Good morning! I’ve been role-playing for most of my life, as far back as AD&D was a thing. After a recent hiatus, I want to get back into the hobby.

I’m up to date on D&D 5e, but I would really like to learn the 2D20 system from Modiphius (Star Trek Adventures and Infinity RPG), and the Narrative Dice system from Fantasy Flight (Genesys and Star Wars).

If anyone is running a game using either of these systems, I would love to lurk and learn. I could even play, if you don’t mind a newbie at the table.

Welcome to RPOL! Keep an eye on the Wanted - Players forum for games with those systems, or you can check the Browse / Search the Games for each system and tick the box next to games requesting players.

Oh, and AD&D is definitely still a thing. =) Ads for new AD&D games get posted regularly.

Get to know the place a little... hang out in Community Chat and copy the traffic.  Get in Wanted - Players and use the search features to find games that might be of interest to you.  Wanted - GMs might also be a place you want to take a look at - you may even convince a GM to run a "teaching game", you never know.

Game Proposals, Input, and Advice allows prospective GMs to float proposals for games they are thinking about creating.  This allows them to gauge interest, and to discuss the development of such games before actually getting into the work needed to set them up.  There's more to it than that, (covered in the Notice GPIA Rules) but expressing interest in games that are just forming is a great way to get in at the start.
