Star Trek Adventures - Calling All Cadets

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of a group of recent Academy cadets assigned to the starship Belfast. While it's mission was to patrol and support Federation Space, circumstances outside of Starfleet's control will soon thrust these young cadets into dangerous circumstances as they end up trying to defend the Federation against a strange new species of invaders.




This game will have the players start as fresh young recruits for a less-than glamorous ship assignment that spirals out of control and thrusts them straight into the center of an alien invasion of the Alpha Quadrant.

Although Players will be asked to accommodate some character restrictions during character creation there will be ample opportunity for advancement within the ranks as the Federation gears up for war.

Finally even though the backdrop of the game will feature a lot of combat that doesn't mean that this is necessarily going to be a combat oriented game. Diplomacy, science and exploration are all needed to gather allies and study the new aliens for weakness and discovering the motivation behind their sudden aggression.

Looking for a replacement engineer. Our engineer dropped almost immediately so we'll just hot swap in the new character for him.

 I have an idea for a whole crew of new characters.  One I would like to try is a Human female science officer of German descent named Kimberly Brower. She is a well raised, well adjusted, humble, naive woman.  She is beautiful, the most beautiful thing about her is her personality and  her ability to see the possessive in everything.  Even though she pretty, it is not really her looks that attracts people to her.  It's her bubbly personality matched with her quick wit.  She stands a 5 foot 9, 120 lbs with strawberry blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes.  Her smile is perhaps her most endearing physical quality. She is extremely cute.  One of her old Starfleet professor would joke that if they made a plush toy of Kimmy, everyone would want one, but of course Kimberly would deny it light heartedly.

  Kimberly possesses a gift that is extremely rare to humans or any species and that is she has a photographic memory.  This is one reason she chose to pursue a scientist career as she can store almost an endless amount of facts in her brain like a computer.  In her Advanced Mathematics course at the Academy she was able to receipt the whole sum of Pi that was posted around the top of the class room by only reading them once, to the amazement of her colleges.  This made her popular in acedemic circles but also made a small few number of cadets jelous.  Because of her special abilities it was deemed most likely by her professors that she would become a  Starfleet officer one day.  Her gift would be really beneficial to a starship.

 Kimberly doesn't tell people about her gift or brag about it.  She would actually rather people didn't know and like her for herself rather then her abilities.  Kimberly is a real pure soul and she likes nothing other then helping others.  She is an animal enthusiast and cute and cuddly things are her weakness, including children.  Kimberly desperately wants a child of her own one day.  She is also a virgin and is saving herself for the perfect man who is as caring and loving as her and wants children.  She has had many suitors, but she alwasy finds some way to turn them down as nicely as possible, usually using her quick wits to come up with a reason she can't. Kimberly is an exceptionally intelligent person and with the use of her photographic memory aced the Star fleet curriculum.  She specializes in biology and minors in chemistry.

Another Idea is a vulcan who had escaped the borg by storing his conciousness in a special secure spot in his brain before he was assimilated.  He was able to function as an independant being and managed to escape.  Using the help of a marooned EMH in an abandon federation outpost while in hiding from the borg, Memnek was able to extract a good portion of his borg implants through a grueling surgical procedure.  He found though after seperating from the collective that his logic driven brain longed for the efficiency and knowledge he recieved while part of the borg as he was an engineering drone. He was also the first Vulcan to be assimilated and his sense of logic was assimilated into the hive mind.  He found his mind being pulled into two different directions, and the logic and illogical idea that he wanted to rejoin the collective tore at his mind and he has developed a form of schizophrenia that he works hard to suppress with his vulcan mind techniques.  Sometimes his mind will turn evil and he will despise all humans or weaker minded races and long to be part of the borg again to experience that level of perfection. But at the same time he values his independent mind state and is deeply shamed, like most vulcans, that another being was able to dominate his mind.  The way he managed to extract most of his borg implants without the use of a fully equipped medical facility astounds most of his colleagues as no one should be able to survive such a procedure. It shows how tough mentally and physically vulcans are.  But he would only talk about his experience if asked.  He does sometimes go into matter of factually stating why human minds are inferior to vulcans or the other races out there and doesn't really respect emotions or how fragile the emotional mind can be.  He believes emotions such as love and hate are responsible for starting a lot of conflict and war and sees it as weakness.

  With his intellect and previous job as a borg engineer, Memnek chose to be an engineering officer aboard a deep space Starfleet vessel.  Although he claims to want to use his knowlege of the borg to help battle them, he's secretly fighting the urge to rejoin them.  Its up to the crew to make him value them over the borg.
