IC7-30

Wall C moves across the corridor, crushing into wall D and surely would have been very injurious to anyone still in the hall.  Wall B then moves across the corridor and (although technically you can't see it) wall E moves across the original corridor.  After a moment, wall D moves across the original corridor, taking walls E and F with it and resetting the trap to its original position, as shown below:

In Room 2, two things catch your attention.  The first is the pair of humanoid skeletons on the floor.  They both wear ruined leather armor and their equipment is stacked in a corner:  two daggers, a greataxe, a longsword, and a small wooden shield.  Your best guess is that these two died here, apparently from hunger or thirst the way they are huddled in a corner.  Grasped in its bony hands, the skeleton in the far corner holds an old rotted scroll of some sort.  The other skeleton's bones are more scattered, apparently kicked about by Gan and his orc.

The second thing you notice are the bas relief carvings on the wall.  They depict an erupting volcano and people running for their lives.  The clouds from the volcano block out half the sun.  The carvings on the other wall show the moon and the stars together giving birth to the sun below them.  The third wall shows a dragon rising the full heighth of the room.  In the crook of either wing lies a planet.

In Room 3, your light glints of slime and mold on the wall that could have been festering there for centuries.  Water drips slowly into the southern corner of the room.  Part of the bricks forming the south section of that wall have rotted from the centuries and the water, and have been apparently kicked in, perhaps even by Gan and his orcs.  Where the wall has crumbled, a device with two switches is embedded in the inner wall.  Once hidden there, the mechanism is now easy to spot, but it is old and its rock joints are covered with moss and have expanded from the water.  It will not be easy to throw one of those switches.

Re: IC7-30

Sir Floradine pulls the scroll from the skeleton's grasp and reads it.

Then he says, "From my observation of how the walls smash together when the trap resets, I think we are stuck in here.  That must be what happened to Gan and his orcs.  Maybe we should try to pull the switches and see what happens."

Shae nods in agreement with Floradine, her brow furrowed in thought, "It would seem our only choice."

She shift Shanjalae in her arms, shifting her younger elf's weight a little before to examine the lever's closer. "If those muscle bound Orcs couldn't shift these levers, I know I wouldn't be able to."

Her eyes flicker to Floradine and Joseph, "How strong are you feeling boys?"

Re: IC7-30

Sir Floradine pulls the scroll from the skeleton's grasp, but before he can read it, you hear the familiar sound of stone scraping against stone.  Suddenly the walls move again.  No one is in the hall, so they move harmlessly.  When they stop in the triggered position, you see Illborn standing in the hallway.

Floradine reads the crumbling parchment.  It is written in an archaic Common tongue and looks like a list of traveling notes he wrote for himself.  It says:

"To unlock the levers, throw the one that rings the gong.
Drain the moat before moving the lava.
The blue lever drains the moat and sounds the horn.
The red and purple levers do not control the lava.
You hear a whistle if the lava drains away.
You hear a bell if the lava flows into the moat.
The lever that rings the bell is next to the green lever.
The lever that rings the gong is at one end of the row.
The purple lever does not ring anything.
The lever that blows the whistle is next to both the lever that rings the bell and the lever that sounds the horn.
The portcullises rise to a drumbeat.
The yellow and green levers do something to the lava."

Shae examines the two levers.  There is one on the left and one on the right.  They are nondescript and carved out of stone.  The darkness inside the mechanism cannot be seen.

"Can't let you have all the fun," Illborn says.  "I left one of my crows outside the moving walls with a light in case we need it.  I guess we can't go back to the hall when it resets, right?"

Re: IC7-30

"You are an astute man," Shae comments to Illborn passively before turning a frustrated gaze upon the levers.

She listens to Floradine read out the contents of the scroll.

"Levers, levers, levers!" she growls, obvious that her patience is running rather thin, "I am sick to death of traps, treacherous thieves, evil priests and bloody orcs!"

She turns to Floradine, "Can we make this easy and use the teleportation staff again.  Gillimar will be getting ahead of us, and I want to catch him long enough to give him a good kick in the...."

She stops short of saying the last, realising that her younger sister could quite easily overhear her less than ladylike tongue.

Re: IC7-30

"Good idea," Floradine says.  He lines up the staff so that exactly 50 feet ahead should put them in the corridor but outside the trap (lest they trigger it again).  Then he uses the staff to open the portal
