Favorite Game Show, If Any

Jeopardy, though they seem to have shortened the actual game be a few seconds because players seldom clear the boards now.

You know, I had wondered if they had done that myself, or if it was just a spate of bad players. Like, all the ones that insist on saying every word of a long category when picking the next clue instead of shortening it, etc. It had also crossed my mind that perhaps Alex just isn't speaking as fast as he used to, which is perfectly understandable.

Personally, I have always felt that they should all be penalized if they don't clear the questions, by losing (all three of them) the point value of anything left on the board when the round ends. Because, gosh darnit, I want to see all the questions at home. /shakes fist

Obviously, Jeopardy is my favorite Game Show. :)

Jeopardy, no question about it.  I don't think that they have shortened anything, there are plenty of days when they clear both boards.

Favorite Game Show, If Any

It is tough to name a favorite, but here are some that I've enjoyed most over the years.

  • Jeopardy is always going to be at the top of the list, of course
  • Family Feud and Match Game (but only with Richard Dawson)
  • Wheel of Fortune - I knew I would always love it when at 11 years old I solved my first puzzle with no letters (it was The Oak Ridge Boys)
  • Idiotest - a more recent family favorite (thank you Cygnia for reminding me about it)
  • Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
  • 1 vs 100 and 500 Questions (both short-lived, but loved the concepts)
  • Press Your Luck (original only, of course)
  • Double Dare
  • Name That Tune

I'm sure that there are plenty more which I'm currently forgetting, but maybe they'll come to me and I can add them at another point.

As a kid I loved that show, mainly for the animated devil-like 'Whammy' character showing up.
