Is Social Media Addiction Affecting RPoL?

I have read articles that state, "Social Media Addiction is comparable to cocaine addiction."

Does the slow pace of updates here not stimulate dopamine releases fast enough?

Are we losing participants as they become jaded and chase faster responses?

Does the amount of effort feel higher here than other sources of stimulation?

I admit that I am tempted to do things that require less effort to get the responses from others that I seem to crave. Am I alone in this?

Might be. I have on occasion wished for the ability to thumbs up a good post, so I do feel social media urges while here. I don't know how hard it would be to add such features here, or even it other people would like them, but the instant gratification of someone giving a post a like is pretty nice.
