In the thread about posting photos, someone suggested that these forums won't show photos, so I wanted to test what I can do in a game forum. So I tried to create a game. I failed.

I clicked "start a game", and then gave it a name, filled in all the fields (optional or otherwise) and just kept getting this error:
Please select between one and three genres.

Is genre the same as category?  I clicked 1. I tried 2, I tried 3, I tried 10.  None of it worked. Same error every time.

What am I doing wrong?

Yes, you can choose from the different categories to select your game’s genre(s). I’m puzzled as to why you weren’t able to create a game. You should be able to progress as long as you choose between 1 and 3 categories.

Did you, perchance, attempt to create a game with Mature or Adult rating?  If so, it's possible you need to apply for access and then wait for a bit for that access to be granted?

If this is, indeed, the case, try creating a game that is not rated Adult or Mature.

Nope. I tried all kinds of combinations.

Nothing works.

Giving the game a Mature rating would not affect anything - there are no limitations on access to Mature games.

Thanks, Ron.  Yeah, I lump them together in my mind because of the restrictions on content - not correct as far as waiting for clearance.  My error.

@ der kluge:  Just for interest sake, how many game slots are showing for you?  (It should be at the top when you attempt to create a game.  You'll see the number of games you've created and the number of total games you can have, {which goes up over time}.)

At the top, it just says:

Welcome der_kluge! You are about to create your first game!

By default you can create up to 20 games.

Incidentally, if I do a search for any games where I am the game master, no results are returned.  So, definitely no games created "behind the scenes".

I've had a similar problem. Are you on rpol.net or r.rpol.net? If it's the latter then try switching to the main site, that's worked for me previously.

Huh.  That's worth a test.  Lemme nip out for a tick and see what happens.

Yeah... I couldn't create a game from r.rpol.net either.  It might be worth me reporting this to the Development thread?

I think the link I had originally for this site was the r. and not the other one. Thanks for clarifying that.  I would have never figured that out on my own!
