Mummy: the Curse

So, did anyone here do the Kickstarter for Mummy: the Curse?  If so, what are your impressions of the game so far?

For those that didn't get the Kickstarter, are you planning on picking up the game?

Re: Mummy: the Curse

I kickstarted it, and I'm liking it. It's very different to previous games, but I think that's a good thing. The inverse power scale is quite interesting too, though I'd have to play it before I can tell if it works well or not.

Re: Mummy: the Curse

I find the power scale interesting as well.  It's very different from the other games, and probably makes for a very powerful group of PCs too.  Storytellers are going to have to hammer home the limited time mummies have.

And I foresee some tense crossover games too.

Re: Mummy: the Curse

Trick is that most games on RPOL pass along slowly, so if the Mummies are starting at the pinnacle of their power, and every other splat is starting off at the lowest rung of their totem poles.

Might be good for High XP campaigns though.

Re: Mummy: the Curse

I see crossovers happening for midlevel xp.  It could work at low levels, if all you had was one mummy.  Power is great and all, but useless if it cannot be directed against the problem.  Trying to tackle a mummy in a straight up fight is essentially suicide.  Most of the other splat do not have a time limit, and mummies have very particular tastes when it comes to the layout of their tombs.  Therein lies the trick to besting a mummy.  But it requires a great amount of patience and teamwork... it could be great fun, or a great disaster.
