Begging Pleading for a 2nd Edition ADnD game set in Faerun
I have always had a soft spot for this older version of Dungeons and Dragons and believe that it is vastly underrated. Is there any DM willing to go old school and give this old relic a shot? I do ask for the following though but am willing to be flexible and go with what the DM feels comfortable with....

-set in the Forgotten Realms
-1st level, use players options and complete book of series of books
-would not mind doing module series such as the Sword of the Dales or the Doom of Daggerdale but would not mind original adventures set in and around the North, specifically near Silver Marches, Waterdeep and Neverwinter. Most of the games I played tend to be around the Dalelands would like to try those areas instead.
-prefer political intrigue, mystery and roleplaying with only a little bit of hack and slash.
-openminded DMs willing to allow unusual characters such as child mages but I am desperate enough to try something else

I'd be all over this as a player; especially if you don't mind excluding players' option (complete books are fine; I'm not really a fan of the players' option books they released shortly before the change to 3E though).

I've tried running this exact setting before on here. I won't GM this again, but if you need players I would be down. I mean there are plenty of option for Forgotten Realms, but I gotta ask what exactly don't you like about that series? Mainly asking because one function of it is mildly important to a few builds of mine.

Mainly as I have found that if you use players' option, anyone who doesn't is substantially weaker. I do like the Complete handbook series though.

If you can wait; I may be able to have a 2E game up in about a month, not sure it will strike everything you want though.

I've advertised in Players Wanted now; it will start at level 1.

Not sure about child mage.
