I do not have time to type up that list.  It would be hundreds of titles, spanning almost a century of movies.  And it's getting longer all the time.

What Movie Have You Watched More Than Three Times?

Come on, folks, no western fans?

Magnificent 7
Silverado
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Hell, all the Man with No Name series
McClintok
Cat Ballou
Rustler's Rhapsody
Rio Lobo
Rio Bravo

And that's just the westerns, and  far from all of them.

Ah, hell. Now I want to watch a few of them again.

Do you do anything other than watch movies?

To answer the OP, movies I have sat down and deliberately watched:

More than 100 times, in the theatre:  Rocky Horror Picture Show
(Yes, in the audience.  I've also seen the stage show 4 times.)

More than 30 times (16 in the theatre):  Star Wars A New Hope
More than 20 times (10 in the theatre):  Star Wars Empire Strikes Back
More than 5 times (3 in the theatre):  Star Wars Return of the Jedi

More than 100 times on tv:  Excalibur
More than 50 times on tv:  Paper Moon
More than 30 times on tv:  The Crow
More than 20 times on tv:  Shawshank Redemption

Movies I've seen at least 3 times, but likely more than that, at least once in the theatre:
5th Element
Hudson Hawk
Ladyhawk
The Princess Bride
Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Destroyer
The Lost Boys
All the Marvel Marvel superhero movies except Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers Infinity War and End Game (which were once each).
The entire Alien/s franchise (but not the Predator crossover movies)
Predator 1 and 2

Movies I've seen more than three times but never in the theatres:
The entire Mad Max franchise
A Knight's Tale
Dune
All the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti westerns
The Black Hole

All those expected (certain holiday themed movies, Star Wars saga, etc) and a few oddballs that move me in some sort of deep, personal way:

This is Spinal Tap
The Song Remains The Same
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Abominable Dr. Phibes
Twelve Angry Men

Re: What Movie Have You Watched More Than Three Times?

In reply to evileeyore (msg # 17):

I'm a chronic multi-tasker.  I have movies on when I'm working, if I've seen them often enough then I don't even need to see the screen to follow the story really well.  And I also tend to dissect and analyze bits of movies...theater training kicks in and I start looking at the writing, the costumes, the fight choreography, the direction, the lighting and cinematography...

Plus, I'm over 50.  I was old enough to catch the leading edge of watching movies repeatedly when they were on VHS, so a lot of the movies on my list are things I saw back in my teens and twenties.  A few of them are movies I watched to write papers about in art/theater/English classes in college.  Some of them are movies I saw with one group of friends, then with another group of friends, and then again when they came to the discount movie theater where I work and could see them for free.  Some of them are just movies that I see for free at work.

I've had a lot of time to build my list...*laugh*

I'd forgotten about 12 Angry Men, one of the greatest minimalist mystery and character- changing/revelation dramas of all time. Maybe the greatest.

Re: What Movie Have You Watched More Than Three Times?

Ah, I completely forgot about the Mummy! The good one, with Brendan Fraser, not the Tom Cruise one. How could I?! *hangs head in shame*

In all seriousness, this has been an entertaining exercise that reminded my spouse and I how many movies we love that we haven't actually -watched- in a long time. It's given us a list of potential date nights for some time to come, which is quite nice to have. There's a whole lot of great movies out there, and with the ability to just throw on most of them at whim (thank you, digital library) it's pretty easy to rack up a whole lot of views. (I won't be lame enough to go edit my list with the dozen or so movies I've remembered since writing it that belong on there, or anything, like Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump, etc...)

...if only I could find a good way to work through the box of VHS tapes moldering in the closet.

Re: What Movie Have You Watched More Than Three Times?

ooo my the list would be over 1k

I am a movie freak, I have a garage of DVDs and my current digital account is close to 600.
I happen to own all these movies because I have no cable or wifi at home. So the only form of TV is DVDs/BluRays

So I have like 300 Anime about 200 TV Shows dating back too I love Lucy, B5 and more recent Titans, Doom etc etc. Boardwalk Empire, GoT etc. etc.

and yes I have watch them all three times or more, ...

top 5 shows

Games of Thrones
Spartacus
Rome (HBO)
Dune (TV show)
Babyon 5

Top move I have watch at least one a year since its release

EXCALIBUR
Release date: April 10, 1981 (USA)
Director: John Boorman

DragonSlayer
Release date: June 26, 1981 (USA)
Director: Matthew Robbins

1981 was a very good year for me and my start in the role-playing realm.

In reply to Lord Caladin (msg # 24):

I LOVED Dragonslayer.  It's one of the films Disney would rather people forget, along with The Blackhole, The Watcher in the Woods (the only one of these I haven't seen), and The Black Cauldron.  Hard to find on DVD or Blu-Ray.  However, Dragonslayer and The Black Hole can be found on Amazon Prime.

If you are talking about what movies have you watched excessively:

13th Warrior, Johnny Mnemonic, Starship Troopers, Tombstone.... But I have watched most of the movies I own more than 3 times (Heck I've watched the Expanse series from the beginning every time a new season comes out, lol).

Re: What Movie Have You Watched More Than Three Times?

Well, this will be just a sampler.  I'm old enough to have seen several thousands of movies, many more than three times.

Star Wars:  A New Hope (the original 1977 release)
Yojimbo (Kurosawa Akira directing Mifune Toshiro in one of his more unforgettable roles)
Every Godzilla movie between 1952 and the present except that awful one by Dean Devlin/Roland Emmerich(yeah, I've got a thing for Kaiju movies)
Steamboy
Howl's Moving Castle
Kiki's Delivery Service
Song of the South
Once Upon a Time in the West
A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Most of the Dirty Harry movies
Many John Wayne movies
Cleopatra 1963 (Elizabeth Taylor)
Cleopatra 1934 (Claudette Colbert)
The Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (original with Michael Rennie)
This Island Earth
Forbidden Planet
When Worlds Collide
The War of the Worlds (George Pal)
Conspiracy (the HBO movie about the Wansee Conference)
Kung Fu Hustle
Batman (the Tim Burton original)
All of the Brother Cadfael Mysteries produced for PBS's Mystery program

I'll stop there. So many movies, so little time...
