Shouldn't there be the usual formatting buttons for the scratchpad?

Actually, I'd like to get post drafting capabilities. But in the absence of that, the scratchpad would be my second best option if I have time to start writing a post but not to finish it. Unfortunately, the UI lacks the formatting buttons, so it's either formatting directly with markup or start writing a post and then cut&paste to the scratchpad.
