Elder Vampire the Requiem 2.0 Game

Vampire has always been a favorite of mine, but so rarely do I get to see a character on the boards get anywhere off the ground. I'd love to find a GM (and a group) interested in telling the stories of powerful vampires -- something that focus more on mystery and intrigue beyond the scope of neonates.

The exact nature of the game -- I'm very open to. It could be ancient vampires waking up in a modern city and getting their bearings, or it could be a nomad (or group) seeking to take over a city, or it could be a group investigating some place away from society (an arctic island with little life on it, or some ancient city that is now just a tourist trap, or whatever). I'd be happy to voice and help with whatever.

The exact nature of what an 'elder' is can be determined by the GM. I have no hard demands here, though my goal is emulate some of the big stars from the literature. I believe the Elder Book suggests 100 XP + Blood Potency 6, but I am, again, open to whatever the GM is comfortable with.

I have a character in mind for this -- but only if that is helpful. There is nothing I can't change if it makes the character fit within whatever setting we begin.

I'm open to a group, but I imagine it should be small. I would like for the group to agree, on an OOC level, that we are a 'coterie', and that should one of our players leave the coterie, they would become an NPC. PvP is just going to get messy and clumsy.

I'd love to chat more with anybody willing to take it on!

I'd love to play in something like this! I've been meaning to play in a coterie style game, as I dislike games that get too large and spread out (and I also don't like PvP).

I like the idea of ancient vampires waking from torpor; I had an old idea a while back of vampires waking up and finding some great conspiracy against them or the city's missing its vampires entirely and something's hunting them.

I don't think I'm a good candidate to run this idea or any game for you though, as I'm quite inexperienced and I only have the Core book. Hope to play with you though if this gets off the ground.

Did you all ever find a GM for this? I'd throw my hat in the ring as an interested player, at least!

No takers yet! T_T

@ChbiMikru: I'm open to working with a newer GM though! A game like this is going to require a lot of communication between players and GMs anyway. I'm also not a stickler to any sort of specific metaplot -- I'm open to unique or unlikely situations (non-traditional Courts, or entirely outside of the Court system, bad guys/monsters made up instead of being built from a splat book, etc).

Elder Vampire the Requiem 2.0 Game

My friend ran a WoD Chicago game for a while, focused on our Vampire coterie.  It was good fun, and I enjoyed some of the stuff they had in the Chicago book.  A few years later, I wanted to take a crack at a game using that resource.

So, I ran one in which the players were a powerful coterie that once ruled Chicago.  They counted the Prince, Sheriff, and several Primogen among their number.  They woke in 2018 after a century of torpor with no memory of who put them there and why.  They began exploring the modern nights with a singular goal: to retake what was once theirs.

Anyway, that game ended just as things were starting to get really interesting.  I've always wanted to revisit the concept.

That being said, I haven't played any of the newer Chronicles of Darkness games, though I do have a copy of VtR 2nd Edition and The God-Machine Chronicles.

So, would anyone be interested in this concept?

Would anyone want to play if it were 1st Edition, or would everyone still want a 2nd Edition game?

I'm going to look through 2nd Edition over the next few days and see if I feel like converting.

Just thought I'd check to see if my concept had any traction.

That sounds similar to the idea I vaguely had in the past; I'd be down for it. I'm a fan of how things have changed in 2nd Edition, so I'd still choose that.

I personally feel my problem with STing is that I wouldn't be able to fit the amount of research I'd have to do to feel confident about it into my daily schedule and inevitably do a bad job at it. Quarantine won't last forever after all, and my job has already somewhat picked back up.

I'd definitely be interested in that idea as well.

I would definitely want to play 2nd Edition though, I'll second that it's much better than 1e in basically every way. And you only need a few books to run it.
