Re: The Oracle's Labyrinth-1

Dracos and the Agent
The human on the right enters Focus Speed and runs toward the Agent, saying, "I really hope this is just a test, fighting an agent is not my idea of a good time.  X, get the human I got the Agent."

Dracos fires at the opponent on the left as he steps forward.  He takes one step forward, braces himself, aims for two seconds, and fires.

The human on the left grunts in pain, lifting a pistol from his belt and firing back.  He hits Dracos square in the chest.  Dracos collapses, the life draining from him.

The Agent enters Focus Speed.  The Agent is running toward the wall.

The human is running toward the Agent.

The Agent reaches the wall as the human approaches from the side.

The Agent grabs a katana from the wall and is hit by a shin kick to his chest.  The Agent grunts and falls back a step but readies himself with the katana held in front of him to fight.

Jade and Screed

Screed shakes his head, "Yeah, murder-death-kill.  Whatever..."  He puts his safety on and shrugs, "Then kill.  I'm tired of your games, Oracle.  Help or don't help."  He stands and waits.

Jade looks over at Screed in surprise, but she lifts her M-16.  "You're awfully brave," she says, "or very stupid.  I hope brave."  Then she fires at Da Vinci.

(Aim 1 second, fire 2 seconds to drain clip.)

Jade begins to aim.  Da Vinci goes into Focus Speed.

"Let's go man to man! I call FC!" The figure on the left enters Focus Speed and pulls out a pistol, and then a shield.  He fires 3 times at DX 8.  She grunts as two bullets hit her, one in the arm and one in the shoulder.

Screed shrugs, "Nope, not brave, just tired of the games.  Hell, if I'm wrong, you'll have to let me know because I won't remember it."  He sticks his tongue out at her.

The figure on the right says in a woman’s voice, "There is no reason to kill them.  And we are not your puppets, that's what being a Mirotech is about, isn't it?  Non-conforming?”  She runs to the figure on the left, entering Focus Speed.  It takes her two rounds to reach the far side.  Then she grabs Screed in a judo hold.  He does not resist as she tears at his face but does not hurt him.

Screed stands there and Jade fires.  Da Vinci is hard to hit because he is moving too fast, but she tracks him with the M-16 and lands one hit on him.

Da Vinci runs to the wall, grabs a set of numchucks and is running toward Jade and Screed.

DX 6 has two pistols holstered.  She enters Focus Mode and draws both, firing them both at Da Vinci after a brief pause to aim…and she hits Da Vinci twice.

Da Vinci is bleeding from the wounds.

Shadow and X.

Shadow takes no time in responding, moving in a blur towards his opponent.

"I really hope this is just a test, fighting an agent is not my idea of a good timen.  X, get the human I got the Agent."

Shadow enters Focus Speed.

The Agent enters Focus Speed.  The Agent is running toward the wall.

Shadow is running toward the Agent.

The Agent reaches the wall as Shadow approaches from the side.

The Agent grabs a katana from the wall and is hit by Shadow, who successfully lands a shin kick to his chest.  The Agent grunts and falls back a step but readies himself with the katana held in front of him to fight Shadow.

The dark-clad human next to the agent fires and hits X, who grunts in pain and pulls a pistol from his belt.  He fires back and hits the black-clad figure square in the chest.  The figure collapses to the ground.

X is bleeding profusely from a wound in his gut.

Codec and Cistron step through with  Da Vinci.

Codec pulls out his small buckler riot shield and his Glock swings up from it's holster with a hiss of displaced air he becomes a blur in time. "Let's go man to man! I call FC!" *crack**crack**CRACK*!

Combat: Focus Mode (3 pts Used)
Round 1: Pull Out pistol.
Round 2: Pull Out Shield
Round 3: Fire 3 shots from pistol.

He hits DX8 with two of the bullets, once in the arm and once in the shoulder.

Cistron gives a sidelong glance toward, Codec. But is clearly talking to DaVinci "There is no reason to kill them.  And we are not your puppets, that's what being a Mirotech is about, isn't it?  Non-conforming?" Cistron doesn't pull a weapon, instead she runs to one of the cloaked targets.

She enters into Focus speed, runs across the room, grabs the unresisting opponent and tears off the mask.  Beneath it, she sees that it is Screed’s face.

DX 6 has two pistols holstered.  She enters Focus Mode and draws both, firing them both at Da Vinci after a brief pause to aim…and she hits Da Vinci twice.

Da Vinci is bleeding from the wounds.

Cistron with her suspicions confirmed, hollars back to Codec. "Codec..Don't hit the Cloakies...this one is Screed! Disarm the leaders 'til we get this sorted out! -You hear me?! -No one dies!" Cistron then turns her attention to  DX6, while her attention is diverted she will attempt to grapple/disarm her.

Screed grunts as the figure on the right grabs his face.  Relaxing just enough to let the woman get the hold she wants without forcing the issue and causing pain, he leans back against the woman.  He breathes in and says, "Right, non-conform.  I like how you do that and are able to smell so nice.  What is that scent?"

Re: The Oracle's Labyrinth-1

Jade uses the successive aim with her M-16 trained on Da Vinci like a garden hose.  (Since it only fires so fast regardless of her speed, she does not enter Focus Speed but instead continues to use successive aim until draining the clip or Da Vinci reaches her.

Rule quote:
Aiming Successive Groups: An automatic weapon firer can use his weapon like a hose, aiming even as he fires, as long as he can see where his rounds are going. After one four-shot group, this adds the weapon's accuracy bonus. Each successive group fired this way also gives +1 for aiming, up to the maximum +3 for aiming. Automatic weapons can use this "garden hose" effect even when firing on the move, if the firer watches his target while running. However, except on the flattest ground, this requires a roll v. DX or vision (whichever is worse) every turn to avoid a fall.

Jade enters focus speed:

Round 1.1- She ejects the clip as she moves back away from Da Vinci (a moving target)

Round 1.2- She reloads with a new clip, letting the first fall to the floor, still moving back away from Da Vinci.

Round 1.3- She lifts the M-16 and aims, ready to fire the beginning of the next round.

Round 2- She fires again at Da Vinci
Round 3- She again uses the M-16 on Da Vinci like a hose until that clip is emptied.

Seeing the Agent retreive the katana, an odd thought runs through his head,

I wonder how sharp it is?

Determined not to find out, he moves towards the Agent and tries to grab it's arms.

Codec hears Cistron's voice ring in his head. [ohhhh damn...]. His eyes go long and he stares at the barrel of a gun aimed at his body, gaping like a black hole. In a burst of energy he rushes to seize it from it's malevolent user. [who's hiding under this facade?]. His hands rush simulatneously towards the enemy's gun and he tries to keep the distance steady.

Re: The Oracle's Labyrinth-1

ROUND 1

Jade, Screed, Cistron, and Codec

Round 1.1
Jade enters focus speed.  She ejects the clip as she moves back away from Da Vinci (a moving target).

Screed disappears from sight.

Cistron pulls out her two uzis (not in focus speed).

Codec gets into focus speed and starts running across the room toward DX6.

Da Vinci enters focus speed and aims at Jade.

Round 1.2

Jade reloads with a new clip, letting the first fall to the floor, still moving back away from Da Vinci.

Codec is still running across the floor.

Da Vinci fires at Jade…but misses.

(DX6 is not in focus speed.)

Round 1.3

Jade lifts the M-16 and aims at Da Vinci, ready to fire the beginning of the next round.

Codec finally reaches his opponent.

Da Vinci fires again, hitting Jade in the stomach.  (8 dmg)  Jade is badly wounded.  Another shot and she will be unconscious.

DX6 fires at Codec, but his focus speed protects him and he hears the bullet whizz by his head.

Shadow and X

X collapses into unconsciousness from the bleeding wound.  Dracos is dead.

Shadow tries to grapple with the Agent…and succeeds.  The katana is held at bay.

Round 2

Screed is apparently…somewhere…invisible.

Jade fires at Da Vinci…missing him.

Da Vinci fires back…but misses Jade.

Cistron fires her uzi at DX6 across the room…meanwhile, Codec has run across the floor.  Unfortunately, Cistron hits Codec (5 dmg) and misses DX 6.  (Roll of 18…critical miss, sorry.)

Codec tries but is unsuccessful in disarming DX6.  With Codec right there, DX6 grabs Codec and twists his arm back.

Shadow and X.

Shadow tries an arm lock on the Agent…meanwhile the agent is trying to wrest the katana free and simultaneously striking out with one hand.

Shadow feels a surge of pain in his ribs.  (2 dmg).  But he gets the Agent in the arm lock

Round 3
<purple>
Screed is still…somewhere.

DX-6 maneuvers around, and Codec finds himself flying through the air as he is flipped on his back by the woman.  (Codec will now have to rise back to his feet.)  DX6 turns back to Cistron.

Cistron fires at DX6 again, but misses.

Jade fires at Da Vinci…and hits him.  Da Vinci stumbles and falls to the floor.  He is dead.

Shadow tries to disarm the agent but is unsuccessful.  Meanwhile, the agent uses a judo technique of his own.  Shadow feels pain in his elbow, and he is thrown off balance, stumbling to the floor…but he catches his balance at the last minute.  The two face each other, the Agent with katana in hand.

Codec's shoulder releases a splash of red as an Uzi shot collides with him. [OOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!]. His disarmament hand goes long and before he knows it the ceiling is staring straight at him. [wtf?...oh...no]. He crumples to the floor in a sickening thud. [can't stop now...] He snaps out of his daze in a blur and jumps to his feet. He tries to disarm DX again with renewed vigor. Then he sends two punches her way aiming to disable. [c'mon. dodge this...]

OOC: I hope I haven't lost people here.  I was hoping more would respond for the next battle round.  I've also been out of town most of the last month.  We are getting close to the end here, so hang with me if you can...

Shadow jabs the katana...and successfully skewers the agent, who slides down its blade to the tatami floor.  There is a flash of light, and the agent is gone.

The wall behind Shadow parts, opening up an exit from this battlezone dojo.

DX does not seem like she will stop.

She hits Codec with a karate blow to the face, sending blood flying from his nose (2 dmg), but he successfully disarms her.

Jade fires at her...hitting.  DX slumps to the floor before disappearing in a flash of light.

A panel opens in the wall, revealing a dark exit from the room.

A figure is approaching from the far side of the dark corridor.  You prepare for another battle...and then Shadow steps into the room.  The two rooms are interconnected by the hall, and the hallway leads forward.

You are finally all reunited...the survivors anyway.  You have Jade, Cistron, Codec, Screed, and Shadow.

Dracos has been lost.  And apparently so has X.  Unlike the other figures, X's body did not disappear in a flash of light when he died.
