The last thing Clay recalled was wailing on the guard before the other pistol whipped him...and then he blacked out...

Clay stirred awake in the middle of the forest, not sure how he got there or what happened to...
He checked his side to see Meru-La...dead. Her body lifeless as the two of them had been dumped carelessly out of the way. Clay tried to reach for her, but he felt weak and bruised. So all he could do was sob to himself. This was supposed to just be a nice day. And now she was dead...and he could feel that the Capsule Corp security had stolen her gift.
It was as he sobbed and glanced up at the night sky that things then changed...he had always been warned not to look at the night sky. Specifically, never to look at a full moon. He never knew why he shouldn't have. But as he saw the full moon overhead, his sorrow suddenly washed away. And all he could feel was...seething animalistic rage!
Clay's body shook and expanded as fur began to grow all over. His face deformed as he snarled and growled, and his limbs altered to be longer with sharpened pawed claws. He grew to be about fifty feet tall as he stood onto his now pawed feet, resembling a wolf-man more than a person. He roared loudly and started stomping his way through the forest towards the village, his now simplistic animal brain wanting to hurt whoever he thought killed Meru-La...
