Characters and Posting Preferences - Definitely Read This

I want to point out some general issues regarding play of this game:

CHARACTER TYPES
In creating characters, notice that there are no specific "classes."  You basically have a lot of freedom to create characters according to your own specific likes and the established rules.  But keeping this in mind, make sure your characters have skills that are helpful.  You are on missions which will require battle, stealth, weapons usage, feats of daring and dexterity, and other types of skills as seen in the movies.  Therefore, for example, a skill in basket weaving will not help you all that much.

Because there are no classes, here some archetypes to consider or work around:

Warrior (either powerful, dextrous, good with guns, melee weapons, martial arts, whatever)

Spy (stealth, acrobatics, skills in fasttalking, etc.)

Medic (to help everyone in battle...and after)

Intellectual (computer programming skills, possibly ordnance disposal skills, sixth sense, and the like)

I'm sure there are more, but these just come to mind.  Just be sure to make your character useful as well as interesting.

POSTING:
I generally post once or more a day on weekdays, maybe once or twice or not at all on weekends depending on RL.

I expect that you will post once a day or every other day to keep the game moving.

BATTLES
Please carefully read how I like battles to run.  If we don't do it properly, a GURPS battle can take a long time.  Also, try to review some of the previous actual battles.  That shows you not only how they go, but how focus time works.

For an interesting one, see here:  link to a message in "GURPS - Masters of the Matrix"
(Scroll down to where it is bold "Round 1," where the battle started.  This is where the characters used focus and the opponents had a more powerful focus.  Make sure to read rounds 3 and 4.)

Please keep in mind that the Focus rules changed after the first adventure.  However, those battles show you very well how weapons work.  For example, see here:  link to a message in "GURPS - Masters of the Matrix"
(Scroll to where it says "Turn 1")

POSTING DETAIL
Posting detail is important to keep your character "roleplaying" instead of "roll playing."  However, we all understand that your character will not stand around pondering the existential nature of the universe when M-16's are firing at him.  Still, please post well so that all will enjoy your participation.

Also, post often.  I don't know if silence means your character is doing nothing, if you're out of town, or if you've been in a car accident (which actually happened to a player of mine once).  Sometimes, that just means posting a one liner, but just try not to make one liners your standard posting.

ROLEPLAYING
I tell people very little about your characters and add very little to what you say, so PLEASE do the job of telling everyone all about your character, describing his little quirks, and presenting the character in an interesting way.

Communicate with each other (in and out of character both) and you can create a nice tapestry of roleplaying instead of a video game following my story arc.

EXPERIENCE POINTS
You get experience points based on several factors, including defeating enemies, solving problems, and finishing missions.

To date, however, the primary distinguishing mark regarding how xp are given out has been based on frequency and depth of posts.  Keep that in mind and you will do fine.
