“Here,” Yamcha said as he sat cross legged and invited Puar and Clay to do the same. “Start small.” He held out his hands in a cupping shape. “Channel the energy into a small ball. Think like you’re pulling from the air around you.”

Clay sat and did as Yamcha said, closing his eyes and focusing. He has never had to think like that before. But he had to try. He tried thinking of positive feelings. Something that would trigger a reaction.

"Like an ummmm... Date?" Merula asked looking up at him in his memories.

Clay heard Meru-La in his mind, remembering him asking her to his birthday date. A bit of light flickered in his hands.

“Whatever you’re doing, focus on that,” Yamcha said watching.

"The carnival" the memory said and wrapped arms around his and guided him towards the park with a smile

Clay felt something build in his hands, warmth radiating off his fingertips. He opened his eyes and saw bright energy forming as a small ball. “Hey!” He said excitedly. “I did a—“

A thin ki blast shot and struck the ground nearby them. Ms. Kalco lowered her claw, admittedly impressed at what she did but keeping focus. “Maybe you’ll catch up,” she said as she walked over to think of how to channel the energy into a unique attack.

Clay’s ki disappeared from the distraction. As the cat woman walked away, Clay felt an energy bubble in him. But it was not the same one he felt earlier. It felt…darker. And tougher. Without thinking, he got up and shot out a hand, firing a black energy beam at the woman.

Ms. Kalco turned in time to see the blast. Her eyes widened and she ducked as it blasted a hole in the wall behind her. She bore her fangs and prepped herself to fight.

“Whoa whoa whoa!” Yamcha said jumping inbetween the two to stop them. “This is just training. I suggest you both chill out now!”

"Fascinating. You're attacking using both Positivity and Malice. That could be useful depending on the opponent " he remarked.

Ms. Kalco and Clay stared each other down before she lowered her guard. “I’m going to win that dragon ball,” she said. “Ingrain that into your brain.” She turned and walked away again to develop her technique.

Clay’s fist unclenched as he exhaled deeply. He then turned to masted Wilford. “…is that unusual?” He asked.

"Everything about you is unusual to me. But I'm not so usual myself." He remarked.

Yamcha wasn’t sure what that meant either, but it was something to look into. “Well,” he said walking up to Clay. “Maybe we can try nurturing the joy instead of malice. Come on,” he said leading Clay somewhere to practice. That Kalco lady wasn’t some usual opponent or rival. They’d need to watch out. She could pull some shady tricks if he knew anything about prior tournament rivals…

——LATER THAT EVENING——

Ms. Kalco entered the building to grab dinner, walking past most of the group as they are. She opened the pots to reveal rice and pork, starting to serve herself.

Puar joined her her red hair tied back into a ponytail as she popped her neck some. "So why do you want the Dragonballs?" She asked.

Ms. Kalco noticed the new look for the shapeshifter but continued to serve food. “Dr. Gadget feels they’re a threat to the stability of the world,” she said. “Imagine if someone used it to wipe out a continent or summon a demon or other reasons to threaten lives. It’s easier to remove the temptation than risk worse things.”

"Fair but yours have some regulation at least, with one being held by your guardian of earth I lmean." She shrugged.

"...for now," Ms. Kalco said scooping out food for herself. "Dr. Gadget is the kind of man to get things done when he puts his mind to it." She looked to the girl. "Your universe. Are there people like me there?"

"Our God of destruction is like you but of the shaved variety we've got a ton of species.... Have you never met another like you?' she asked.

“Very few,” Ms. Kalco admitted. “We are a small race. My family were the only ones in our village and we were one of the poorer families. The fact I even got to where I have is a miracle.” She grabbed her plate. “…you’ve seen how these dragon balls work in your universe. So why are you not as worried as we are about them?”

"Because we always fix the messes that get made. Like how my ex wished for panties to stop the bad guys for wishing for power. And most villains don't even really care about important stuff like immortality. They want to get taller or melt the ice around a secret base mundane stuff. And the Dragonballs are rarely active because our friends keep using them to wish people back to life and undo destruction of the bad guys." She explained then tilted her head. "I guess "keep using the magical reality changing orbs so nobody else can isn't the most efficient solution."
