Conan the Barbarian

Years ago my friend urged me to play something a little darker than my usual fare. The excess of a slaver's city was contrasted with the bareness of the desert that surrounded those onion topped domes. Fur wrapped muscled warriors clashed with equally deadly foes who's curved blades cut deep while all tried to catch the attention of the harem clad beauties. The lore was dark...maybe ripening in the desert heat. Degrees being the difference between hero and villian. But you can still claim you're on the good side if your saving the world even if you get both the girl AND get paid, right? Now I long for a repeat of that game. Anyone else feel the heat?

Aye, I do.  To gaze again across the frozen bay to the taut lines of the fast corsair, the breath of the slaves billowing in the clear air!  To step through the ruined archway of a jungle fastness, ichor still dripping in runnels down my blades, with a gem-studded talisman around my neck and more awaiting my nimble fingers, or to hear the soft grunt a man makes, surprised, as a long hykranian arrow pierces his heart...

Those passions and more call to me as well.

I am a huge fan of the Hyborian world, and Conan.

I am a traditionalist. Have  a Nemedian minor noble, that joined  the wrong side of a rebellion against the king. He had to flee, and now is a Sell Sword. I always wanted to get a chance to rp him.. sigh. Perhaps some day.

If this could be run in behind-the-scenes Gurps system and I could keep the players to 4 or less, I'd offer to run it. If interested, Rmail me! :)

I am the ine that placed the GM wanted add. To begin with, my thanks for your considering  of the running this.

I would like to participate,  but your rules are not known to me.

Hi Bannacor, I've got one player and am recruiting one more. Don't worry about the rules. If you can describe what kind of character you're considering, I can help you out or pregenerate one for you.

Conan the Barbarian

In reply to Girl Interrupted (msg # 8):

 Greetings,

I am again, in your debt, for the offer of assistance  in making a character.

The character concept, is a warrior from Nemedia. He was a household knight of
a minor lord.  Said Lord, with promises  of more lands, gold, join a rebellion,  against the King of Nemedia.

The knight thought the revolt a fool's errand, and attempted to talk his lord out of the folly. Sadly, his counsel  was ignored, and marched with the rebel forces to strive with the loyal followers  of the monarchy.

The two forces met upon the field, and after several hours of blood letting broke before the Royal host. The knight fought as best he could, at his lord's side, but to no avail. His lord fell, when  pike pierced his breast. At that point. The knight with a few others, cut thier way clear of the royalist forces. And rode for the border. If he and the others where caught. The best they could hope for, was a hanging as traitors.

The GM,had to bow out, due to the real world. I hope to find another, that loves Hyboria, as much as I do.

Again I would ride the dusty plain, a falcon at my breast, and the wind in my hair!  That is indeed good in life - though it pales in comparison to crushing your enemies and hearing the lamentations of their women!  Awake me from my slumber if such a game arises, ere I sleep 1000 years!

I would also be very interested in playing a Hyborian game. I am very familiar with Howa's books and some of the imitations, and have played in a few Hyborian-related games.
