I know what you mean. I am so sick of GMing.

I wouldn't say I'm sick of it, but I'm at capacity for running any more group games and all the refereeing that goes into it ;P At this point I occasionally make solo games if it seems like I have overlapping interests with someone I bump into, and that's about it. I was hoping to be a player in a game like this for a change as well.

Being a Forever GM is so taxing at times. It's so important for us to have games as players as well. It helps maintain our mojo.

Re: OOC Thread

I AM a player in a Spelljammer g a me that's about to start, so I've got that as an outlet.

Oh screw it, I'll start my own damn MnM game lol.  I do have some fun villain concepts I want to explore

I know you guys don't know my gaming style at all, but if you want to join up, that's great with me.  I've read through enough of your threads to know that you all are good at writing in a PbP game.

I'll take the weekend and try to get things set up, and then I'll let you folks know where the link is

I'm not a fan either.  I prefer the more social aspects of group-based gaming

In reply to Unknown (msg # 446):

I wouldn't say it's unusual, no :) I can understand wanting to be more social, having a party format, having more of a potential for surprises from people interacting in unexpected ways, etc. Like I said, I only do it with people I already know and like, it's really important to be on the same wavelength. I enjoy setting up a game that specifically revolves around one person and what interests them (or having it done for me if I'm not the GM), I think it can make for a really engaging experience.

I am kind of surprised you don't think you're good at them though, do you mind if I ask why that is?

(edit) Oh cool, thanks Lady Frankenstein, I'd definitely give it a look :)

Re: OOC Thread

I used to play a ton of superhero games but then they all started dying out. I only recently started playing again and this game died. The other game is post...apocalypse, I guess, which is weird, but one of the other players really wanted me to join so I did. I joined the TotallyNotSuicideSquad game as well, see if it ends up being fun (I hope).

3rd Ed M&M isn't the one I'm most familiar with, but I played tons of 2E, and it's not...THAT much different I guess.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with some of you in other games. =)

Re: OOC Thread

So I am setting my game in Emerald City, as that's the MnM setting I am most familiar with.

Question - I noticed that the GM of this game has a lot of really useful write ups on the different Emerald City locations, etc.  Is it bad form to basically just copy/paste that stuff for my own game?  It would save me so much time.  But, on the other hand, I don't want to plagarize, etc

Re: OOC Thread

This is not the same Emerald City in the books. The GM made their own city and called it Emerald City (forgetting there is already an official Emerald City in the setting books).

Re: OOC Thread

Technically the GM flagged this game as personal intellectual property.  So you can take the basic ideas from anything, but don't just copy/paste it without some degree of personalization to your own setting.

Re: OOC Thread

Sounds cool - I'll probably hold off on posting my Emerald City game to the Players Wanted forum for now, just to give all you folks priority for joining (it always is a drag when a game dies out).  I really hope the GM returns, but it doesn't seem to look very good, right?

I would probably want either make a new character, OR you use your character from this game, but all the stuff that happened here is "reset", and you start anew.  Like it's a Multiverse version of your character from this game ;)

The Cobra:
I am kind of surprised you don't think you're good at them though, do you mind if I ask why that is?

I'm ADHD as all hell and if the GM and I are the only people that I will disappoint by not posting then I don't feel bad about blowing things off to play Factorio for the nine thousandth time. PbP is a slow format so it takes longer to get to the point where I'm legitimately excited about what's happening than it does for me to lose interest and ADHD out. At least when there's other players I feel responsible to carry my own weight.

Beast Girl:
This is not the same Emerald City in the books. The GM made their own city and called it Emerald City (forgetting there is already an official Emerald City in the setting books).

Emerald City is also a place in the Wizard of Oz. There's even a yellow brick road!

Count me in! I'll probably use a totally different character; I have quite a vast roster who all want their turn in the spotlight.

Technically, this is the third iteration of The Penitent to ride a declining game into the sunset. If I see a chance to do so, there will be a fourth.

Re: OOC Thread

I try not to regurgitate characters too much, but I find it a bit difficult to put a 3E character together sometimes. And it's not like I don't have a ton of concepts floating around in my head, lol. We'll see.

I do love me some M&M, I would love to join a new game since this one has turned into a sinking ship.  I have all kinds of ideas and would love to give another character the spotlight.  :)

Re: OOC Thread

I would like to stick with the same core concept of the character, but depending on the setting and style of the game can significantly adapt the powers used to represent it.
