Alexis Thomasina Arkel appears to be in her early to mid-twenties, standing just over five and a half feet tall, with wavy dark red hair that would fall to her shoulders, except she keeps it pulled back in a simple braid, away from any lab equipment and out of her eyes. Those eyes are a deep, piercing blue, and her face defaults to a thoughtful, calculating expression that occasionally gives way to a distracted look, like she's suddenly hopped on an entirely new train of thought and is just too polite to tell you that she's barely paying attention anymore. She prefers to dress casually when possible, and even in the lab usually just throws on a lab coat over whatever dirty jeans and band t-shirt of dubious origin that she's wearing.

Her battlesuit, codenamed the War Angel by the United States Defense Department, resembles a rust-colored, form-fitting variant of a modern spacesuit, without all the bulk. It consists of several relatively thin layers of unidentified futuristic alloys and fabrics, with plates of more rigid armor material worn over vital areas. Several weapons systems- mostly various energy beams and high-energy particle weapons- are apparently integrated into the suit, though no one can quite say how. The headpiece appears to be made of a swarm of nanoscale robots, forming around the wearer's head and retracting into the suit as needed.
