It is the freakin' OLYMPICS, and if your TV listing says you're showing the Opening Ceremony Live, then you should be showing the actual ceremony. Not your talking heads talking about politics while I can plainly hear music and see that there are lights and activity coming from the stadium in the background behind them, that you aren't showing - and clearly aren't intending to show, since you keep talking about the parade of athletes coming up (and that's nowhere near the first part of the ceremony, ever). Shut up already, and show the fruiting ceremony.
Or at least have the decency to not dupe the viewers into thinking you are by listing 'Beijing 2022 Opening Ceremony' on your listing. What you're doing is tantamount to listing 'Superbowl LVI' on the guide, and then showing nothing but the halftime show. Grr...and of course, they seem to have all the viewing rights in the US, so I can't find the actual ceremony being broadcast by anyone else, either.
I got up early for this, for nothing.

Why, WHY, is it there are players that give you a brilliant RTJ character, you happily accept them, they post a few times back and forth with characters then !!POOF!! They ghost the game! Players use their characters to speak to them, no replies, BUT!!! They look in as you see it in the cast list!!! You the PM them a couple of times, after two months of ghosting and they look in and STILL say nothing. Oh well, as a GM YOU tried but bye bye to that flaky ghost player!!!!!

I now have a rule, if players do not post for two weeks without some kind of advance notice they are removed from the game. If it was a legitimate reason they can always come back but just not posting without any explanation is rude, not just to the GM but the entire playing group. Who wants players like that in their game?

What did surprise me is getting it in my elbow, for no apparent reason (at least, with my knee, I had suddenly shifted gears at work and was lifting heavy loads, pushing stuff around on stage, running up and down stairs a lot more than usual...the elbow? Just, one day, "Oh, hey...we don't like it when you grip stuff and extend your arm...")
Between elbow wraps, roll-on lidocaine, and ibuprofen, I'm still functional, but when you spend a day sweeping and moving stage lights, the point of diminishing returns creeps up on you pretty fast...

Just had doctor's apt before I lost temporary housing. So thankfully I have medicine. I almost froze last night in the car, it was 36 degrees, and raining. I had only one blanket, and couldn't afford to use gas to stay warm. I was ready to go to the ER, but thankfully I didn't have to. I have tried asking for help from family, and that's been degrading, and ultimately gave only "You can buy a grayhound ticket to ..." where my mother lives, and stay in a shelter there. Thing is...that shelter, not here but there...they also have a waiting list. I called them. So I'm disgusted, and angry after she proceeded to be emotionally abusive and dangle this nebulous help (ME buying a grayhound ticket; leaving my car...and going to shelter there...that is full, and will be for the next month.) I haven't tried my father, but he can't be worse, or at least he will be quicker. Sister, understandably, has her own family. I asked, but she said no; and I understand that. Older brother already lives with my father. It sucks being the black sheep.

Some folks on RPOL were talking about Cortex Prime. It sounded interesting. So I picked up the PDF. I discovered that all the dice roll examples are symbols, and images at that. This is the text searchable PDF. So, when trying to understand the mechanics, its like having part of a conversation in one language, and every so often the speaker switches language on you.
Seriously.
I've never encountered a PDF, with this problem with it.
Text sometimes getting faded into an image, because its ontop of a complicated image, sure. It happens. Annoying, you bet, but stuff happens. This, this though, normal text, symbol, normal text. Example, image, text, image.
Cue Arnold's scream from the first predator movie.

But goddamn, I am sick of otherwise good games becoming "planning sessions" that stall the game entirely. I think I'm in three of them right now. Someone thinks they're Sun Tzu and so we have to stop what we're doing to argue about tactical decisions that, ultimately, won't make a bit of difference once we get rolling because we're fighting a bunch of goblins, not forming a cordon sanitaire.
I would rather lose a game than win a meeting.

My blu-ray player started making grinding noises, which is the first sign of the machine starting to fail. And it's one more thing that I just can't afford to replace. I do have adhd, and sometimes I get neurotic and over complicated, its true... and anyone who tells you they dont want to get the most out of something or who says they dont want the best are just full of shit.
however, just because i get a little convoluted or just because I mess up my math sometimes doesnt mean im a cheater or that im trying to get one over the gm. Just because I use the mechanics available to me doesnt mean im making shit up.
To hell with your opinion of me, and me saying that doesnt make me a bad player.
I'm in games, I get along with people just fine when they dont knee jerk on me.
I'm here to have fun, yes I want to get along... yes I want to play with others, if I wanted to play by myself I could go plenty of other places but I am also here to have fun and not be bullied or sucked into some hedonistic crap.

As a SEND parent I have to live with this crap every day, as if I'm going to go "you know, I never thought about it." I think about my kids' SEND every minute of every day. I wake up during the night thinking about it. I think about it on the school run, when I should be working, when I'm watching TV. ALL ... THE... TIME. As a SEND parent pretty much every decision is based on what is right for your kids, from little decisions like where to go out for dinner (or shall we stay home cos it's easier) to medium decisions like where to go on holiday (or shall we stay at home cos it's easier) to big decisions like where should we live or should I accept that job offer.
So back to Facebook... if someone posts for advice there are two options: 1) give honest, helpful advice that answers their query, 2) keep on scrolling baby!
