with a groan. <Fyn takes two hits totaling 14 bludgeoning damage>

Don wielded thunderous bursts from his electrified armor, attempting to disrupt the orc's offense against Fyn or any of the others. He was still relatively new to the armor, but each encounter building his proficiency further.

"Valdon!  You're the ace in the hole!  Get the runner!"  Cora took aim at the half-orc, trying to judge the right moment to fire, so she wouldn't hit Fyn.

She hoped the changeling understood the tactical value he offered here.  He was the only one who was free to chase after the runner.  Even if he didn't catch him in time for him to rouse the entire camp, his mimicking abilities could let him get bahind the enemy, where he could have a great impact disrupting their efforts to mount an organised response.  There simply wasn't time to discuss it here and now, though.

The pistol went off with a thunderous *crack*, the bullet lodging in the half-orc easily.

Fyn let out a pained grunt at the half-orc's blows, looking like he was actually pretty hurt at that point.

"You're already dead and just don't know it. The Matron take you."

He lashed out in return, his longsword in both hands swinging for the fences as hard as he could. And for good measure, he called upon the Matron for a bit more, unleashing her wrath.

Action: Attack Half-Orc with longsword (two-handed) and divine smite, Hit AC 24 for 10 slashing and 7 radiant.
Reaction: Hellish Rebuke if struck by someone in range.

The death of his comrade seemed to do little to intimidate the half orc, and even though he was outnumbered, it was clear he was either too stubborn or too stupid to admit defeat - not that you'd let him.

Don saw the hit against Fyn, and came in over the crouching warrior with a swing of his fist. The half orc smiled as he stepped back making the artificer grimace at him. "That th' best ye god. Bring it!" he muttered.

Wilfred again stood and sent a bolt of fire towards teh orc, causing him to flinch, but leaving just a small burn.

Fyn, crouching looked up and with a mighty thrust, sliced a line on teh orcish warriors abdomen. While the hardened orc seemed to shrug off some of teh physical damage, the purple edge of the blade left a burn making him step back and scowl at him. "Ye got tricks, ye bastard." he said, clenching his fists.

Annica closed in on the orcish warrior and swung her weapon, narrowly missing him, but his attention was solely on Fyn and his sword.


Valdon took off and disappeared into the cave.

Cora had enough of this half orc, and took aim with her weapon. With a steady hand and keen eye, she pulled the trigger, and hit him at the base of his skull, the bullet's impact enough to blow his head clean off his shoulders and having blood spatter the rest of teh group (minus Cora and Wilfred)

Wilfred searched for any more pirates, or other movement outside his friends.

"Let's move everyone!" Cora said, setting actions to words.  "In seconds this place will be busier than a kicked hornet's nest.  Valdon's going to need our help!"  Or we're going to need his... she thought to herself.  With his uncanny ability to disguise himself, Valdon could be a huge asset behind enemy lines, but he was only one man.

Fast as she could, Cora raced down the gangplank and along the dock, heading towards the stairs where they had seen the half-elf disappear.

Don left the looting to Wilfred, and proceeded further in. If Wapi was still shifted into the form of a spider, it was unlikely that he would be able to spot the halfling, but he needed eyes on what it was that they were facing next.

As Valdon rounded the corner he readied the rapier for what he thought might be a somewhat serious fight, only to stop dead in his tracks at the sight of Wapi and the cougar. He blinked a few times, his form reforming into his usual gnomish figure, "Well there's something you don't see everyday...". Turning back into the cave, he could see the others were hurrying along towards him. Raising a hand to first wave at them he motioned for them to slow down. "Seems our halfling friend here is taking care of the runner", he looked back to Wapi, "Very well done, my friend".

Fyn took a moment, clearly in pain. He called upon his Goddess once more. His hand glowed as he placed it on his chest, and some of his wounded seemed to heal over. Not a lot, but it was better than nothing.

He grimaced and then began heading after the group.

12:35, Today: Fyntrallus Torryn rolled 6 using 1d8+3.  Cure Wounds on self.

Wapi was about to order his summoned jaguar to attack the stranger when it spoke to him so familiarly.  He quickly realised it was Valdon and held fire.  He rushed out towards the main area.  The halfling was clearly not happy.

"You fools make much noise.  Not wait me.  Ship crew coming.  Many men.  Dozen, more.  Soon here.  Prepare quick."  The halfling began muttering angrily to himself.  [Language unknown: "Theourugh ica ulol oreur ave eveanttio k tong hou.  Redentsta ncel an m riulis.  Ispo p pawe i ess o anysherom latwerati san.  Urece u mowe."]

The halfing ordered his jaguar to hide behind the door, ready to leap.  Wapi moved to stand near him.  He waited to see where the group planned to make their stand before finalising he preparations.


OOC: Wapi has some preparations to make but will wait to see where the party would prepare to fight.  He's assuming they might use the door as a choke point so he waits to the side of the door.  He keeps cursing quietly to himself, clearly unhappy.

"A dozen?", Valdon looked over Wapi's shoulder, "Ok then". Quickly turning around, the bard started back to the boat with all haste, raising his voice to get the others attention, "Maybe we should reconsider our plan?".

"Maybe we should set up some traps?"
