Wiki Preview Issue

When you preview a post while editing the wiki it clears the editable text field.

This means if I don't like what I see in the preview I have to copy paste the previewed text, reformat it (add all my bolds and headings back in), then make my changes.

I know there are some workarounds and safety precautions I can take but I think this is a thing that should just work.

Indeed it does, probably has for a while but nobody's ever reported it!  Should be better now.

Yup, fixed, thanks.

Wiki system seems pretty underutilized I've been on this site for 3 years, I think, and have never seen a game use it.

Wiki Preview Issue

In reply to Nazid (msg # 4):

I have known the wiki system was there for a while, but a lot of the material I write isn't game specific and gets used in a number of games.

For example, I am writing a lot of material for the Pathfinder game I run at the moment.   It leads to tweaking  the house rules I use in all games (everything needs to evolve :) and writing new material that will be useful to me when I run other games later.  Rather than use a specific RPoL game wiki, I use a wikidot wiki.  Before that, I used a dedicated website.

I still finish up referring to the website occasionally.  A third information source would just make it more complicated  :)

Wiki Preview Issue

I realize there is one, too.  I have just never had any need, or any desire, to utilize it.

Wiki Preview Issue

A lot of GMs (and players) have been on RPOL since before there was a game wiki.  They got along fine without it then, never saw any need to use one when it was made available.

And, for a lot of us, worrying about maintaining a wiki is flirting with that line where it stops being fun and starts being a chore.

Thankfully for those who don't want to use it, it can safely be ignored!  (c;  Those who do can use it as much, or as little, as they like.

It doesn't even have to be about a game on RPoL, just RolePlay.

So if I have a gaming discord, I could link to a wiki about each game I've written a PDF for, and link on those pages back to their places on my discord server?

OH, that's a pretty generous statement. I take it maintaining a wiki infrastructure is pretty set-it-and-forget-it?

Re: Wiki Preview Issue

For the record, I use the heck out of the wiki function. I don't like my games cluttered with setting info, house rules, and the like, so I toss it up on the game wiki and just link to the relevant pages when need-be.

Re: Wiki Preview Issue

Wait a dice roller? I just add a random guy to each game to pick numbers randomly for each player!
