Leanna Perkins

Name: Leanna Perkins
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Occupation: Junior Detective

Theme: Cravin' by Stileto

Physical Description and Personality:
Appearance:
Around 5'3'', lithe, and nimble, Leanna does not possess the most intimidating physique for someone in law enforcement. She's quick on her feet and has a runner's build, subtly toned muscles under smooth, lightly tanned skin. Before her change, she had a few minor scars here and there, as well as a larger one from a stab wound on her back. When it isn't tied up and out of the way, soft, caramel-brown hair falls to her shoulder blades in large, luscious waves and frames her finely-featured face. High-cheek bones, a small button nose, full lips, and perfectly shaped eyebrows had her drawing attention even before her features were enhanced, her gray eyes are the only part that doesn't immediately stand out.

Personality:
Leanna is easy-going and prefers to keep things fun and exciting. She doesn't deal well with long periods of silence in the presence of others and can be a bit of a people pleaser. That's not to say she's a complete pushover, however, as she's got quite the stubborn streak. While generally clever, she's a horrible liar and a bit dense when it comes to social cues directed at her, or at least she used to be. She makes up for any mishaps that come of it with fierce loyalty and sincerity, always owning up to her mistakes. Her strengths as a detective come from her detail-oriented mind and disarming personality rather than any great skill at reading people. She reads crime scenes extremely well and plays a very good but sometimes distracting "good cop."

A bit gullible when her guard is lowered, the rest of her unit often joked that she's the type to fall for scams and reminded her to not take candy from strangers, and honestly, the only reasons she didn't get caught up in something shady much earlier in her life are quite clear. One, having grown up in a cop family and listening to the stories told at the dinner table, two, her overprotective brothers, and three, the experiences and insights into the dark side of society she eventually got from working on the force herself. She's aware that she's good-looking enough to attract attention, but not the full extent of it and often underestimates her own charms.

Background:
Leanna grew up in a long family line of cops. She decided at a young age that she would follow in her father's footsteps and become a detective along with her three older brothers. A bit of a late lamb, her brothers were already in their early teens when she was born, and all three grew up to be very protective of her. Struggling to follow her dreams while being treated as the family's princess, it took a lot of convincing to allow her to take a degree in Criminal Justice and start as a beat cop after her graduation.

While she was feeling very triumphant about getting her degree with honors and getting her way at the beginning, her time as a patrol cop was not kind to her confidence. It took several years for her to earn her promotion to detective, and her struggles to keep up with her peers in this time drove home what her family had always been saying about her strengths being her brains and not her brawns. Several times, suspects or aggressive civilians almost got the jump on her, and she had to spend much longer at the firing range to get a feel for the gun at her disposal than others. Finally, it turned out she also lacked the critical skill of reading others, especially those with ill motives. Her sheltered upbringing made it hard for her to truly relate to and understand the motivations people have for doing bad, and missing the more nuanced 'why' in a case got her in trouble more than once.

It wasn't all bad, as she proved to have a keen eye for crime scenes, evidence, and case-building, and her beyond-reproach handling of cases spoke to her untapped potential, but Leanna struggled to see these qualities herself. Her insecurities haunted her into her new position, but just as she was considering calling it quits, her father was killed on duty. Despite her mother and brothers trying to convince her that her father was proud of her and would be no matter if she was on the force or not, guilt and grief spurred her to continue chasing his shadow. Recently, Leanna has gotten more and more reckless in her attempts to prove herself worthy of being called Captain Perkins' daughter.

Goals/Activities:
・Adapting to her new reality.
・Hiding her change well enough to continue working as a detective.
・Using her newfound powers to do better at her job
・Finding the being responsible for turning her, though she's unsure if she wants revenge or guidance.
