Dice Roller Defaults

Sometimes, it would be nice to keep certain features default for games, like the Record Each Dice and Game System.

You can already do that, using the Configure the roller link (bottom left corner of the roller itself).

Edit: If you are a GM, of course.

Because Jase programs like a ninja.

...A ninja who knows how to write code.  And has an interest in role-playing games.  And an awesome generous streak.  So kind of an unusual ninja.

But still.  Like a ninja.

Dice Roller Defaults

I found out the dice roller settings are for EVERYONE in the game, not just the person who changed it. So that's a little saddening for what I was aiming to do. But I'm glad to know that I have the ability now.

The button only exists for the GM, but it lets them have things like Reroll Max, or a system selection, pre-set for the players... but the players can still undo it all for specific die rolls when they need to.  I don't know how hard it would be to make it so a GM could set it up differently for different players, but I'm not sure how generally useful it would be, either.

I have no idea what you're trying to do, but... these get kind of complicated, but you can set up the Dice Roller Links, and those have a whole lot of settings.  If you look in the FAQ under General RPoL Information, RuBB Code Tips and Tricks, there's "How do I... put die roller links in posts and character sheets?"  And that has a list of all the different options, and they do cover.. at least almost everything you can set in the Configure the Dice Roller thing.

So if you wanted an individual DR configuration for different players, you could probably set those up in their character sheets, and that might do... whatever it is you're hoping for.

Oh, it was just to auto check my rolls as a DM as secret. Really nothing terribly complicated or necessary. Just one click less I have to make so I can be lazy :P

Dice Roller Links

Once you've played around with it a bit, it's pretty easy to get the hang of how to set these up. The Help page has it in the section on the Die Roller.

Especially on the Character Sheet page, it can be really helpful to have common rolls prepared ahead of time -- skill checks, attack rolls, things like that. The only drawback is that it makes the editing side of the sheet look like gobbledygook.
