Lately I've been having to edit a large number of posts (two to three per day) because the people making those posts are either linking to illegal distributions of copyrighted game books, or are offering to email others illegal distributions of copyright materials.
Everyone please remember:
You may not post links to "free" versions of copyrighted materials on RPoL which are not being distributed by the copyright holder, or someone who does not have specific permission from the copyright holder to distribute that material. Also, you may not use RPoL to offer to share, via email or otherwise, copies of materials you do not have the legal right to distirbute (such as PDF conversions of game books).
It does not matter if it is legal where you live -- it is not legal where RPoL is hosted, and we do not permit it. Though a resource may be effectively out of print, the copyright on it is still legally binding.
Note: This is not an invitation to discuss copyright law, the laws on sharing materials where you personally live here in this thread. This is a warning to cease violating this policy on RPoL.

OK, so the news is old and I never update it. RPoL holds up fairly well under a massive influx of roleplay refugees. Rather a lot of functions are added in rapid succession to appease the masses.

The CI Host server that RPoL is hosted on is currently running out of physical disk space. They will apparently be adding more disks soon, in the meantime intermittent "out of space" errors may occur.

It has turned out that CommuniTech has pulled the plug on PlayByWeb without informing them beforehand! If you wish to complain to CommuniTech about their unfair behaviour go to http://www.communitech.com/contact. Jim can be consoled at jim@playbyweb.com. I don't think I'll ever recommend someone to CommuniTech!
