Something Sci-Fi?
Heyo,
Just figured I'd try my luck and see if anything I'm about to say sparks some interest.
New to the site, not new to roleplaying or play by post. Forever DM looking for a chance to play for a change.
Prefer something Sci Fi or Superhuman, especially some of the games I've got but haven't had a chance to play as much. So, I'd love to try Eclipse Phase, Numenera (or any Cypher game), CthulhuTech, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium, Mutant Chronicles 2d20, or Fallout 2d20.
I'd also be willing to look over a game that someone else is passionate about, I love learning new systems and am always looking for a reason to add to my collection. No guarantees, but if it looks interesting and the system feels right I'm definitely happy to put in the effort to explore it.
There's a number of games I'm familiar with but would surely have fun playing: Mutants and Masterminds 3e, FFG Star Wars, Shadowrun 5e (willing to get 6e as well), or Starfinder.
There are a few games I wouldn't mind getting more experience with, but these are a bit more dependant on how the game is run. It's mainly FATE, GURPS 4e, and HERO (is there some psychic significance to the fact that all these names are all caps?).
Anyway, I love spectacle - whether that be epic and exotic settings or incredible displays of power. Obviously, I lean towards space opera rather than hard Sci Fi. Not that I don't love science, but I'm usually more interested in problems solved with drama than problems solved with math (though, if the math is dramatic, I'm totally down).
I very much like games that are cooperative, where the players work together to solve problems rather than against one another, where the game runner is rooting for the team rather than trying to destroy them, and where any kind of character or player is welcome regardless of ethnicity, ability, gender, or orientation.
