hi, new to site and wondering if there are games using either ASOIF or DCA here. Tried another site but its mostly DnD and can't find players for either series.

Also would love to learn VTM. Have the rules but would like to learn from established players.

Heya, and welcome to RPOL! If you haven't yet, make sure you read the notice that's pinned to the top of this forum for some useful information for folks new to the site.

DCA - DC Adventures? Dragons Conquer America? Something else? I don't see it in the systems list, but you can always post a request in Wanted - GMs (for that system or any other that you're interested in playing).

A Song of Ice and Fire isn't as popular here as D&D, but there are a few active games going right now, and one is requesting new players. At the bottom of the site, there's a Browse/Search the Games link, and you can look for ASOIF there.

Vampire in its various incarnations is the most popular of those three systems. New games are advertised fairly regularly in Wanted - Players.

thank you.

DCA is DC Adventures, though M&M 3rd Ed works as well. I'll look around, found a couple.

Last question would be how long is for a site noob to GM. Right away or is there a wait?

You can GM a game as soon as you feel you are ready.  RPoL does not place any restrictions on who can run a game, or how soon they can do it.

Welcome!  I'll add to BBR's sentiment:  RPoL has a powerful game development toolkit for GMs.  If you need help getting started, say the word and we'll give ya a hand.

How does one do linking. Like to add the link of my game to the IC I did so interested players can find it easier.

You'll want to post in the Wanted - Players forum.  When you make a post there, it will ask what game you want to advertise, and that link will be in the page when you post your ad. :)

Right, links to games aren’t allowed in this forum, but they are in Wanted - Players.

You can also go into the game and copy the url from the game there in case you want to post a link to it. For instance, players sometimes ask GMs in the games they’re in if they can advertise a game they’re starting up, and you can copy and paste links that way.

Game links are generally only allowed in Wanted - Players to advertise a game, Wanted - GMs if a GM has a game that fits what a player is looking for, and Game Proposals, Input, and Advice if a game has been made based on enough interest in that particular thread. Game links are generally not allowed in other public forums.

Edit - Check out the FAQs, specifically RPOL’s General Forum Rules, for more info: /help/?t=faqs

Should've worded this different. Iw as asking how to code a link for the IC forum for a game I created not here.

Look into the "RUBB Code" section of the FAQs. It explains links and images and tables (oh my) so you'll get more than you bargained for.

If you are talking about making a link in a thread in Game Proposals, Input, and Advice, I believe that is permitted once the interest checking phase is over.  Simply copy the link from your game and paste it into your interest check thread.  You should see it render as "link to another game" when you preview it.

Finallay figure it out. The FAQs section help so thank you.

Now one last question is about Adult

My period is coming up when I can apply but wondering what this all entails. I have a game I want to run as are a few wouldn't mind joining but for my own feel the Adult section is the best place for it.

Just curious what it envolves to be allowed to do adult to see if it's worth the trouble of even asking for the rights. r

Make sure you throughly read the Mature and Adult Games FAQ under General RPOL Information and RPOL’s Adult and Mature Games Policies under Site Policies. You’ll find all three in the FAQs. (You can also access the FAQs at the top right corner on any RPOL page.)

Adult games can be very tricky. As a GM in an adult game, you are responsible for making sure all players abide by RPOL’s Adult Games Policy, even in private messages. Also, if you suspect someone has lied about their age, you must report this to RPOL’s moderators.

I haven’t had any issues with site policies in the adult games I’ve played or GMed, but it seems like a majority of the disruptive issues in games occur in adult games, so tread with caution.

Some players shy away from Adult games because of the sexual implications, even if that is not the intent of the GM.

Mad Mick has the right of it.  Read, re-read, then read again, and be sure you understand if you intend to GM an Adult game, as you will bear ultimate responsibility for what happens there.
