Hello all and most especially to whomever actually reads this!

I started PbP gaming nearly 20 years ago on EnWorld as Vendetta. The site was too big and slow, so after a few fun games and many that tragically died too soon I followed some friends to some smaller PBP sites. I happily gamed at a few places for a while, especially Groovy Gamers and The Gaming Realm but the problem with small sites is that they eventually die too. Hard to bring in new blood to small sites. So I've been shopping around and found this place. I'd like to try it out and hopefully find a good play to curl up and tell some stories with other like-minded individuals.

I'll play pretty much anything. I'm mostly interested in being part of a good story. I enjoy learning new systems. I have created MANY different RPGs of my own and probably like some of you, hope to publish one of them some day. I especially love super heroes, especially the champions system. M&M is a fun system but I feel like too many players are able to torture the rules into being able to do just about everything with their character... well, torture may be too harsh a term... the system does kind of lend itself to that. Though, I've never tried 3rd edition so I don't know how they changed it. A lot of the old M&Mers I knew hated it.

I love Science Fiction (star wars, star trek, firefly, etc etc etc) and Fantasy. There is a lot I like about the simplicity and versatile D&D 5e system (Obviously, as a fan of Champions, I like complex and balanced very much). Love a lot of the old school games like Marvel Super Heroes, Star Frontiers, MERPS (Middle Earth Role-Playing System), et al.

I've GMed a lot... most of the time. I find that the best way to keep a game alive is to be the one who controls it. Far too often, great games I have been in have died for a variety of reasons. Even some I have GMed, sadly too (Though, in my defense, I'm usually the guy trying to post to get it back on some legs... but then, as devils advocate, you never know if people just got bored and say "Oh, sorry, life's just gotten really busy") I've GMed an epic 3.5 adventure that lasted about 9 years, a MSH adventure that lasted 6 and a few others that lasted somewhat less.

Anyway, I switched to being Papa Bear about a decade ago because the name Vendetta was too hard to claim... there were apparently a lot of us out there. Papa Bear hasn't been too hard to claim so its me now :)

Hey hey Papa Bear!

I was on Groovy Gamers before the fall (also as Ski-Bird).  We gamed together briefly in a D&D 3.5 game I helmed titled War of the Burning Sky.

You'll definitely find some old school love here.  The sheer volume of players means that a lot of the niche markets have adequate representation.

Welcome to the family!  Here you will find all the to your heart desires!  Whether it’s system or creative freeform we got it.

A couple of tips for you are below:-

Make sure you turn on your rmail by going to the link at the top that is User preferences, there you will find some settings to play around with including the rmail one as that is how you and most GMs can talk.

On the main menu there are two forums you can find what you want to play in
Wanted: players
Wanted: GMs

At the bottom of the main menu you will also find search link to find games

So all I can say now is

KEEP SAFE & STAY IN AND WE'LL BEAT THIS VIRUS TOGETHER!!
